Fiancé by Friday Excerpt Countdown - ONE MORE DAY

Here's a snippet for you...

"You're staring, Neil."

He swallowed and took a step toward her. The shoes brought her closer to his height, but he still had to look down at her by several inches. Gwen stood perfectly still as he reached out and unbuttoned the shirt until the creamy expanse of her breasts were clearly visible.

He licked his lips and ignored the feel of her soft skin as it grazed the backs of his fingers. He then gathered the edges of the bottom of the shirt, undid another button so only two were fastened, and tied the ends in a knot, tucking it under her her ample breasts. With her midriff exposed, he stepped back and examined his creation.

"Perfect."

Fiancé by Friday Countdown Excerpt!

This was actually suppose to be posted this morning, but better late than never, yes?

Here is a fun excerpt from FIANCÉ BY FRIDAY, as promised...

Karen and Gwen have fun with new neighbors:

"Oh my God, Gwen, get up here!" Karen laughed as she yelled fromm upstairs. "Quick."

Gwen hustled up the stairs and found Karen hovering over her bedroom window. She'd pulled the curtains back enough to peek out.

"What is it?"

"Look!"

Gwen switched positions with her roommate and narrowed her eyes. It was late at night and the neighborhood was dark... except for the light coming from the new neighbor's hot tub. A couple of days had passed since their arrival. In the jacuzzi sat two people, and from what she could see one was a woman and other a man. If Gwen had to guess, she'd say that they were an older couple Maybe retirement age.

"What am I looking for?"

"Just keep watching."

Gwen was about to leave her spying perch when the woman stood to move to a different spot.

"She's naked."

Karen started laughing. "Ewww!"

"We have naked neighbors..." I never saw this back home.

Karen peeked beside her all the while giggling. "Look how hairy he is."

Gwen averted her eyes. "We shouldn't stare."

"They shouldn't parade around naked."

"They're in their own yard."

"Surrounded by two-story houses." Karen flashed a brilliant smile. "That's the crazy crap you never get when you're locked behind security gates at an estate."

My first...

The very first car I owned was a $300 junkyard find. The cracked windshield was so damn bad the cop that pulled me over felt too sorry for me to issue a fix-it ticket. I named that beater JAKE because of the license plate number JKE - ### I don't remember the numbers.

Those who knew me then remember, I'm sure, that I attempted to drive ole' Jake to So. California 4 days after High School Graduation pulling a U-Hall...Jake was a 74' Toyota Corolla...at least I think it was a 74...anyway, the brakes stopped if you put enough fluid in the thingy and downshifted on time.

In perfect teenage fashion, I ignored the check engine light because I had a oil change before I left Washington State... The engine told me I was a moron in a little town called Yreka... not Eureka... some 700 miles from my destination at 1 AM.

So yeah... I've come a long way, baby.
Check out my new ride. BMW M Series 650i
I could buy the house I grew up in a couple times over for the price of this baby. Don't be too impressed, the house was cheap.

The car that Fiance by Friday bought.

It's time for Single by Saturday's Cover Reveal

As I count down the last few weeks before Fiance by Friday is released...and the world is given Neil and Gwen's story...it's also the time for me to show everyone Single by Saturday's stunning cover.

Someone recently said in a review that they were worried that 'Weekday Bride Series' meant they were only going to have five books to pick from. But as I've proven here with the title, that isn't the case. I do plan on seven books for this series...and who knows where I will go from here.

The official blurb for Single by Saturday isn't ready quite yet, but I can tell you that this is Karen's story. Believe me, after reading Neil and Gwen...you'll want to know all about Karen!

So, dear readers...what do you think?

Great cover, eh?

Publishers Weekly Reviews Fiancé by Friday!

