The grip of life keeps a tight rein on Lilly as she suffers great loss, but her strength in God and the love for her children push her forward.  There are days that she lives by simply putting one foot in front of the other. The drama that unfolds, at times, is unbelievable. From the eldest child to the youngest, the anxieties are obvious. Lilly finds herself at times unable to interact and is often heard reciting cliché’s, words she lived by, ”When it rains, it pours, A Bird in the Hand is Worth Two in the Bush, It’ll All Come Out in the Wash.”  Lilly is strong, resilient and loyal, and her inner strength causes her to persevere. www.Cheryleboyle.com

Summary of Book:
Jessica had always feared that the unthinkable had happened when she had been "made up." She had no sense of herself as a needing, wanting person. Every day she expected to be dragged into court and found guilty of impersonating a real human being. In her therapy, she remembered in vivid detail many experiences from the earliest days of her life. In the process, she discovered that the difficulties she experienced in being born and the inattentive, hurried behavior of her mother in the ensuing weeks made her feel that the needing, wanting part of her was "dangerous" and that she "had to stay away from it." All of Jessica's remembrances were audio-taped and edited for inclusion in the book.
Jessica had always been terrified that the unthinkable had happened when  she was "made up." In her mind, there was no other explanation for what she experienced when she said "I need" or "I want." The second these words flew from her mouth she felt as if she were floating hundreds of miles above the earth and that her mind was about to dissolve into chaos. If someone had said to her, "I never hear you say 'I need' or 'I want,'" her crisp reply would have been, "I don't know what you're talking about." Those words would have been followed by an urgent "I have to go."

Jessica lived in constant dread of someone discovering who - or what - she really was. She was certain that, if her secret ever leaked out, strangers would suddenly encircle her and, with arms raised and fingers pointed directly at her, shout "Imposter! Imposter! Here's the imposter!" The next day's headlines would then surely read: SCIENTISTS GATHER TO EXAMINE ALIEN IMPOSTER.
Jessica future - if not her sanity - depended on her preventing that from happening. She decided that the best way to do that was to act as if she really was a needing, wanting person. Accordingly, she did whatever she sensed was expected of her, and in a way that would avoid upsetting anyone and keep her as inconspicuous as possible.

Until Jessica entered therapy as an adult, she had no way of knowing how she had become such a mystery to herself. When she was well into her therapy, she started to remember many experiences from the first weeks of her infancy that would provide the answer. During that time in her life, when every minute of it should have been filled with exciting discoveries about herself and her world, she rarely saw a smiling face, or experienced a soft caress, or heard a tender voice, or felt her body being handled in a gentle way.

A few of her many remembrances included her sense in being born of wanting to add one more "good thing" to that "big, working thing" she sensed was out there. Unfortunately, her reception by the medical team made her feel that all she had done was to cause problems for them "because I wasn't doing it right." Another remembrance was how the anesthesia given to her mother made her feel that she had suddenly lost control over her body. Yet another memory was how her mother's overall hurried and inattentive behavior in the following weeks made her to feel that she was a disappointment.

For Jessica's therapist, hearing these recollections was like listening to an infant who could talk describe every psychologically dramatic moment of its life as it was happening. All of those recollections were audio-taped and included in this book in edited form for ease of reading.

About the AuthorJeffrey Von Glahn, Ph.D., has been a psychotherapist for 45 years, and counting. That experience
has been, and continues to be, more exciting and fulfilling than he had ever imagined. Whether it's
the first session with a new client or the hundredth one with the same client, this intimate way of
engaging with another person continues to have the same mesmeric appeal for him it has always
had. On occasion, he has been known to suddenly exclaim, "If I believed in reincarnation - which
I don't - but if I did my fondest wish would be to come back as a therapist."

What has been especially rewarding for Jeffrey - as he prefers to be called - is when he's been able
to help someone reconnect with a "lost" part of their basic humanness. That's when he feels he's
helped to give birth to a new human being. He doesn't mean that literally, of course, but there's
no other way of explaining how he feels when he's sitting face-to-face with someone and he
sees such a dramatic change.

