NEW! A Very Distant Affair
New novel - A Very Distant Affair
Hello there.
Today I am thrilled and delighted to let you know that A VERY DISTANT AFFAIR is now PUBLISHED!A Very Distant Affair
This is the 4th book in the 'Very Affair' series and is classed as women's literature.
The story takes place between England and Australia... a short description...
Cheryl Taylor, a landscape artist appears to have it all. Apart from fame and fortune, her attentive husband Daniel is brilliant at managing her business matters. Cheryl has allowed him full rule of her affairs from the day they were married…but twenty years later, she wonders whether she shouldn’t be quite so naive. Daniel is controlling and as she learns from one friend during an intimate conversation. “Diamonds aren’t a girl’s best friend you know. They are a man’s best friend. They’re great at getting men off the hook, and keeping their women quiet.”
Feeling uncomfortable and troubled over her friend’s warning, Cheryl decides there is more to life than being successful and at the beck and call of a manipulative husband. She sets out to find what she really wants from life, and to her horror, discovers one earth-shattering secret after the next.
Her life in turmoil she visits Australia, where on a previous trip, she found contentment from an unexpected quarter. Michel, a widower, owns a winery and boutique hotel in New South Wales, and is as different from Daniel as chalk is to cheese.
Cheryl is drawn to this gentle Australian of French descent and feels her new-found strong will wavering. She returns to London to offer Daniel an ultimatum, only to discover the final shock which threatens all their lives.
My new book is available on all good book sites and is discounted - for a limited time only - at 99c/99p. After that period it will then retail at normal price.
I do hope you enjoy your read - please let me know your thoughts afterwards - and if you care to leave a review then it will be very much appreciated.
Thank you!

New novel pending!
Hello!
I can't believe it's been about 6 months since my last book came out. Since that time I've had a hectic life - new grandson (aah!), a visit to Australia, rehearsing for Shakespeare's 'All's Well that Ends Well' this coming June in Curium ancient amphitheatre and searching for a new house.
So in all, time has been well spent and at last the NEW book is in the edit stage and, fingers crossed, will be published some time in June.
I've had a break from psychological thrillers and murder mystery and listened to my women's fiction/romance readers who have begged me (thank you lovely readers!), to write a fifth in the 'Very Affair' series.
A VERY DISTANT AFFAIR - set in London and Australia, will soon be here! So please watch this space...I will be making it available as a pre-order in the next couple of weeks at a very special price.
Take care everyone xx

A young woman is found raped and strangled near Ella’s home. The latest victim in a serial killer’s rampage across Surrey.
Ella’s boyfriend Michael, a police constable on the team conducting the investigations of the crime, pleads with Ella to be vigilant at all times…the killer is bound to strike again.
When a handsome, enigmatic stranger rents the empty apartment above Ella, the brutal death toll rises…but against her better judgement, Ella doesn’t listen to her boyfriend’s warnings about strangers until it is far too late…

