Paris feels too beautiful for cutting-edge science research, so well preserved are its cobbled streets and yellowing façades. Building restrictions keep nearly every part of Paris less than 121 feet tall (with only a few skyscrapers and the Eiffel Tower), and many blue street signs are lovingly repainted. This scheme is so entrenched in the French mindset that a recent futur...

"More like Virgile," he said.

We know that the authors Jean-Pierre Alaux and Noël Balen came up with the idea for the Winemaker Detective series while sharing...

Okay, this is nothing about books, but this weekend, LeFrench overtook the Book! I was going to a wine dinner at a friend's house and one of the guests had a little gift for me: the first truffle of the season, hand-picked the same morning at his own "truffière" (truffle growing grounds).
