“When you try to make plans God is known to laugh” ~Talib Kweli “Broken Glass”

Art is my passion.

As a kid, I'd spend hours drawing, writing and making up stories. I had a lot of inspiration growing up the youngest of 13 children on a tiny, magical island.

Fast forward to college, sophomore year, I was blessed with my first child. Passion can’t placate hunger, so I put my "hobbies" on the back burner while I supported my growing family.

Anyway, things got all Chinua Achebe, so I escaped into my childhood passions.

Now, as the keyboard ejaculates on the screen, I bring characters to life...

I guess this is my goodreads intro. While I won't be blogging often (life gets in the way of the virtual life), I will be releasing episodic content from the book twice or so weekly free of charge. Read, share and let's dialogue about my work. If you have some disposable income, or you're impatirnt, you can always purchase a copy here.

I plan to release a novel a year in similar fashion. The final Read more of this blog post »

Ralph Ellison
“I am an invisible man. No I am not a spook like those who haunted Edgar Allen Poe: Nor am I one of your Hollywood movie ectoplasms. I am a man of substance, of flesh and bone, fiber and liquids, and I might even be said to possess a mind. I am invisible, simply because people refuse to see me.”
Ralph Ellison, Invisible Man

Italo Calvino
“The novels that attract me most... are those that create an illusion of transperancy around a knot of human relationships as obscure, cruel and perverse as possible.”
Italo Calvino, If on a Winter’s Night a Traveler

Mos Def
“Speech is my hammer bang the world into shape now let it fall - HUNGH”
Mos Def

Margaret Atwood
“Another belief of mine: that everyone else my age is an adult, whereas I am merely in disguise.”
Margaret Atwood, Cat’s Eye

James Baldwin
“Perhaps everybody has a garden of Eden, I don't know; but they have scarcely seen their garden before they see the flaming sword. Then, perhaps, life only offers the choice of remembering the garden or forgetting it. Either, or: it takes strength to remember, it takes another kind of strength to forget, it takes a hero to do both. People who remember court madness through pain, the pain of the perpetually recurring death of their innocence; people who forget court another kind of madness, the madness of the denial of pain and the hatred of innocence; and the world is mostly divided between madmen who remember and madmen who forget. Heroes are rare.”
James Baldwin
