Happy Valentine’s Day

I’d be a very remiss romance author if I didn’t blog on Valentine’s Day.  And because I love, love, love romantic movies, I’d be equally remiss if I didn’t mention a few of my favorites…

MOONSTRUCK  Moonstruck (Deluxe Edition)

As far as I’m concerned, this movie is very nearly perfect.  Nicolas Cage’s raw passion.  Cher’s dreamy walk down the streets of Brooklyn.  The Met!  I can watch this movie over and over.  And over. I really should snap out of it…

AMERICAN PRESIDENT  The American President

Oh – what isn’t to love about this fantastic movie.  Annette Benning as a strong, smart woman who finds a man who loves that about her.  Michael Douglas looking like he’s having a lot of fun playing the Prez.  Pure confectionary delight.

YOU’VE GOT MAIL  You've Got Mail

Confession – if this movie is on, I watch it.  It doesn’t matter what else is on.

Second confession – if this movie is on back-to-back, I watch it through twice.

Third confessoin – if this movie runs all week as a lot of the cable networks are prone to do, I WATCH IT EACH AND EVERY TIME.  I love it that much.  (And I still own it, so I can watch it whenever I want, too!)

SLEEPLESS IN SEATTLE  Sleepless in Seattle (Special Edition)

Another Meg Ryan/Tom Hanks winner.  Even though they spend the entire movie apart, we viewers just know they’re meant to be together.  And when the Empire State Building lights up with a big red heart.  Well….how many more signs do you need that tell you this is movie perfection?

LAWS OF ATTRACTION  Laws of Attraction

Pierce Brosnan and Julianne Moore as dueling divorce lawyers who fall in love (it has the added benefit of a twice-shirtless Michael Sheen). I absolutely love this movie – it has it all – the perpetual sexiness that is Pierce Brosnan and a dual-setting of New York and Ireland.  Heaven.

So there you have it – the Addison Fox movie cannon.  This is only the tip of the iceberg, but when it comes to frothy, fun romantic comedies, these are some of the gems that never fail to put a smile on my face.

Wishing you all a very happy Valentine’s Day and much love in  your heart.

XOXO,

Addison

Endings and Beginnings

So here it is…my very first blog post on Addisonfox.com

I've been secretly dreading this post (seriously…my most awesome web designer, Liz Bemis, has wanted it for 6 weeks so we can launch the site.)  But the thing of it is, I have struggled terribly with what to write.  Writing 2 books back to back was easier than this blog post.

Seriously.

And then, in a moment of blazing clarity in front of morning TV, I realized this post was all about endings and beginnings. As I watched Diane Sawyer say her farewells on Good Morning America, I realized that each thing we end also allows us to go off and begin something new. The idea fest continued as I watched my best friend graduate from law school. Add in a move and a new day job of my own and, well, I had my post.

So here it is. The end of my life as a fairly anonymous writer and the beginning of my life in the blogosphere.

I promise this will be a place to celebrate books and words and authors.

I promise to blog as often as I can (which doesn't mean every day, but it also doesn't mean 6 weeks worth of wait as poor Liz has had)

Finally…I promise to have fun and make this a place you'd like to visit again.  I landed the most awesome gig in the whole wide world – I get to make up things for a living. I'm a lucky girl.

I am so grateful to have you join me. Welcome!!
