Book Contest: Help Me Tweet It Up!

Tweeted blog contests are a double edged sword. If there is a contest out on a blog site, and those entries can be kept at a minimum, then those who have entered the contest obviously have a better chance of winning the prize. So why would anybody want to promote the contest with twitter? Isn't it better to enter the contest, and then keep it secret? Makes sense to me.
I want to do an experiment… I have a contest going on over at Goodreads. It is for a free copy of my book (a g...

Book Review – I'll Know You By Heart, by Kimberly Job

I don't read romance. Occasionally I will read a suspense novel that has romance in it, and I know this book qualifies as romantic suspense, but it is not the norm for my reading shelf. As far as the romantic element of this story goes, Kimberly did a fine job with it…in my humble opinion…even though I am not qualified to have an opinion within the genre.
But I am qualified to judge one element of this book, and that is the part which pertains to the abuse portrayed in the...

Book Review – Summer in Paris, by Michele Ashman Bell

Summer in Paris is a YA Coming of Age/Romance novel, and therefore certainly not the type of book I normally read. But I was intrigued by the title and the back cover copy. And I think as an author it's a good thing for me to read different types of books. It keeps the saw sharp.
I can say without hesitation that I really liked the book. The setting of the story is in Paris, Idaho and much of the action takes place around the small towns which line the shores of Bear Lake, a...

Storymakers Conference Contest for Seat at VIP Table

The time for the drawing has come…
This was a fun contest. I really got a kick out of the creative entries. In the end, I narrowed my choices down to four:
Andrea's contacts, Carolyn's puppet, Deborah's Lamborghini, and Taffy's brownies.
It was a tough race. It really was. I wanted those brownies. I also wanted the puppet. But in the end, I had to do a random drawing between the four entries. And the winner is: DEBORAH!
Now I want to know what color that Lamborghini is…
Deborah,...

Book Launch Today – THE THORN, book one of THE CHRONICLES OF GAN

Today is the day on which I go from being a writer to being a published author. This has been a wonderful journey so far. I have met so many authors, publishers, and editors…people who I would have normally been afraid to meet in person. And it has been a blast.
If you come to the book launch party today (Barnes & Noble at The Gateway, SLC, UT, 6:00 – 8:30 pm), please don't be afraid to come meet me. I don't bite. I will have chocolate…
I plan to post pictures of the book...

Methods of participating in the contest included posting about the contest on personal blogs, becoming a Twitter follower and tweeting about the contest, becoming a fan on Facebook, and following my blog through Networked Blogs. Some folks did them all. Others did a few. According to my records, the winner did three out of four methods.
Consulting random.org…… typing in the MIN and MAX number of entries……..
