Amish Weather Vane
I found this weather vane at an Amish store not far from Lititz, PA and decided I just had to share it with you! So fun to have the horse and buggy twirling around and brings back great memories from my time in Amish country!

Amish Cemetery
We passed by this Amish cemetery on our way to meet a friend at his farm, but couldn't help and stop to admire the neatly kept cemetery grounds amongst white washed headstones. The building in the distance held equipment and gardening tools. This quiet place of rest was in between two Amish farms near Lititz, Pennslyvania.

Amish Tobacco
Although most Amish don't smoke tobacco some grow and sell it. The yellow fields filled with ripe tobacco was a beautiful sight when we visited Lancaster. It's difficult to imagine it when you see the dried up tobacco you see here.

Amish Inspiration
When I was in Lancaster I came across these cards made by Nancy Euston. Here's her story...
Nancy is paralyzed from the neck down, and holds a pencil in her mouth to create her art work. Nancy is a self taught artist and a quadriplegic since 1975. Despite her paralysis Nancy has found an uncommon outlet to express her creativity, giving her life a completeltness and serenity she never thought she would have. Her inspiration comes from God, within herself and the Amish culture and landscape surrounding her Cenrtal Pennsylvania home.
What an amazing story, and interesting how living a simple life can inspire so many in so many ways.

Maggie
I just have to share about Maggie. She is a Amish reader who loves crafts, so she put the two together and makes magnets and pins for Amish writers. She reads the book and then works with the authors to pick three things about the story and then makes them into a pin or magnet. My grandmother used to make crafts similiar to this and it brings back great memories to have these treasures on my white board where I write.
