Video Disaster!
Well, today was an interesting day. I did my second interview—this one about writing in relation to TORN. The lighting looked great on the video camera, but when I went to transfer it to my computer it was dark as mud and fuzzy as cotton balls! I have no idea what happened! I’m definitely not an expert when it comes to anything video related, but I’ve never had anything go so awry. So tomorrow my friend is going to try and figure out how to fix it. I really hope it works out. The only funny thing I noticed on the video is that I blink like a thousand times! I never knew my contacts bothered me that much or that my eyes get that dry! Or maybe it’s a nervous tic. LOL. Who knows? All I know is that it looks pretty funny! I never took a public speaking course in school (or speech) so I get pretty nervous when talking in front of a camera. I have no idea how celebrities or public speakers do it. But I guess they get plenty of practice. All I know is give me a pencil and paper any day over doing interviews! I’m definitely more comfortable writing. Well hopefully, with any luck, I’ll have something new to share with you soon. Keep your fingers crossed for me! Thanks!
Sincerely,
Amber :)

Authors Den
Hey there everyone,
Well, I was never able to recover my lost manuscript . . . so I’ve begun again with what little I had saved on my computer. Disheartening to say the least, but it will get done. In the meantime, I’ve been working on updating my website a bit. I changed some of the pictures and added information on some of the pages. For those of you who haven’t visited my site yet, I invite you to do so. The first three chapters of TORN are available there for you to check out to give you a sample of how the story starts out. My official website is at: http://www.closetcasepress.com . Oh, and you won’t want to miss out on all the latest news, so be sure to sign up for updates on the homepage! And if you want a peek into later in the book, chapter thirteen is available to preview on Authors Den. You can find me there at: http://www.authorsden.com/amberlehman . I hope that life is treating you well, whatever you’re doing, and to all the writers out there . . . keep up the hard work! It’s all worthwhile in the end!

Oh, what to do?!
Well, the worst has probably happened now, and now I'll need to begin again. Not entirely-but pretty damn close. For 3 days now I have searched morning through night for the hard copy of my sequel to TORN and its outline and it is nowhere to be found. All of my corrections, changes and notes were on the hard copy and now it seems I'm SOL. I do have the first 12 chapters on my computer . . . But they haven't been updated, I don't have an outline saved, and well those remaining chapters are history if things don't show up. I thought I had been so careful packing all of my writing material before the move but apparently not. I really hope it makes a surprise appearance somewhere. It would solve so many problems. I don't know whether to keep looking or just move on. Anyone have any advise?

Latest Update! Come visit my site! :)
Hey there, everyone!
I apologize for not updating my blog as much as I'd like to, but I've been in the process of moving and it's taking much longer than I thought! I guess you never know just how much junk you have until you decide to move! Anyways, one of my first priorities is to locate my boxes labeled "writing" on them so I can get back to doing what I love the most. I WILL find those boxes! LOL. In the the meantime, I've been working on updating my site lately-subtle changes here and there . . . But there is one exciting thing that I have decided to change completely . . . And that is the price of my book, TORN, for all of you who would like to read it. I am even making my price considerably lower than Amazon's current price and offering free shipping to boot. Also, all book orders placed through my website: http://www.ClosetCasePress.com/buynow... will be autographed copies. I hope that this will make TORN more accessible to those of you who would like to read it. So right now TORN is being offered at the flat rate of $8.00-cheaper than you'll probably find it anywhere. If you'd like to get an idea of what my book is about, you can always view my video book trailer on my website or read the "Reviews" page there too. Both are fairly comprehensive. I hope you'll take this opportunity to step into the world of modern teenagers today! Wishing you all happy reading!
All my best,
Amber :)

The New Covey Trailer Awards!
Hey there, Everyone!
I just recently entered my book, TORN in the New Covey Trailer Awards. If you have a free moment please visit their site and check out all the new cool book trailers! The only downside is that if you don't have the latest version of Flash Player, you'll only be able to see half of the video screen, which is a real downer since you miss half of the video and many of the critical parts. I believe my video TORN is listed as #12. If you view mine and happen to like it, please vote for it! Your support is greatly appreciated! You can find their site at: http://thenewcoveytrailerawards.blogs... . Happy viewing!

Receiving my medal
Today was a good day. I went for a short walk along my neighborhood to my PO Box. When I got to the post office there was a padded manila envelope waiting inside for me. I opened it to find my winner’s check and medal from The Next Generation Indie Book Awards! The medal is so heavy I was surprised! I’ve posted a picture of it in my Facebook photo album if you’d like to see what it looks like. I was pretty happy. :)

Lesbian Summer Reading List for 2010
So . . . I decided to do a random search on the web on my book TORN. I wanted to see if all my efforts at being on the internet were paying off, and one pleasant surprise shocked me. TORN made the Lesbian Summer Reading List for 2010! TORN is one of only 10 books on the list. I couldn’t believe it because there is so much competition out there— as I’m sure you’re all very well aware. So to be included in this list really meant a lot to me. So slowly—very slowly—I guess my efforts are paying off. Just goes to show you that you never know what you’re going to find on the internet! If you’d like to see the other books on the list, you can find them at: http://lesbianlife.about.com/od/lesbi... Happy summer reading!

Happy National GLBT Book Month!
June 1–30. Created to increase the recognition of gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender writing. Begun in 1992 by the Publishing Triangle, June was selected in honor of the anniversary of the 1969 Stonewall Riot in New York City. It was this brave resistance to police harassment that kick-started the gay pride movement in the US. Libraries, bookstores, publishers and bibliophiles everywhere are invited to form a chorus line and celebrate with the community. Annually, the month of June. For info: Gay Lesbian Bisexual Transgender Roundtable, c/o American Library Association, Office for Literacy and Outreach Services, 50 E Huron St, Chicago, IL 60611.