In the sizzling third Weekday Brides contemporary (after Married by Monday and Wife by Wednesday), Bybee takes an elegant titled lady, a dark emotionally guarded hero, a menacing stalker, and a cast of distinctive characters mixing it all up into an unusual courtship tale full of danger and sexual tension. After securing a new client for Alliance, a matchmaking service for the wealthy, socialite Lady Gwen Harrison returns to her state-of-the-art monitored home to once again unsuccessfully flirt with her bodyguard, Neil MacBain. Former Marine Neil is not immune to the ravishing Gwen, but haunting recurring nightmares of military mission gone awry and a reluctance to mix pleasure with business lead him to suppress his feelings. Inexplicable security breaches, electrocuted neighbors, dead birds, and an implausible suicide propel Neil to whisk Gwen away from a revenge-seeking stalker, and the closeness of the on-the-run, off-the-grid adventure sparks passionate lovemaking. While the pace lags mid-novel, it regains momentum, and the intriguing characters add emotional depth, ensuring readers will race to the perfectly fitting finish.

Not Quite Enough ~ Excerpt

In celebration of my new contract...the one that will take my Not Quite Trilogy to a Series. I thought I'd share with you a little taste of Not Quite Enough.

This amazing cover will give you a glimpse into Monica's story...but none of you have met her hero yet.

Blurb:

Monica Mann has made it her life’s work to save lives. After an earthquake and tsunami hit the shores of Jamaica, she volunteers her trauma skills with Borderless Nurses. Calculating and methodical, Monica creates order out of whatever chaos she finds.

Until she finds the perpetually barefoot, impossibly masculine Trent Fairchild.

No one can pin him down. No, really. He's a pilot and manages a small fleet of choppers on his adopted island home. Hopelessly drawn to one another, they manage to slip away from the wreckage to get a little closer. And they get a lot closer than expected when aftershocks from the earthquake trap them in their own life-or-death scenario. Paradise has brought them together. Now will it tear them apart?

Just a little set up for this scene... Monica doesn't like flying...and well, Trent is a pilot. Nuff said...onward!

Excerpt:

Monica glanced up at the gray skies and frowned. “So, Trent,” she began again. “Are you the only one shuffling the foreign medical staff around the island?”

He shook his head. “There are a few others. Why?”

He kept his eyes on where he walked and avoided her questioning gaze.

“Just wondering.”

He didn’t buy that. “Just wondering?”

“Seems like anyone could drive me to the clinic.”

He walked her behind the hospital and up a short path to where his helicopter waited. “Anyone could drive you.”

She hesitated when she saw her ride. “I thought you said you were driving me.”

“I am. After a short flight to where my car is parked.”

She turned a full circle. “Can’t we just drive?”

Trent moved in front of her and removed his sunglasses. “It’s a short flight back to the airport, then a thirty minute drive. That’s if the roads are cleared.”

“Can’t we just—” Her ice blue eyes never left his.

“I didn’t kill you the first time, Monica. I won’t this time either.”

She swallowed.

“It was better thinking you volunteered to take me instead of being the only person capable of it.”

Actual fear hid behind her eyes. “Why’s that?”

“I prefer flirting to flying.”

A slow easy smile met his lips. He knew then, irrevocably, that Monica thought about him at some point during her short stint on the island.

He replaced his sunglasses and reached for her hand. “How about a little of both?”

“Damn,” she mumbled as she let him drag her to the aircraft. He opened the door on the passenger side and quickly shoved her bag in the back.

Inside, he reached across her body and latched the passenger door. “I could have done that,” she said.

He caught her eyes over the rim of his sunglasses and winked. “That would be the flirting portion of our flight.”

20 Years Ago Today

Twenty years ago today...Mr. Bybee, not his real name, but we'll go with it for today... and I tied the knot. Yep, we hitched up after six long years of a dating.

Twenty years, two careers, two kids, two houses...several pets and probably twenty pounds later and we can say we've been married for two decades.

Marriage is a journey, not a destination. It's full of serious highs and plenty of lows. From amazing family vacations to the quite laughter over the same thing on the TV... from the hospitals to the funeral homes... marriage is working through the trials that life gives you holding someone else's hand. Sometimes it's holding someone else's hand up to keep them from falling, and sometimes it's having that someone hold you to keep you from drowning in quick sand. And every once in a while it's just holding hands with quiet understanding and love.

For twenty years of holding my hand... I love you!
