One of the finest memoirs ever written. If you're interested in noir author Derek Raymond, this is the book to get (if you can find it). Took me years. He goes into the writing of I Was Dora Suarez and the toll it took on his psyche.

Excellent. And, the last fourth of this novel, is quite possibly the funniest ever. Celine, arguably, just might be the greatest novelist that ever lived. Bukowski is second rate compared. Seems every one of Celine's novels is topnotch. Proust might ...more

Kirk Alex If you love noir, please pick up a copy of Dan Stuart's excellent Marlow's Revenge. Far superior to anything Raymond Chandler ever wrote.
I also absolutely recommend any of the five crime Factory UK noirs written by the late genius Derek Raymond.
