Coming Soon!

Mayon

The Philippines, 1946

After being discharged from the Marines, John Buchanan takes a position as overseer for plantation owner Ignacio Saenz. The work is good, but the real draw for John is Mount Mayon, the active volcano looming in the island’s horizon. Finally he has a chance to put his interrupted studies in vulcanology into practice.

Gregorio Delgado, the current overseer, isn’t thrilled at being replaced. However, he can’t ignore his attraction to John, who appears to be a kindred spirit. But John throws mixed signals—and more importantly, he pays too much attention to Margarita, one of Ignacio’s marriageable daughters.

As John and Gregorio begin a tour of the haciendas, John discovers he has far more in common with his new acquaintance than he thought possible. Torn between honor and desire, John struggles to define who he is and what Gregorio could mean to him. Like the unpredictable volcano, equal parts beauty and danger, Gregorio becomes an obsession that could erupt at any minute and destroy them both.

Paul Richmond created this unique cover for my upcoming m/m romance set in the Philippines. Release date is November 19. Follow the link to the Coming Soon page where you can pre-order your copy. http://www.dreamspinnerpress.com/store/upcoming_products.php

Stay tuned for contests and giveaways.

Reviews-Horizons Series

The Horizons series was recently reviewed over at Hearts On Fire Reviews. Horizons was my first published novel (2009)and appeared on several best seller lists for many weeks. Despite some errors in football timelines (I claim first novel growing pains) it's a great love story and continues to be very popular with readers. Taste is the spin-off and Daddio is the recently published sequel. Here are the links to the reviews.

Drive by...

Here's one of the reason's I haven't been around much.

The rest under the cut.

I made a comment on a friend's post the other day and she wanted to know where in heck I've been hiding. It dawned on me that I haven't said boo since the release of Daddio last July.

To recap-the evil day job has been very challenging. My assistant of seven years up and quit with only two weeks notice. Finding someone to replace her was very difficult. Training and dealing with a lot of crap I haven't had to deal with in years has drained the life out of me. It's put extra stress on my hands which are already rotten to begin with (carpal tunnel).

Sundays are usually reserved for my darling grandson who turns one next month. Can you believe it? Wasn't I just announcing his birth? He's already walking and pulling my books off the lower shelves. Thank goodness I get to wave goodbye at the end of the day:)

Here's another photo of the little hellion. Don't get me wrong-I love him with all my heart but babies are a lot of work!

Now it's September and I'm getting ready to start the official edits for my first historical, Mayon, which will release some time in November. I have no blurb or book cover to share at this time, but I will, as soon as I get more info.

My crazy writing schedule continues, despite the wonky hands, simply because it keeps me sane. My wonderful muse is whispering in my ears and I'd be a fool to ignore her.

A quick "thank you" to everyone who's bought, read, and commented on "Daddio". I'm very glad you enjoyed the book:) It was fun to re-visit that universe.

Till the next one...everyone be safe, healthy, and happy.

New release and excerpt!

I've posted another excerpt of my latest release, Daddio , on my website. The link is on my sidebar or here: http://mickieashling.com.

My talented friend Sam aka marilla_pm67 re-designed my site a few weeks ago. Sam patiently listened to all my requests and put them all together in this great showcase for my work. This excerpt from Daddio is different from the one posted on the Dreamspinner site. Enjoy!