And even after all these years, each client presents another opportunity for him to learn more
about psychotherapy, and to learn more about how to help someone regain contact with a part
of his or her basic humanness that fortuitous events from earlier in life had secreted away for
safe-keeping. What makes it all an especially significant experience for Jeffrey is that he
gets to use all of his intellectual skills and all of his basic caring instincts at the same time.

About The Author:

I remember the spark, that first electric tickling in the back of my Lizard brain that states I want to tell stories, No I Need to tell stories.  Like many writers, Film Makers, Musicians, Artist Etc., I have been inspired by many  creative genius', but I clearly can recall the ignition of the flame that would be my Persistence of Vision.

I was a young boy, only 6 years of age and I had recently seen Star Wars at my local Library with some family friends.  (I know kids, this was even before the VHS and BETA's battle for supremacy. What's Beta and VHS?   Ask your Parents kids.)

My mother took me to see Empire Strikes back in the theater and lo and behold a Wookie approached us.  My palms instantly clammed up, sweat protruded from every pore and I didn't know what to do when this gargantuan beast wrapped his arms around my mother, my life line. He could have easily crushed her.  Right? I panicked, but merely for a short spell as he just gave my mom a huge hug and then all I could think was..."Man that's cool.  My mother knows a Wookie."
Of course it had been one of her high school students dressed in a Wookie costume, but the Movie started and I was hooked and all that went through my head as I watched this movie blow my mind was how can I create Worlds?

I was drawn to movies, which translated into comic books, novels and any story I could get a hold of.  I clawed my way through the ranks of production, starting in the film Industry as a Production Assistant and in the Locations department.

At that time I would  do anything that would get me close to a film set from Locations, to production to catering and honestly that still holds true, to this day.  You need a PA?  If I'm not busy (Rare these days) I'll help you make your film.

I was able to move to Los Angeles, thanks to For Stars Catering, who I worked with on a few shows.  I like to cook, but waking up at 3 AM sucks and half the time I was still up from the night before.  I Just wanted to say, sorry Gary, but it made me reach Los Angeles, the Mecca of Film making.  High five across the Interwebs For stars Catering.  http://www.forstarscatering.com/

After many years of production work, I finally got accepted into The Director's Guild of America as a Second Assistant Director and over the years I have had a few screenplays optioned by Studios, but sadly none have been produced.

I wished for a story of mine to reach the masses, because all these stories are jumbled in my brain and I must release them.  This little Gem "The Rosicrucian" had been teetering on my cerebral cortex for ten years or so, but just became too large to be a movie and I thought the perfect form for the story would be a novelization.

I literally have too many stories to write down, causing me to think I need a sweat shop of writers to do my bidding, Pronto!  First off I like to joke around, of course a sweat shop of writers would be so hard to maintain.

I'm just saying there is plenty more where "The Rosicrucian" came from.

Book review for The Christmas Cats Fear For the Deer

Constance Corcoran Wilson The Christmas Cats Fear for the Deer by Constance Corcoran Wilson:Publisher: Quad City Press; First edition (August 18, 2015)
Category: Children’s Books, Cats, Christmas Books
Tour Date: Oct & Nov, 2015
ISBN: 978-0982444887
ASIN: B0143ZBLSM
Available in: Print, ebook,  36 Pages

Book Summary: The Christmas Cats Fear for the Deer  is a Seuss-ical tale for young children  (4th in the series) which builds upon the morals of the first three Christmas Cats books ( The Christmas Cats in Silly Hats, The Christmas Cats Chase Christmas Rats and The Christmas Cats Encounter Bats ).This year, the Christmas Cats in Silly Hats, who go about helping animals in distress, are trying to help save the lives of the deer who live in Scott County Park. Hunters are routinely sent to shoot the deer, and the cats want to warn the deer away, so that they will not fall victim to the town’s plans to “thin the herd.”The Cop Cat, Cy, thinks up a particularly ingenious plan to save all the deer in Scott County Park by introducing them to a jolly old guy in a red suit who lives at the North Pole. Perhaps the deer can also help Santa on Christmas Eve, if they are outfitted with prosthetic (fake) antlers?Illustrated with delightful drawings and written in rhyme, there are also interactive coloring book pages and mazes from the book’s website, which the author encourages children aged 3 to 10 to fill out and mail in for display. (www.TheXmasCats.com).

