Book Description:
Something wicked has returned to Elmwood, and it longs to continue the study it began over a century ago. It's looking for volunteers, but few seem worthy of the gift. Isaac Winters might be the one. He's a detective with a damaged past, and something to prove. Still haunted by his wife's murder sixteen years earlier, Isaac has thought more and more about turning in his badge. Over the years, he's seen the worst mankind has to offer. Until now. A strange fire has consumed the life of a young girl. But she won't be the last. There are no witnesses and no evidence except a small stone figurine, a gateway to the past. Accompanied by a partner with questionable experience, Isaac must discover and defeat this faceless villain before it takes from him the greatest reminder of his dead wife. Their daughter.

Richard is not a vampire, yet.
While he awaits immortality, Richard spends much of his time banging his head on the keyboard trying to make sentences out of words.
Since the age of ten, he's written dozens of short stories, over a hundred poems, and two novels, the first -- The Gift of Illusion -- was released May, 17 2011.
He also enjoys spending time with his daughter, girlfriend, three dogs, watching mixed martial arts, singing karaoke, debating politics, and of course dressing up for photo shoots with a guitar he never really learned to play (ahem).

Review of What a Goddess Wants by Stephanie Julian

What a Goddess Wants is Book One in the Forgotten Goddess series
Book Description:
IN HIS ARMS, HER MAGIC POWERS ARE ON THE RISE...
Tessa, Etruscan Goddess of the Dawn, is losing her powers and now there's an Underworld god determined to run her down. She needs a hero and fast, because only sexual energy can give her power. So she seeks out Caligo, whose sexual prowess is legendary...
AND SHE'S THE ONLY ONE WHO CAN BRING HIM INTO THE LIGHT...
Caligo is a fabled Cimmerian warrior determined to stay away from spoiled goddesses who trample hearts after they've had their fun. But there's something irresistibly hot and inviting about Tessa and he knows he's her only change to escape the encroaching darkness...
My review:
If you aren't a fan of books filled with super hot and numerous sex scenes, then don't bother with this book because it'll burn you, yup sizzle your hands into burnt cinders cause this book is on fire.
Also if you aren't a fan of sex without love, or sex before love- don't bother either because these 2 start out without even knowing each other's name or what they are.
Pure fantastical sexiness. Escapist sexiness.
Don't bring reality or prudish expectations with you when reading this book, if you do you'll be disappointed in what you find.
Julian spins a new story from old myths- Tessa's a forgotten goddess, forgotten enough that no one really knows who she is but not forgotten enough to be left alone because now an evil god in the underworld wants to suck her and other goddesses dry, drain them of their power so he can get out of the Underworld and wreak havoc everywhere.
Tessa needs help so she seeks out Caligo a Cimmerian warrior known for his fighting skills...and sexual prowess.
The two of them have an instant connection and a strange effect on each other.
Suddenly they need each other- but both have been burned before.
Will the sizzle between them be enough to save them both from the darkness and destruction or will the relationship go up in flames?
I was pleasantly surprised by this new take on god and goddess myths and loved the hotter than hot scenes.
Can't wait to read more in this series.

Guest Blog and Giveaway with Felicity Heaton

Secondly, I'll introduce myself. My name is Felicity Heaton and I write paranormal romances under that name and also as F E Heaton. I've been writing since 2005 and have been an indie author since 2006. During that time, I have written all of the main species covered in paranormal romance books. I have explored vampires, werewolves and shape-shifters, even witches and demons. Sometimes a writer needs a new challenge. Angels were that challenge for me and since writing the first book in the Her Angel series last year, I have added another three to the series, the most recent being my new release, Her Guardian Angel, which is also the first novel-length book in the series.
What makes an author decide to venture into the world of angels? For me, it was more than just the challenge of writing a new species. It was the chance to take on a whole new world and see what I could do with it. I had heard that people were writing angels but that they were focusing mostly on fallen angels. I wanted to explore more than just the angels that had been cast out of Heaven. I wanted to explore this new genre to the full and that meant dealing with angels who were still in the employment of a higher power.
Here was my chance to see if feathers could be just as sexy as fangs, and I decided to take it and run with it, and now I have four books released in the series and another in the ideas stage.
Most of the angels involved in my Her Angel series so far aren't fallen. They're still working for the man, or at least they were at the start of their stories. While I love the idea of the lost-soul angel who has fallen and then falls in a different way for a mortal, it isn't complicated enough for me. I like my love to be really forbidden, and there's nothing more forbidden than a fully-fledged angel falling for a mortal... unless you count an angel falling in love with a demon... and I even wrote that angle in Her Warrior Angel.