In the Footsteps of Elephants
Our arrival in Buffalo Springs, Samburu National reserve. Our home for the next few nights.
One of the residents at the Aberdare Country Club Hi there.
During July and August this year I was fortunate to visit Kenya and Tanzania. I wrote a few posts on Facebook and I was subsequently amazed by how many people read, commented and asked if I'd write more about this beautiful country and her people.
I am fortunate enough to have now visited Kenya three times, and my love affair with the game reserves and National Parks really began in the 90's when I was invited by Somak Travel to experience my first taste of wild Africa. Because Somak Travel demonstrated such excellent knowledge and care to detail on this trip and my next one, I didn't hesitate to contact them when it came to arrange our special holiday this year.
This trip, my husband, Chris, and I flew by Emirates to Nairobi for our first night stay in the gorgeous Nairobi Serena Hotel. Considering we were in the heart of this frantic capital city, the hotel was an oasis of calm and tranquility. It had been over 20 years since I'd last stayed here and I wasn't prepared for the enormous increase in traffic. A journey of only a few miles can take an hour at certain times, and this is worth remembering if you want to cross the city during 'rush' hour by taxi.
Somak Travel has a dedicated compliment of knowledgeable staff and these people eased our way both before and during our trip. Nothing seemed to be too much trouble for them. 10/10 so far!
After leaving Nairobi, we had our first day travelling 'up country', en route to the stunning Aberdare mountains for one night's stay in the Aberdare Country Club. The journey took just under four hours and during that time we climbed from a height of 5,500 feet (1.680m) to 6250 feet (1905m) - if you get a headache put it down to the altitude and not the wine!
The Aberdare Country Club is gorgeous old colonial. Set in the national park, there is a fenced off area where you are taken by a guide to explore and view game. Within the large grounds of the hotel however, we were within waking distance of warthogs, gazelle, giraffes and zebra. Magic! and are first taste of wild life up front and not behind the bars of a zoo.
That night we enjoyed wonderful cuisine, and then afterwards we curled up in bed with hot water bottles after enjoying a night cap outside warming our hands and faces in front of the fire pit. High altitude has to have some compensation!
The next day we had another four hour drive, through sumptuous countryside as we made our way to Buffalo springs, in the Samburu game reserve - one of my favourite game reserves.
We'd driven north across the equator, and I could hardly wait to see our camp which was to be our base for a few nights. Ashnil Camp exceeded all expectations. Superb accommodation, great food and the game viewing excellent. Samburu is not as large as the Masai Mara or the magnificent Serengeti in Tanzania, but it has its own uniqueness...fewer visitors and species of animals which are not found elsewhere...reticulated giraffe, Grevy's zebra, gerenuk and Somali ostrich. We were also lucky to view lion, less than half a mile from our lodge and on the last morning we were woken by the sound of lions roaring as they made a kill.
A fantastic trip so far and loads more to share...please look out for part two of my elephant walk blog.
Thanks for dropping by,
Faithx
The author waiting before we were allowed into Samburu
Reticulated giraffe
Our first elephants - my favourite animals.
Serious drought conditions. The almost dried up Ewaso Nyiro River. We did find pockets of water further afield.
The amazing view of the river from our tented accommodation.
This is a WILD elephant! You can hardly get any closer than that...all that's separating her from Chris is a flimsy fence! Fantastic experience.
Young lion...see the spots. Just one of many we saw in Samburu.

Book Blurb:
Even on a small island the darkest secrets can’t stay buried forever…
It began like any normal day in Cyprus…except it wasn’t…the body of a woman brutally murdered and discovered in a shallow grave changes all that. It is only days later when amateur sleuth, Diana Rivers and old flame, Chief Superintendent Adam Lovell discover a second female victim…only this time the discovery is even more chilling and shocks the island inhabitants.
Joining forces with local policeman, Sergeant Yiannis Loukiades, the three embark on a journey which takes them on the fringes of humanity. Disturbing secrets are unearthed. They are on the hunt for killers who will stop at nothing in their hunt for one vital woman.
As the bodies mount up, the detectives ask themselves one question. What is the reason for the women’s’ deaths and their horrific mutilations? With the investigation quickly gathering momentum, Diana finds herself exposed to great danger…in the sights of a lethal individual who’ll put a stop to her meddling. Each move could be deadly… vicious in its outcome…can the team bring a halt to this brutal trade?

Review of Kith & Kill by Thea Hartley
Interesting storyline and credible plotKith & Kill heroine, Resa James, is different. She’s not a detective but a psychologist, and is called in to assist the police in identifying the type of person who would kill childless couples.
The author, Thea Hartley, has a good formula with her heroine, as Resa is uniquely placed to identify the connection.
As the story unfolds – at a decent pace – more details come to light. Characters are introduced at the right time for the reader to assimilate the information, and I found a good mix of clues popping up here and there.
Running through the novel is a lot of interesting information about infertility and clinics – a large part of the book concerns this, as it is the basis of the plot.
Apart from a scattering of typos and minor grammar mistakes, the book on the whole is taken from a good idea and makes a credible story.
There are more books planned in the series.
