Doggos

Tonight I’m thinking about all the doggos out there who are not celebrating the 4th of July because they hate fireworks. Remain calm, my furry friends, this day will not last forever!

My dogs

My dogs…

My dogs go crazy barking whenever someone rings the doorbell.

They also go crazy barking when there is a doorbell on television.

Whenever given the opportunity, my dogs will lick you.

Bear grabs one of his toys and runs around the house for several minutes, happy, whenever a member of the family comes home.

Bear is a dog named after an animal. He jumps at the back door to be let back in and cherishes nuzzling dirty socks.

Lulu is mischievous and will stand outside watching you until you are out of sight … then she escapes from the yard.

These are my dogs.

Elevators

Random thought for today…

When you’re standing, waiting for an elevator, are you one of those people who stands right up in front of the doors so that you can go in as soon as it dings and opens?

Or do you put a few feet of space between you and the elevator so that people can come out before you charge on board?

Despite believing we should all step back and give people time to exit, my natural inclination is to park myself right there at the elevator doors, the closer the better, and I don’t have any good reason for this except that I’m eager to go to the next place and do the next thing. Impatience or excitement, call it what you want.

And, that’s it. After months and months of nothing new from me. That. Is. It.

A Column of Fire

Follett has produced another epic piece of work, this one set in the 1500s in Europe. While his style is a little more verbose than that of the majority of my favorite writers (his work favors Dickens), I enjoy it a great deal because he really is a master storyteller. And I always enjoy his ability to seamlessly insert his fictional characters into actual history. Historical fiction at its finest.

Thanks for a beautiful story, Mr. Follett!

Amazing Deal on Harlan Coben’s Home

Harlan Coben is one of my favorite authors … a modern master of the suspense/thriller genre.

His novel, HOME, is available today on Kindle for only $2.99!!

I don’t work for him, and we’re not pals … I am just trying to pass along a good deal.

If you were looking for a low-cost opportunity to give his books a try, here it is. (You’re Welcome!)

Happy Reading & Have an awesome day!

A quote from this guy…

Interesting.

I found a quote from one of my books on this site in the

“Top 54 Quotes for my ex-girlfriend”

category.

Fort Hood

Hello!

I had a great time last week at the Fort Hood Main Exchange, talking to people and signing books.

If you were one of the folks that bought a book … thank you, you’re awesome and I love you. Well, you know, in a strictly plutonic way since I’m happily married.

I just realized that a bunch of you bought a copy of DEAD ENDS and that I usually give a free ebook of Dead Ends to people that subscribe to my newsletter. So, if you are one of those people, shoot me a line and I’ll hit you with a free copy of Circus if you get on the email list.

Again, it was totally awesome and I can’t wait to go back.

Wait, what? Go back?

If you were out of town enjoying your Padre’s Day, or working, or too hung over to get out of bed, or whatever, and missed me last week … I’m coming back again! Thursday through Sunday I’ll be parked in the main entrance of the PX near GNC. Stop by and shout at me.
