Interview with punk poet Annie Mcgann

Finally, we have an official date of book launch: April 30th, of this year. Very soon now, I will send the file to the printer and then I will have several boxes of lovely, fresh, spanking new books to share and sell.

While you wait for the actual book, here is the newest interview in the Punk Rock Saved My Ass series, this time with London based poet, Annie Mcgann. You can read her poem, "We meant it man" in the anthology, and see more of her work on her MySpace page.

Patsy Rodenburg: Why I do theater | Video on TED.com

This is outside the Punk anthology thread, but it made such a strong impact on me I wanted to share it with you. She states that society needs play wrights and actors now more than ever, because they are able to be "present" when most of us have lost the ability to do so. We need them to tell the truth.

I need to finish my play.

Anthology update and the newest Punk Interview

Sorry for the lapse of interviews and news. This semester is even more intense than the last (did you know I'm in grad school?). But progress has been made on the anthology and we are very close to launch date. Jane, our uber-talented Medusa copy-editor just finished her final proof-read of the galley. A big thank you to Jane for once again dedicating so much time and talent to Medusa's Muse. I'll know the exact book launch date once I conference with the designer, so stay tuned for future bo...

Interview with Punk Anthology Writer Jessica Williams

Jessica Williams is a twenty-six-year-old punk from Rock Springs, Wyoming. She completed her Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism at the University of Nevada and currently works at Big Boss Productions. Read her essay, "Punk Rock Girl in a Redneck Town," in the anthology, Punk Rock Saved My Ass, available April, 2010.

How do you personally define punk? Punk is an attitude. It isn't about how you dress, or what you listen to, it is how you act and how you are perceived by the...

Punk Anthology Interview number 5: Mic Schenck

Mic Schenck is a complicated man. Part malcontent, part unrealistic optimist, Mic hates Eminem's "comback," customer service, student loan payments, football stadium concerts, rhinestone cell phones, American flag gas tanks on cheap throwaway 50cc motorcycles, and demonic possession. He likes free downloads, dual citizenship, peanut butter cookies, the Dalai Lama's 80's businessman glasses, reading with the cell phone off, downhill skateboarding and all the unrecorded good times bef...

Interview with punk writer and anthology contributor, Jennifer Blowdryer

The third interview in our punk anthology series is with Jennifer Blowdryer, a San Francisco punk, musician, playwrite and performer. Check out her website and be sure to read her bio, which is entertaining all on it's own.

How do you personally define punk?  Johnny Rotten. He was a breath of fresh foul air in 1979 and is still going strong. What is NOT punk?Girls saying that something is "So punk rock!" they make me hurl. What punk song/band changed your life, and how? When I...

Punk Anthology Interview #2 - Matthue Roth

I decided to ask the same questions of every author to compare their responses. I wanted to learn what was similar, and what was different, in their thoughts on punk rock and DIY. Here is the second interview in a series of interviews with the writers who contributed to the anthology, Punk Rock Saved My Ass (launching Spring, 2010).
