As You Like It: RSC Performance Tips
Again, when I was in England, I got to perform as Rosalind in 3.2 - her first scene as the boy Ganymede having a very strange conversation with Orlando. I'd like to share some of the notes my teachers, Vivien Heilbron and Bernard Lloyd gave to me.
Rosalind is an enchantress. She controls a situation and takes over it. She gives commands. There's

As You Like It: RSC Hints
When I was in England, the show my teachers (former RSC actors) kept circling around to was As You Like It. Some of their wisdom here:

Preliminary Thoughts: Performances
It's that time of year again to look towards the Summer Shakespeare show...this year, As You Like It. In this post, I'm going to talk about a few performance thoughts, from seeing various versions of the show to being in it myself.
A Disclaimer: All the recorded versions are really awful and I don't particularly recommend any of them. However.

It's gonna be a long long time...
So, since January, I had four world premieres, two readings, and begun work on a fifth world premiere - all of original plays. Since February, I've either been in the week before tech or tech/performance. And frankly...I'm kaput! But here's the most recent work: A Comedy of Murders.
Mood: Chill and chilly
Music: Mental "French Riviera" playlist...currently

When Chesterton was down on his money
He would sigh, pick up his pen and say, "I had better write some more Fr. Brown mysteries." Then he would march them down to the publisher and be able to pay his creditors.
I needs the money.
Today, I went to PAC (incorrectly as it turned out) for the first class of my Advanced Musical Theatre class that I teach (it starts next week - oops!) - and as I

So, we just started ATTWN - very exciting, first play in the round! - and I just finalized the calendar for Tartuffe - which play I've been waiting fourteen years to put on.
