Zombie book of the day: Chicago Fell First by Aaron Smith
After Brandon sees his mother save her water-logged cell phone in a bag of rice, he tries the same when he finds his little brother blue in the bathtub. At first he believes his brother is dead - no breath, bluish skin - but when his mother returns home and he opens his eyes, they rush him to the hospital where he stays overnight for observation.
A night nurse checks on the boy to find him sitting up in bed. Everything seems fine until that first bite...
***
Follow this harrowing horror tale as a city comes under siege by the Empty Ones. Told from alternating points of view between the main characters who end up converging in Chicago as the outbreak happens, this zombie novel has all the elements of a thrill fest: Pop science, gore, tension and a glimpse into what happens to humanity when humans transform into ravenous walking dead.
One medical student braves the chaos to search for a cure...
One former captain tries to right the wrongs of his past...
One serial killer in the making sees it as a chance to release his dark yearning...
One city battling for survival in CHICAGO FELL FIRST.

Review for The Dead War Collection
Interesting one this set in the future where zombies are shot with hand held laser guns & rifles, but a shot zombie is a dead zombie in anyone's book. We follow a Scout by the name of Richards who has one mission, to deliver a message to HQ and that's all. Unfortunately his mission becomes slightly more complicated when he saves a small girl who leaves him with an ominous message before disappearing. Unknown to Richards their paths will cross again and the repercussions will either save or doom what's left of humanity, and throw in another group of monsters that want to destroy mankind and it all builds to a thunderous finale.

Telltale Games: The Walking Dead Season Two Trailer
The Walking Dead is an episodic video game series based on Robert Kirkman’s award-winning comic books. Season One of The Walking Dead won over 90 Game of the Year Awards.
Season Two continues the story that began in Season One. You are Clementine, a young survivor in a world gone to hell. The dead have risen to feast on the living, and the living cannot be trusted.
The story you experience in The Walking Dead Season Two is driven by the choices that you make. Because of that, your story could be very different from someone else’s. If you played Season One and the DLC episode ‘400 Days’, the choices you made there will affect Season Two.
While you don’t have to play Season One or 400 Days to enjoy Season Two, we recommend that you do in order to get the most from the story.
Your decisions and actions will change the story around you, in this sequel to 2012’s Game of the Year. Check out the trailer below and you can buy the game here: http://www.telltalegames.com/walkingdead/

Are zombies overexposed right now?
Every where you look right now there are zombies. Zombie movies, TV shows, commercials, comic books, and of course books/ebooks seem to have taken over in popular culture right now.
Of course most of this is driven by the phenomenal success of AMC's The Walking Dead. Of course The Walking Dead comics are hugely successful and that's not to mention the success of The Extinction Parade by Max Brooks or George A. Romero's Empire of the Dead when it comes to comic books.
There will be a sequel to World War Z and there will be a Pride , Prejudice, & Zombies movie
But just because that show and movies like World War Z have been successful doesn't mean that we might be reaching the over saturation point with zombies. If you do a search for zombie books on Amazon right now there are 9,055 results at the moment I am writing this post.
TV shows such as the BBC's In the Flesh have already joined the market and shows such as Helix have zombie elements. ( Okay the infected elements ) NBC is set to produce Babylon Fields a series that started out seven years ago as an CBS project.
If you have Netflix or check out YouTube you are already aware of the thousands of zombie movies out there and trust me there are thousands more to come.
This leads me to ponder just how much zombie themed entertainment can the market bare. Are we reaching the point of over saturation. Even hardcore zombie fans most be wondering the same thing.
So what do you think? Are zombies overexposed right now?