I also thought about other elements like what things would be forbidden for angels to do, say or experience. I enjoyed playing on an almost childlike level of curiosity when it came to things that had been previously off limits to the angels—like alcohol for example. Humans would probably leap at the chance to try something that someone had told them they couldn't do, so why would an angel be any different? All of the angels in my series are very curious about human life, human things, and anything that is prohibited. I think readers will relate to that. We've all been curious about things, especially when someone has told us no!
The last thing I considered was their loyalty to their world and their duties. In all of the stories, I have explored how that loyalty can cause conflict within them, leaving them torn between it and the heroine. There is only one true way for them to be with the heroine, without asking her to go to Hell and back, which is by surrendering their wings and immortality. That's a tough decision for an angel to make, especially when they love flying so much. The series focuses on the sacrifice that the hero might have to make in order to win the heroine's heart and love, as well as the great trials that the heroine might face to save her hero the pain of having to give up his immortality.
It's one of the ultimate forbidden loves in my eyes. Angels and mortals (or demons!). Two very separate worlds with very different rules. Love has a way of overlooking such things though and teaching us to look beyond what people tell us to see, to what we feel in our hearts, and that's what the Her Angel series is all about.
I hope you've enjoyed this brief introduction to my Her Angel series and that it has intrigued you enough that you want to find out more about the series and the books, and that you'll follow me on my Paranormal Pandemonium 2011 Blog Tour so you can learn more about the characters, the series and the books. You can find out my tour dates at my website: http://www.felicityheaton.co.uk/paranormal-pandemonium-blog-tour.php
Here's a little more about the latest book in the series. Don't worry if you haven't read the others. This story can be read out of order with them without any problem at all.
Her Guardian Angel is currently available in e-book direct from my website, Amazon Kindle Stores, and Smashwords. It will soon be available from Barnes & Noble, Sony, Kobo, Apple iBookstore, and also as a paperback from Amazon sites.
Other stories in the Her Angel series are: Her Dark Angel, Her Fallen Angel and Her Warrior Angel. Details of them and where they are available in e-book and paperback can be found at my website: http://www.felicityheaton.co.uk/ebookseries.php?series=Her%20Angel
Her Guardian Angel
A simple mission becomes a fight for survival in this fantastic instalment in the Her Angel series.
A guardian angel dedicated to his duty, Marcus will do whatever Heaven asks of him, but even his loyalty has its limits. When his superior orders him to gain Amelia's trust through seduction, Marcus starts to question his mission and his feelings for the beautiful woman he has watched over since her birth.
Amelia has gone from one bad relationship to another, so when a gorgeous guy moves in next door looking like Mr Right, she hopes he doesn't turn out to be another black knight in disguise. But there's more to Marcus than meets the eye, and when he rescues her from three demonic men, Amelia is thrust into his nightmarish world—a world where God and the Devil exist, and only one angel can save her from death—Marcus, the angel she's falling in love with.
On the run from demonic angels and the Devil himself, aided by Marcus's angel friends and their amazing women, fighting for survival against the odds, Marcus and Amelia discover a love that will last forever.
A love so strong it will shake Heaven and Hell.

