Think different. Don’t look in the same places and talk to the same people. Open your mind. Change the game.

“Nothing is so painful to the human mind as a great and sudden change.”

I love the quote and the cover.

I’ve got no personal experience with gender discrimination. And, I’m not pushing GIRL POWER agenda, but man. As a girl, this. Is. So. Funny. To. Me.  (via thatcurlyhurdgirl)

“It’s messing people up, this social pressure to “find your passion” and “know what it is you want to do”. It’s perfectly fine to just live your moments fully, and marvel as many small and large passions, many small and large purposes enter and leave your life. For many people there is no realization, no bliss to follow, no discovery of your life’s purpose. This isn’t sad, it’s just the way things are. Stop trying to find the forest and just enjoy the trees.”

I get it. I do. There’s a tension to manage, for sure. You need to plan and steward your life well. Be intentional. But, you also need to leave room for moments of wonder and agility. Be interruptible.

I’m a fan of the forest AND the trees. It’s a much better picture.

“It’s great to meet other people and see other ways to creatively solve problems. The timeline is perfect, a few days at a time to “refresh.” It was a blend of tangible solutions, time to reflect and incredible nuggets to apply. Amazingly helpful.”

The 1 Email Successful People Never Send

The 1 Email Successful People Never Send:
Want to get ahead? Emulate the super-successful and never send a long email. Steve Jobs was a well-known sender of short emails. The Apple co-founder’s email address was public for much of his time as Apple’s CEO, and he often responded to emails …

What does my life have in common with the NFL?

Training, recruiting, drafting, hiring, firing, strategy, salary caps, negotiations, therapy, injury, rehab, teamwork, loyalty, dedication, concessions, time-outs, PR, practice, game time, pressure, winning, losing, trading, play books, game films, fans, owners, competitors, haters, trainers, discipline, fatigue, adrenaline, action, downtime, bad calls, lucky breaks, victory and defeat.

All of the above and then some.

I love the NFL. And, I love my life. And, I love that coach gave me a bye week.

I’m headed to Wisconsin with family to eat cheese curds, golf, hike and spend some time with the Green Bay Packers at training camp.

See you after this commercial break.
