Bodyguard–German Edition

The German edition of Bodyguard (Bodyguard: Unter dem Schutz des Bären) is now out! It’s available from Kindle now, and will be out on Apple and Tolino as soon as the files wend their way through the ether.

The Kindle version is here: http://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B00SSGAKBM

Unter dem Schutz des Bären means, loosely, “Under the protection / care of the bear,” which made me go, “Awwww.”

Speaking of Tolino–I am working to get my entire catalog of books available on it. Give me a few weeks, and it will be done! (I have a lot of books…)

Cowboys Last All Night a Bestseller

Very cool news–The Cowboys Last All Night boxed set is a USA Today bestseller! How great is that?

Thank you for all the fantastic feedback I’ve been getting for Riding Hard: Adam (in that set)

Adam will be out on its own in March (pre-orders for that book will be up in February). And Grant’s book will be out later in March. I’m trying to write these as fast as I can, but without compromising quality. Stay tuned for more specific pub dates as I know them.

For Shifters Unbound fans, more Shifters books are coming up in Feb, March, and April!

Take care,

Cowboys Last All Night is Out!

Cowboys Last All night is Here! For just 99 cents!!

Available worldwide at Kindle, Nook, Kobo, iBooks, and All Romance Ebooks!
Amazon Kindle: http://amzn.to/1AO7EjX
BN Nook: http://bit.ly/1BNg7So
Kobo: http://bit.ly/14x0ynd
iBooks: http://bit.ly/1tRWr1d
All Romance eBooks: http://bit.ly/1sb3FMs

My book in this set is Adam, Book 1 of a brand new series called Riding Hard.

Riding Hard follows a family of five brothers (the Campbells, four related, one adopted), who are stunt riders, training horses and other riders in their ranch in Hill Country, Texas.

Adam has made it big, becoming the most sought-after stuntman in Hollywood, but an accident that kills his best friend sends him home to lick his wounds. There he finds Bailey, the girl who’d set him on his feet long ago and helped him follow his dream. Except the shy, book-smart girl has blossomed into a beautiful woman. Can she help Adam get back on his feet again?

Riding Hard: Adam will be out exclusively in the Cowboys Last All Night set for a while, and then released on it’s own, in e- and print March 10.

(Bear Attraction is releasing in February, and I didn’t want to run into that)

Adam will be up for preorder by itself in Feb.

I plan to have Book 2, Grant, out in March as well.

I hope you enjoy this new series!! It is fun, fun to write, and I love this family!

Mackenzies Reading Order

I’m getting questions about why the latest Mackenzies/McBride (Rules for a Proper Governess) is set before Daniel’s book (this on is 1885; Danile is 1890). I posted an explanation on my website, and I’m copying it here:

http://www.jenniferashley.com/jennifer-ashley-books/highland-pleasures/mackenzies-series-chronology-and-reading-order/

The Mackenzies series jumps around a bit in chronology after the first four books. Two lists are below: the first, publication order; the second, order in which events take place.

Publication Order
The Madness of Lord Ian Mackenzie
Lady Isabella’s Scandalous Marriage
The Many Sins of Lord Cameron
The Duke’s Perfect Wife
A Mackenzie Family Christmas: The Perfect Gift
The Seduction of Elliot McBride
The Untamed Mackenzie
The Wicked Deeds of Daniel Mackenzie
Scandal and the Duchess
Rules for a Proper Governess
A Mackenzie Clan Gathering (forthcoming)
The Stolen Mackenzie Bride (forthcoming)
More titles tentatively forthcoming

Chronology

Note: The Stolen Mackenzie Bride  (coming 2015) will go back into the past and look at the Mackenzie family’s role in the 1745-46 Jacobite uprising. So technically, it is first, but it is NOT necessary to read it first. In fact, it will make more sense if the first four and Daniel’s book are read first.

The Stolen Mackenzie Bride (1745-46)
The Madness of Lord Ian Mackenzie (1881)
Lady Isabella’s Scandalous Marriage (1881, September)
The Many Sins of Lord Cameron (1882, September; Epilogue, June 1883)
The Duke’s Perfect Wife (1884, Spring; Epilogue, June 1885
The Seduction of Elliot McBride (1884, June)
A Mackenzie Family Christmas: The Perfect Gift (1884, December; Note that this story takes place before the Epilogue in Duke’s Perfect Wife)
The Untamed Mackenzie (1885, April)
Scandal and the Duchess (1885, November)
Rules for a Proper Governess (1885, December)
The Wicked Deeds of Daniel Mackenzie (1890)
A Mackenzie Clan Gathering (1891)

Why the Jumping?
Writing a book series is a bit like producing a TV series–you never know whether you’ll be picked up for another season. Even if an author’s series does well, there is no guarantee a publisher will offer another contract, and this can happen for many reasons. For example, the publisher might go out of business; the publisher decides to change focus and phase out certain types of books; the author’s editor leaves and no other editor wants to continue the series. Contracts are usually for 2-3 books (sometimes 4-5; but mine are usually 2-3). Lots of things can go wrong in publishing, unfortunately, and many of those things have indeed happened to me!

Also, an author never, ever knows from the outset whether a series will be successful. If it isn’t, publishers will drop it after the first two or three books. It is extremely difficult in that case to convince another publisher to pick you up. (I had no idea how difficult this was before I was published–of course publishers would want my favorite authors! But that’s not always the case, sadly.)

Now that authors can self-publish, we don’t have to panic as much about being dropped; however when I first started this series the self-publish option wasn’t there. So, I made sure the first four brothers’ stories got told first! Duke’s Perfect Wife finished a contract, and I was happy to be offered another. I made sure Daniel’s book got into that one, even if I had to jump forward in time to do it. Then I was offered yet more contracts, so I backed up to pick up some other stories. I trusted that if I posted the date in the beginning of each book, my readers would get it.

I have more Mackenzie stories to tell after these, so we’ll see what the future holds!

New Website etc.

Apologies for taking forever to update this blog. I've been furiously busy finishing Mate Bond (Shifters Book 7), working on the next Captain Lacey novel, and getting my websites (Allyson James and Jennifer Ashley) completely overhauled.

I now have a pretty new website that combines Allyson and Jennifer into one! You can access it at either:

http://www.jenniferashley.com or

http://www.allysonjames.com

My old one (jennifersromances) is still up, but I'm in process of sending it over to the new one.

I have all info in one place, plus pull-down menus for each author and each series. Plus each series is listed in order on its series pages, and on each book's page.

Go in, browse around, and have fun! If there are any problems with it, use the contact link there to let me know the error so I can get it fixed.

Thank you!

Jennifer Ashley