Biography:
Felicity Heaton is a romance author writing as both Felicity Heaton and F E Heaton. She is passionate about penning paranormal tales full of vampires, witches, werewolves, angels and shape-shifters, and has been interested in all things preternatural and fantastical since she was just a child. Her other passion is science-fiction and she likes nothing more than to immerse herself in a whole new universe and the amazing species therein. She used to while away days at school and college dreaming of vampires, werewolves and witches, or being lost in space, and used to while away evenings watching movies about them or reading gothic horror stories, science-fiction and romances.
Having tried her hand at various romance genres, it was only natural for her to turn her focus back to the paranormal, fantasy and science-fiction worlds she enjoys so much. She loves to write seductive, sexy and strong vampires, werewolves, witches, angels and alien species. The worlds she often dreams up for them are vicious, dark and dangerous, reflecting aspects of the heroines and heroes, but her characters also love deeply, laugh, cry and feel every emotion as keenly as anyone does. She makes no excuses for the darkness surrounding them, especially the paranormal creatures, and says that this is their world. She's just honoured to write down their adventures.

Heather Kuehl is a Character Inspiration Spy

By: Heather Kuehl
I've been asked how I come up with my characters. It depends on the character. Sarah Vargas popped in my head thanks to a song lyric. T.D. Drake is from my high school creative writing class. Denna Rainerd from my new release Dream Lover is from people watching.
I love to people watch. It's how I get ideas and create characters. Most writers do it, but I doubt most writers aren't as rude about it as I am. I don't try to hide it if I'm caught watching someone. It's fun to see their reaction. In a way, it shows what type of person they are. Do they quickly look away? Do they glare at me? Do they stare back? It makes me wonder what they would do when faced with adversity. I also like to see how people react to other people. Store clerks. Family. Just like the staring, it tells me so much about the person they are. From there, my imagination takes off.
I also listen to conversations. The ones about little Susie's school day aren't the conversations that get my juices flowing. "I wasn't sure what to do. But since he told me to, I just slit it open." I still don't know what that one was about, but it got me thinking. He who? Slit what open? My mind falls straight into the paranormal world of witches and vampires, and this conversation tidbit was just what my imagination was looking for.
Like with most things, people watching takes time. I don't always see or hear something that strikes my Muse's interest. But when it does…watch out!
Read more about Denna Rainerd in my new release, Dream Lover.
Dream Lover blurb:
Denna Rainerd has dreamed about Warren Connelly for the past ten years, their relationship in the dream world hot and passionate. Pity he isn't real...or is he? Warren wishes that Denna was in his real world, but a human in his world would be a liability. He's a Hunter shapeshifter; sworn to protect his world from the darkest of creatures while he's focused on revenge for the death of his brother. Their worlds collide when Warren saves Denna's life, setting up a chain of events that will change their lives forever.
Will Denna be able to accept Warren's supernatural secrets?

Guest Blog and Giveaway with Linda Thomas-Sunstrom

I was meandering through an art museum in London, checking out all the paintings, and I noticed something strange that made the hair on my nape prickle. In a few of the paintings, from Renaissance through the Impressionists, I could have sworn I saw the same face.
Not a similar face, but the same one, exactly, give or take the hair. It was a very sculpted male face — there in the background. How crazy is that? I went back and forth to check and recheck, to make sure I wasn't nuts. I can't even begin to describe the weirdness of this discovery.
Things got even stranger. Because when I turned for the exit, I saw a man in the doorway . . . and his was the face in the paintings. The same face.
And I just knew this was trouble, and that I had to have just locked on to the presence of an immortal — one who would probably prefer no one made this connection.
I also knew, with perfect clarity, as our eyes met across the marble museum floor, that this was likely not only an immortal, but very probably the vampire who had left my mother in the street to die just several days before. Something in my soul warned of this.
Big hint here: angelic looks on elegant, chic, males, aren't everything. In fact, an immortal's appearance can be its draw, its lure. Even if you will inherit your mother's Slayer abilities when she dies, and know in your heart that this creature of the night across from you, who is older than sin and twice as deadly, is not only your next target, but that in finding his secrets, and his whereabouts, he now might also be targeting you.
I wasn't ready. I wasn't trained. My mother, the only person who could have filled me in, was in the hospital in a coma. It was dark outside. I was alone. I knew the mantra, even if I didn't know what to do. "One Slayer. One target."
Unless my mother died while I was standing there, I was screwed.