Review:THE CHRISTMAS CATS FEAR FOR THE DEER is the fourth story in the Christmas Cats series. It is suppose to build up the morals of the first three books in the series. Book 1 focuses on cooperation. Book 2 focuses on acceptance. Book 3 focuses on the value of life and respect. Book 4 does touch upon some of those values but also includes bias in other areas.

Some great things about this book is that the illustrations are colorful and expressive, young children are going to love that. It is also written in rhyme and moves quickly. In the back of the book kids will find a maze and coloring pages they will enjoy. Readers of the other books in the series will love how the cats work together to solve a problem.

Some quibbles about the book. It paints hunters in a terrible light making them look like all they do is kill animals for fun. For people who hunt to live, eating off the bounty the meat provides, this will be offending. In the story the author makes a reference about how Santa can help the deer by giving them antlers so they can fit in. The first to this is that bucks already have antlers so they wouldn't need to be added to them only the does and the fawns. The reference refers to how "soldiers and runners can run on fake legs" which implies, why not deer fly with fake antlers, but the author didn't make it clear enough for children to understand, it will be lost upon them. This reference can also be offending and could have been written much smoother and in a different way. Soldiers get prosthetics not to fit in, but to feel whole again. Prosthetic antlers for deer, in this case, just helps the deer to fit in but doesn't help them become whole or serve a bigger purpose.

The author also mentions deer dropping their antlers because their fake ones grow loose. Deer drop their antlers so they can grow bigger ones, that should have been clear instead of implying that if you see antlers lying about that they are from deer pretending to be reindeer so they can fit in.  No one should have to pretend to be someone else to fit in. That's not a good message to tell our children. People should like you because of who you are not because you are like everybody else.

The author had good intentions with this story but it didn't run with the same smoothness as the others. It certainly didn't uphold the good values the author is trying to instill.  It is, however, pushing personal opinion instead of factual knowledge that children can actually benefit from.         About Constance Corcoran Wilson: Constance Corcoran Wilson Connie has published many works representing a variety of genres. Wilson’s first book (1989), published by Performance Learning Systems, Inc. of Emerson, New Jersey,  Training the Teacher As A Champion , put forth the teaching techniques and principles taught by the nation’s largest teacher training firm. Written by Wilson in collaboration with PLS founder Joseph Hasenstaab, the book gives an insight into the effective teaching practices of successful teachers, those techniques included in that organization’s Project T.E.A.C.H. (Teacher Effectiveness and Classroom Handling). Connie taught at the elementary level for 20 years, taught writing at 6 IA/IL colleges, and founded the second Sylvan Learning Center in the state of Iowa in 1986.Since then, Connie has published 30 titles in a variety of genres, with the Christmas Cats series written with and for her now-six-year-old granddaughters, Ava and Elise. (Illustrations by Gary McCluskey) now entering its fourth installment.   The Christmas Cats in Silly Hats  began the four-book series and the cats help other animals in distress while wearing a delightful series of silly hats.  The second book in the series,  The Christmas Cats Chase Christmas Rats , was a plea for all to remain unprejudiced (“Do not judge others without knowing, or prejudice you will be showing”) and the third book, The Christmas Cats Encounter Bats , stressed the need to honor all life as sacred. This year’s book ,  The Christmas Cats Fear for the Deer , encourages helping others and also strikes a blow for individuals who some might consider handicapped, but  who can succeed and excel if  simple accommodations are made for them.Connie’s adult fare can be seen on Amazon or on her dedicated author site, www.ConnieCWilson.com.

Review:The Lucky Seven Show presents young readers to a magical fiction/fantasy drama delightfully resolved through collaboration.
In this story there is a unique seven sided hepbarn and 7 groups who wish to call it theirs. You have Musky, then flying machines, wood spirits, musical instruments, photographs, flags and maps, and farm tools. Musky has to figure out how the groups could work together instead of all being so divided in thought. A plan was devised with the help of the horse weathervain.
This story entices young readers to further research animals and their behavior, flight principles, games and game theory, social studies and geography, mechanical principles, music and art in a multitude of formats.
The words in the story are more complex for older children than younger but children of all ages will enjoy the illustrations and plot, as well as the messages of compromise, teamwork, and friendship.