What's Next for Zombie Video Games?
So are games where the presence of zombies is the defining feature are, pardon the phrasing, dead? Not exactly. Cavender says that Telltale Games' adaptation of The Walking Dead, a 2012 Game of the Year winner at Spike's Video Game Awards, remains popular.
That game "kind of changed the way we want to see a story told and it hit a lot of people in a lot of ways," he says, referring to the game's unusual mechanics. Telltale's The Walking Dead isn't a shooter so much as a third-person graphic adventure where choices (rather than a controller) determine outcomes.
The first-person zombie thriller Dying Light releases this year, and could bring back the "zombie shooter." Source: Techland.
Fortunately, The Walking Dead isn't the only option for those who just want to destroy zombies. Cavender also cites Outlast, Left for Dead 2, and Dead Rising 3 for Xbox One as existing titles that deliver for fans of the genre. Yet all three might pale compared to a new Techland game called Dying Light.

Review: Abraham Lincoln vs Zombies
As preposterous as the title sounds and the obvious fact that the film is a ripoff of Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter this is actually a pretty decent zombie flick.
The movies title pretty much says it all. President Abraham Lincoln and a group of Secret Service agents fight zombies in an attempt to keep the infection from spreading.
That being the plot one has to temporarily ignore the fact that sending in a company of troops would have worked much better. Also there's no way in hell anyone would have let the President of the United States lead an attack against the living dead even if that President is Abraham Lincoln.
Now as for the acting, it sucks. Except for Bill Oberst who portrays Abraham Lincoln no other actor in the movie should quit their day jobs. That does not take away from the movie though which moves at a brisk pace and actually has one or two genuine scares. There is plenty of zombie action but maybe not as much gore as some would like. As for the zombies these zombies tend to "sleep" even when humans are around at times. If seems as if the script dictates when the zombies are aware of the humans.
To me what makes this movie fun is the historical figures that it works into the script. Theodore Roosevelt, Stonewall Jackson, John Wilkes Booth, and Pat Garret (look it up). It's amusing to see little nuggets dropped here and there about things that later or said or done by historical figures. The writers Richard Schenkman, Karl Hirsch, and Lauren Proctor were very clever in this regard.
I strongly recommend that you check this movie out. Abraham Lincoln vs Zombies is a fun, quick, and enjoyable way to spend 90 minutes.

Zombie book of the week, Dark Recollections (Adrian's Undead Diary)
For the first time, the internet phenomenon is now in print! Beheading a zombie isn't easy in a world where you're more afraid of the living than the dead.
Adrian Ring's simple life is thrown into chaos when the world is ripped apart by a plague of undead and legions of desperate survivors. Retreating to Auburn Lake Preparatory Academy, Adrian attempts to rescue friends and family on the way while dancing around his impending insanity over who and what he left behind, and evading maniac survivors. He saves his cat Otis, but shoots his mom. Pretty successful, all things considered.
Dark Recollections is the first part of Adrian's own story of how he survived after "That Day." Told through his eyes as he talks to his laptop, affectionately named 'Mr. Journal," and through short stories that entwine with his tales that bring forth dark visions of a world being eaten alive by an unimaginable evil. Adrian's Undead Diary is an eight part epic about a solitary, guilt stricken man that didn't think he deserved to live, but realizes very soon that he survived, and suffered for a reason.
It's a great read for anyone. The stories are well written, characters build carefully and every detail is covered. People, this is what a great book looks like! Stop reading this review and start reading the book! -Frank D of zombie-guide.com
I don't even think one needs to be a fan of zombie fiction to end up a fan of AUD; because Chris's talent can't be pigeonholed into one limited, literary genre. His true talent lies in weaving an enduring, sweeping story that does exactly what it's supposed to do... pulls you in, engrosses you, evokes emotion, and leaves you satisfied (if not a little bit sad) when it's over. In the case of AUD, for me, the zombies are just a bonus! -Wendi Haegle

Latest Review for The Dead War Series Book One
Here's a review from The Dead War Series book page at Barnes & Noble.
My very first time reading this author. I love zombies and this author has done a amazing job of bringing them to bloody life. The "Grays" as they are called amazingly described. In this story you don't know who you should fear most the humans or the grays. Its the army with a twist that is scary good. I tell you one thing I wouldn't want to be a Scout. Read this book to found out why. Can't wait to read part 2. Great job!
