Sunrise Post: Contesting...

I love getting up before the sun. It feels like your little secret, doesn't it?

So, back to business! For my sunrise post today it's all about beginnings! Brenda Pandos is a friend of mine, and she is currently in the throws of the third round of the Amazon Breakthrough Novel Award Contest, beating out close to 9,500 other writers to get there! She is a new author, and has been working on her book for over a year now.

What can you do to help?

That is a novel (get it, novel?) question! Go to t...

Cabin Fever!

Yeah. Cabin Fever.

Everytime I finish a book, this is me. I run out of things to do, and I'm so used to being inside, that the thought of even approaching my door seems daunting

and the car is getting an oil change, so I have no car.

I feel like I need an adventure! And not just any adventure, but Indiana Jones, James bond, go on a vacation, adventure.

But I don't have my car.

So a walk around the neighborhood in the rain will have to do.

Thursday Shopping Spree!

Like I say, my writing habit supports my reading habit. Good thing I have a big bookshelf.
Books are so expensive in the bookstore, aren't they? Blah. Well, I didn't buy these in a store, which is nice because I'll just get the book when many of these are finally released! Yay.

I'm out of editing mode with:

and now I'm in writing mode with:

so that means lots of reading to stay fresh and current. When I'm writing, I feel like all I do is read/workout/eat/write...

So, here's what I got. Looks...

-I got my proof copy the other day, and well. I wanted to make some changes. LOTS of changes.-So what if it's a little last-minute, right? The ending is the pivotal point, the part where the reader decides if the book was worth it or not, and if they're curious enough to stick around for round two...-Knight Angels: Book One will still release on time, about 16 days from now I believe! Amazing what can be done in such a short amount of time, isn't it?-
Round Two -Yep, I already have the cover...

Talking About Places I've Never Been...

It's okay to dream, right? Well I do. Not that I dream of drive-ins, but I do like to set my books in places I've never been, especially when I then go there later. I love to research. What can I say?

-

This is Vicco's Charburger in Glenwood Springs, Colorado.

-

In my book, the second Knight Angels book, I am going to have a scene here for a first date. It's cute, that sweet drive-in date feel. I love Colorado, and to think, I've only been in the airport. One day I will move to Colorado, so for n...

Manic Monday: iPad e-books, Shiver book thoughts, and waiting on the mailman...

We Finally Meet iPhone's Mama...-Well, I guess I should say that no, I did not run out and buy one. I'm an author, and quite frankly, an iPad won't do much good for me other than reading books (typing without real keys = not going to happen). At the rate I read books, though, the screen will hurt my eyes.-I think it should have been named iTab...-Anyways. So my books are making their way into the iBookstore, if they're not on there already. I got a notification telling me Feather: Book One

Wednesday Meatloaf

What's better than a little meat loaf?-NOTHING!-Especially when it's not your typical meatloaf...-I like to cook with turkey as much as I can get away with (my husband LOVES beef).-SO I went to my favorite chef for answers, and she never fails to deliver something good!