From the Back CoverTurning fifty was the first time I really felt my age. I always felt and looked younger then I actually am chronologically. I still do look younger then I am but feel it, no not quite. I have aches and pains that I never felt before. Also I have not in my opinion reached my full potential yet.

As I watch young celebrities panicking about reaching thirty years old and getting botox, I shake my head. At thirty I was still being carded. I was still asked if I was old enough to work in this office. Thirty? They are children!

Believe me kids, Thirty is nothing. Now Fifty that is a brick wall that you have to watch out for. All of the sudden you ache in places you have never even thought of before. You have problems with parts of your body that worked perfectly the year before. You gain weight easier, and it is harder to get it off.

Fifty is what they should be worried about. This is what I learned.

Interview with Michael D' Ambrosio for Princess Pain

Come and join me as I talk with author Michael D' Ambrosio about his book Princess Pain on Stories From Unknown Authors http://blogtalkradio.com/storiesfromunknownauthors at 1pm EST today.

Summary:
Marina is a cold-hearted courier of contraband who likes to play rough. Her life as a loner is just fine until the delivery of a flash drive with stolen weapons technology ends her alias and makes her the target of a power-hungry militia leader who wants her alive, and his sultry assassin lover who wants her dead. The action-filled chase across the sector with two unlikely allies melts the ice off her heart and leads her to a secret that changes everything she ever stood for. Nothing is easy with Marina as she drives everyone crazy with her anger-driven arrogance and stubbornness, including Britt, the militia captain, who falls in love with her.

BiographyMy desire to write thrilling science-fiction came about in the late 90's as a result of many of my adventures around the world. Some form my military background and others from my civilian job and a few from my personal travels. Real life experiences fuel my stories and give them that "little extra" with a touch of fantasy and romance that we all crave when we read to escape reality with a feel good sensation. The Fractured Time Trilogy and Space Frontiers Series are great for ages 12 and up. Night Creeps 1 and 2 are strictly adult sci-fi/horror while the futuristic action Pain Series with Princess Pain is recommended for age 14 and up due to the violence.
In addition to novels, I have taken up screenwriting to adapt those novels to film. When I'm not writing, I'm participating in conventions across the county and possibly Europe in the near future. See my website at www.fracturedtime.com for more information on all my projects including the latest.

Review for Lights, Camera, Stilton! by Geronimo Stilton New Graphic Novel

Product Details

Lights, Camera, Stilton! by Geronimo StiltonGeronimo Stilton Graphic Novels (Book 16)PapercutzAugust 4th, 2015
ISBN-10: 1629912085
ISBN-13: 978-1629912080
Ages 7-12 years old
56 Pages

Ever wondered about the birth of movies? In 1895 the Lumière brothers invented the Cinematograph. The two engineers created something that was completely new for their time: a machine that could shoot, develop, and above all, project images. They were credited for inventing the movies.
Like many of the Geronimo Stilton books, there is always something new to learn that will engage and educate readers. In this case the story focuses on the Lumiere brothers and their first attempt at a movie. But they did not know that they were being sabotaged by the pirate cats. The pirate cats wished to be the ones to be recognized for this amazing accomplishment in film. With the help of Professor Von Volt, Geronimo Stilton, Thea, Trap, and Benjamin go back in time to stop the pirate cats from changing history.
Geronimo fans will love reading the 56-page graphic novel Light, Camera, Stilton! though fans of the books will find some differences between reading Geronimo Stilton graphic novels and the Geronimo Stilton books. In the graphic novels many things carry over from one graphic novel to the next so if the reader didn’t read the other graphic novels they might miss some of the references implied. In the graphic novels there seems to be a different tone that is portrayed from Geronimo. In the books he can be funny and silly, with the plot adventurous or mysterious in some way. In the graphic novels the tone is definitely more serious, though adventure or mystery is central and wrapped around a historical event, and of course the characters look a little different.

The great thing about the graphic novel series is that they tend to have separate plots than the books, which is great for the readers and brings diversity. None of the stories are shortened or illustrated versions of the books. They each are unique and have different settings, plots, and educational value. Children who love history, and Geronimo Stilton, will like what this series teaches them.
