Dirty Love

The Education of Werner Pfennig
I’ve finally finished a new novel, almost seven hundred pages, seven years in the making. It follows the lives of a German boy and a French girl during World War II, and is about radio, puzzles, natural history, and a fabled diamond. It will be published by Scribner in early 2014, but in the meantime readers can find a small piece of it in the new issue of Tin House (This Means War).
