Archie Comics Teams With BlueToad to Expand Digital Distribution
From the official press release:
DECEMBER 19, 2013 – NEW YORK – Archie Comics announced this week a partnership with BlueToad, a leading technology provider in the digital publishing industry. The purpose of the partnership is to extend the reach of Archie’s Digital Comics into new digital marketplaces and territories.
The Archie Comics App on the Windows Store, announced on December 3rd, was the first project completed under the partnership and marked the first time an Archie Comics App was made available for Windows 8.1. BlueToad has also developed an Archie Comics Android App that is available now on the Amazon Appstore for Android. Both of these Apps include favorite Archie series including Archie, Betty & Veronica, Life With Archie, graphic novels and digital exclusives. There is even a subscription option that gives instant access to a selection of comics for only $9.99 per month.
"We're very excited about Archie's continuous growth in the digital market and by partnering with the esteemed company BlueToad, we're confident they will propel us to new heights," stated Archie Comics Publisher and co-CEO Jon Goldwater.

Archie Comics Leads the Way in FCBD 2014 Gold-Level Title Announcements
Comic Book Resources has reported on the announcement of the Gold-level titles for 2014 Free Comic Book Day, which leads off with an Archie Digest! Free Comic Book Day is a single day - the first Saturday in May each year - when participating comic book shops across North America and around the world give away comic books FREE to anyone who comes into their stores. This year's event takes place on Saturday, May 3rd, 2014. Check with your local comic shop to see if it's participating in this fun event for the whole family!

USA TODAY Highlights Archie Comics' New Partnership With Toys For Tots
USA TODAY reports on Archie Comics' new partnership with Toys for Tots for Archie's Give a Book Program, a new ongoing initiative for comic fans and others to donate comics to disadvantaged youth. Archie recently donated one million dollars worth of books for Toys for Tots, with additional plans to donate books annually. Maj. Bill Grein (Ret.), Vice President of the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation, stated that "Thanks to Archie Comics, we are able to reach thousands of additional children who might otherwise be overlooked this Christmas season."
This is just another momentous step in line with Archie's continuous efforts to make a difference and make the world a better place, as evidenced in several anti-bullying campains. "That's what Riverdale is," Archie Comics Publisher and Co-CEO Goldwater says. "Riverdale is an accepting place for everyone, and that's why Kevin Keller and everyone is welcome in Riverdale. For us to spread the message is super important to us."
