Happy Year of the Rooster

Happy Lunar New Year! January 28th marks the start of the Lunar New Year as well as the Year of the Rooster. Although the holiday is also known as Chinese New Year, the Chinese aren't the only ones who observe it. The holiday is also celebrated in other Asian countries including Korea, Vietnam, Singapore, and Taiwan. Well here we are again – the start of a new year! I hope your holidays were joy-filled and restful and that your new year is off to a great, if not slow, (that first Monday is always the hardest, isn't it?) start!

The New York Times Reviews The Whale in My Swimming Pool

I'm excited to announce that my latest picture book The Whale in My Swimming Pool was reviewed in last Sunday's New York Times. I was informed by my publisher that this was going to be in the paper a few weeks ago and was on pins and needles waiting to see what the review would say. Book Launch Party Recap