Well, fant-tastic bloggers, welcome to the world of Danika Douglas in "Night Born," my new novella release from Harlequin's Nocturne Bites. The enigmatic immortal she meets is Alexander Kent. But he might not be what he seems. In fact, he might be attracted to Danika for altogether different reasons . . . at first.
I just loved writing this novella. It flowed out of me like honey. And when this happens, and the idea burns in you until it's on paper and finished, it's a constant compulsion.
"Write itself" stories are rare for authors, and total author bliss. And because of the background I've already created for my immortals in this "Vampire Moons" series of novellas and full books for Nocturne, of these elegant immortals being so much more than mere vampires, and part of a sect called the Holy Seven, or Blood Knights.
My fanged heros have seen it all, done it all, from the time of the Round Table on up . . . and now might be on the lookout for a way to blend their ancient vows with affairs of the heart, and with the living.

We all love the words "immortal" and "dangerous." Right?
As well as the fiery women who take them on.
"I'll happily give away a download or copy of one of my books to the commenter who has or is now reading "Night Born," or "Golden Vampire" and has something to say, or a question to ask, about my world
*I will also give away a download of one of my ebooks to someone who plays with us here today about this wonderful world of the paranormal, in general, and can say what brings you back to it over and over.
(so 2 winners will be chosen)
You know . . . Like minds.
So - speak up. Let's party!

Unable to shake the unearthly pull to Kera, Dylan takes her hand. Either he's completely insane or he's about to have the adventure of his life, because where they're going is full of creatures he's only read about in horror stories. Worse, the human blood in his veins has Dylan marked for death…

Book Blurb:
Aries has lived her entire life aboard mankind's last hope, the New Dawn, a spaceship traveling toward a planet where humanity can begin anew—a planet that won't be reached in Aries' lifetime. As one of the last genetically desirable women in the universe, she must marry her designated genetic match and produce the next generation for this centuries-long voyage.
But Aries has other plans.
When her desperate escape from the New Dawn strands her on a desert planet, Aries discovers the rumors about pirates—humans who escaped Earth before its demise—are true. Handsome, genetically imperfect Striker possesses the freedom Aries envies, and the two connect on a level she never thought possible. But pursued by her match from above and hunted by the planet's native inhabitants, Aries quickly learns her freedom will come at a hefty price.
The life of the man she loves.

Excerpt:
"Might as well stay here and make camp for the night."
His casual tone stung her composure. How could he talk of such mundane things when they'd almost been captured, when she'd touched him so tenderly?
"We'll let them get farther away," Striker explained, reasonable as always. "We're going in their direction tomorrow."
The sting of rejection grew, burning a hole in her heart. "Why?"
"Why what?"
Her lips trembled. "Why not kiss me like you did before?"
"I can't." He shook his head, and the air cooled between them; so much so, Aries wondered if the desert had turned into deep space.
He'd teased her with such affection before, it was cruel to take it away. "I don't understand," she said, wishing she didn't care, wishing she could stop all the emotions he'd started in her heart.
Aries caught a glimpse of pain etched in the wrinkles around his eyes. Striker turned away and started pulling supplies out of his backpack. "I can't do this."
"Do what?"
Striker shook his head and Aries prompted, "Can't kiss me, can't trust me? What?"
"I can't allow myself to get tangled up with someone. Not again."
The thoughts of Striker with another woman confused her. On the New Dawn, everyone had one lifemate and that was it. "You mean you loved someone before?"
Striker's hand tightened on the backpack. "I trusted someone a long time ago, allowed myself to love, if you will. She hurt me so much I lost my entire life and ended up here. I can't experience that kind of pain again."
Aries clasped her hand over her heart. "I'm so sorry."
He waved her apology off as if it meant nothing. "It's a tough world, Aries. And it's dangerous to love. If I were you, I'd keep my heart well-guarded, because you never know when it will affect your decisions, when it will make you weak."
Aries couldn't take his advice. Watching him talk about his past made her realize she'd already given up her heart.
He had it.
