Armed Forces Day 2010
[image error]Today is Armed Forces Day, observed every year since 1950 to honor the member of all branches of the Armed Services and thank them for their service.
The theme is this year's observance is "United in Strength. We are so proud that the various branches within the Department of Defense are "United in Strength" to protect our freedoms.

Memories of My Mother
[image error]Today on Mother's Day, I'm remembering my mother. She departed this earth for Heaven nearly seven years ago, but I still miss her.
She was born in California, where her parents were migrant workers. Her family lived in migrant camps with people who were all poor and mostly minority. She was comfortable with diversity long before it became a buzzword. As a teenager, she moved to Utah to live with her grandmother after the death of her grandfather.
