Daily Deal Round-Up!
Amazon is doing a round-up of this year’s top-selling Daily Deals, and WOOL is among them! If you missed out on the chance to grab this for a song, now’s the time. And if you’ve got any readers on your wish list, you can get them 540 pages of story for two bucks! Knock some people off your shopping list. Lots of other good deals here as well.

Cyber Monday on Shindig!
I’m doing a meet and greet on this new website called Shindig on Monday. It’s a chance to chat with other readers, meet some more authors, and badger me with questions. And I just found out that the thing can hold up to 500 people! So pile in!

Off to the presses!
A few of you have demanded a print version of Second Shift. The proof was accepted today, and the first batch has been ordered. If you want a signed copy, you can order one by following the link below.

And I finally updated the graphics so the Omnibus has the correct cover. It only took me 6 months to get to this!

The Art of Ben Adams
The set of limited edition Ben Adams prints is nearly complete! He just got the Lukas prints in, and these might be the most gorgeous of the bunch. So many fine details in both the art and the story-related additions.
You can order the print here. Each set is limited to 50 prints!
Ben keeps every penny of this money. You are supporting a talented and hardworking artist, and you’re getting a signed and numbered limited edition print for a measly $20 + shipping. You can’t beat that.
He also has a few of the last two prints as well. These look great hanging on my wall. Think of them as collectibles!
Last Days to Vote!
Today and tomorrow are the LAST days to vote on the Goodreads Choice Awards! I’m up in THREE categories. In exchange for not sending you a SINGLE mailer, all I ask in return is your vote!

Miami Book Fair
Down in Miami for the International Book Fair, which has been going on all week but really kicks off today. Streets full of books, a schedule packed full of interesting panels to attend, and a beautiful city at the right time of year. If you’re in the area, you really should check this out.

Release Day!
Exciting news. The audiobook version of I, ZOMBIE is now out! Audible produced the book using an all-star cast of narrators, so you get different voices for each of the zombies. Amber is listening to it right now, and it sounds AMAZING! I’m so excited about this release.
In other news, I hit the “publish” button on SECOND SHIFT a few hours ago. So, uh, yeah. Should be out by tomorrow sometime. Amazon, Kobo, B&N. Something is wrong with the iBookstore upload process, so that might take another day or two.

The opposite of real elections…
So, GoodReads just announced the semifinalists in their 2012 Award categories. You all are brilliant, as WOOL made the list in science fiction (and I’m still somehow clinging to the author category). In real elections, almost nobody votes in the primaries. They wait until the very end. I have a feeling the GoodReads Awards might do the opposite by wearing people out early.
However, if you feel like waiting in line for zero seconds and clicking a choice in an easy-to-understand ballot, I certainly won’t stop you!
Update: It’s just been pointed out to me that the power of your write-in votes placed I, ZOMBIE in the semi-finals for best horror book of 2012!! That’s amazing!! I wonder if that means my vote for Harrison Ford for President was counted as well?!

Hanging with Jack Fogg
Yesterday was quite the treat. I had lunch at one of my favorite NY dives with Jack Fogg, my editor at Random House UK. The cool thing about meeting someone you’ve had a lot of online interaction with is that you pick up where a handful of conversations have already left off. This cat has had an amazing life already, and he’s only 31. The list of books he’s acquired and authors he’s worked with is stunning. One of his recent releases is the new Rod Stewart biography, which I’m dying to read after hearing what went into the writing of the book.
We ended up walking from SoHo back to Times Square, with a detour through the NY Public Library and a pub. It was fascinating to hear his perspective on the publishing business, what makes for a good editor, and about his own writing. Jack is the reason the UK edition is a tighter work than the original. He’s also the one riding my ass to get the next books complete, so the rest of you can ease up a bit if you like.
