Tropical Paradise Tag and Other Fun Creations

Creativity is not a driving force. It happens. It creates itself and you have to be open.

-Mayumi Oda, artist and writer

Keeping my hands busy while I'm lying around bringing this little baby to full term has given me some opportunities to craft that I might not have taken otherwise. Here are some recent creations:

Delighting in Mothers: Ribbon Crafts, Remembering You and More

As mothers we carry a child, or several children, one at a time, of course, for approximately nine months, go through labor {otherwise known as hard work} to have this child.  To some mothering comes naturally, and other women struggle with certain aspects of motherhood.  While going through your everyday life of wiping bottoms and noses and cleaning fingerprints off the wall, it is easy to forget what the big picture is-or is there a big picture?  We think there is.   Read the...

Book Review: Diary of a Midwife

Diary of a Midwife Diary of a Midwife by Juliana van Olphen-Fehr

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I read this book in four days. It was very well written and I enjoyed the birth stories. It was laid out nicely and easy to follow. I hope she does a follow up book to let us know more of the changes she has made in the medical community for paving the way for midwives and home births.
