What’s Brewing – I’m Saved!
I’m saved!
Not a popular phrase these days. It’s old style. Reeking with visions of crazy people yelling at sane people on street corners, holding Jesus Saves signs, scrawled in big bold letters on cardboard.
And yet!
What if I were not saved? Yeah – I know the answer to that. Without Jesus, I would be a mouthy, self-indulgent woman. I would have been married and divorced a bazillion times and spent every last dime of alimony on Go-Go boots and facelifts. I would be friendless, hopeless, and useless. I would have died younger than I am today. And my unsaved life wouldn’t have ended well.
But I’m saved. I’m saved from the life I would have lived. And I’m saved for live the life I never thought I could have lived. I’m saved from – Guilt. Shame. Regret. Fear. And an eternity of self-loathing. And I’m save for – Life. Joy. Purpose. Forgiveness. Freedom. And an eternity in the presence of the King.
King Jesus.
The Name above all names.
The Name that makes me proud to say, “I’m saved.”
