Dead Air is semifinalist in Mensa book award!
Dead Air by Deborah Shlian and Linda Reid has been named a semi-finalist for The Sharp-Writ Book Awards offered by the Smart Book Lovers, a Mensa special-interest group, which believes in all forms of unique self-expression but particularly in those of a literary persuasion.
Winners will be announced at the combined Annual Gathering of American and Canadian Mensa at Detroit on July 3rd/4th – stay tuned for details and keep your fingers crossed!

Dead Air Yiddish
In January I blogged about the fact that I speak a little Yiddish that I learned growing up with my Bubbe (grandma) Rose and that sometimes there is no language that expresses an idea or a description so perfectly- at least for me.

Left Coast Crime Discoveries
Wow, just had an awesome weekend at Left Coast Crime. Joined "Dead Air" author Linda Reid for two exciting panels on "Playing Nicely with Others", i.e. writing with a partner; and "Ivory Tower Mysteries". The last one especially resonated for me–considering all the mishegoss at Ellsford University I've been sleuthing.
