A momento

and a woohoo! I buy a little something for every long work I finish (novella and up). I have a wall of art, tees, little pieces of jewelry and whatnot. This is my necklace as my woohoo for the zombie book I just wrapped up. God, I loved that book, I'm itching to do the sequel. The whole cast and crew were sharp. They had serious braaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaains...heh.

11 must be one of...

my lucky numbers. I said that Learning to Drown was #11 on Fictionwise in Erotica. Now it's #11 on ARe (paid works) in Romantic Literature. Yay and also yay! It warms my cockles to see it doing so well. Have I mentioned I have a mushy spot in my heart for this novel?

the mail elves were kind to me yesterday...

First, these gorgeous copies of Nice Girls, Naughty Sex...

And then a whole box of my newest novel Learning to Drown.

Hmm. I typed boxy the first time. Must be a hybrid of sexy and box. A boxy bunch of books!

Got Coffee?

Then head over the Coffee Fueled Erotica and see my miniature horse (and a handy dandy interview, too). No. That's not a euphemism. But if you want to know what it means. You have to go. Heh. ;)

TGIF!

stoked stoked STOKED!

I know! I know you should not have favorites. But Learning To Drown was a labor of love for me. I started it for one editor, then there was upheaval at the publisher, then I put it aside. I went back to it when that editor roosted at a new place. But then it all changed again. This book went all around the mulberry bush and me with it as I was writing it.
When I finally finished it and sent it to my publisher Excessica and it was taken...I was thrilled.

Now my baby is #11 in erotica on Fictionwise with some nice ratings. I am stoked! Happy! Thrilled! Psyched! And other things that end with !!!!
:)

Ready? Reviews!

Okay, so I have been wrestling with myself (fun to watch) over something recently. Posting reviews here. Part of me loves it, part of me hates it, most of me is over it. Not over the fact that people take the time to read and review my work. I love that. And I am sincerely grateful for every good review I get.
But I get tired of me-me-ing to be honest. I have a lot of books in rotation, which means a good amount of reviews at any given time. It's how I like things. Shuffling along at a good clip, never a moment to go stagnant or doze off. I'm always writing, so it stands to reason I'll always be releasing (hopehopehope).
It's not my nature to shout look at me! look at me! look at me! and jump up and down. Which is sort of how I feel when I post all these review snippets back to back.
So, at first I said, no more! No more reviews posted here.
Of course....then four superb reviews came in back to back, all in a row, lined up for me in candy-coated colors like Pez in a dispenser.
Damn.

But I held out. However, it bothered me that people take the time to read and review me and I can't even give them a woohoo! I did reviews for About.com a million years ago, and if you are a good reviewer, it takes time to write a review. I know this.

So...happy medium. Every once in a while, I'll go ahead and post them. All at once. All in one fell swoop. So that readers can skip the post if they like and the blog won't be clogged with me-me-me-ing but actual blogs about actual things.

Tada. Ready? Reviews....

This one is actually a picture file sent to me by my UK publisher for my just out paperback Hard Lessons. Click it. It gets bigger. heh ;)

Here are four and a half(!) cherries from Honeysuckle at Whipped Cream Reviews for Dirty or Die. She is too, too kind to me. :)

This one is for 4 stars from Manic Readers for my handsome angel Alex Church...yum. Angels.

And the final one for this murder of reviews is from The Readers Roundtable: 4.5 crowns for my shifters in Allure. May has done me proud, that spunky little bobcat.

Okay! Done! Ah, that felt good. I have posted links to some fab reviews by some fab reviewers and now I don't have to me-me-me myself (oooh, dirty) for a while. Tada!

MP3 "Playah"

So the girl child killed her MP3 player. Her faithful morning bus stop/dishes after dinner/chore companion. She has butter fingers (like her mother) and dropped it one too many times. Distraught because now she did not have her evasive maneuver in the morning. See, she likes to play it at the bus stop because she can still eavesdrop but avoid talking to people she really doesn't like (what can I say, she has her mother's antisocial gene). She demanded a new one ASAP. Had the money and everything.
So she found one online. I ordered it, it came super fast. It was small and light and cute. I could tell from the get-go she hated it. She put music on it, gave it a few hours and then came down to announce that it was too hard to use and 'too light'. She couldn't tell it was there, therefore would drop it often. She deleted everything, boxed it up. Wanted me to send it back.

It occurred to me to let boy child try it. I will do ANYTHING to avoid shipping items back to a vendor for some reason. He had twenty bucks and if I withheld 2 months allowance it would be paid for. Easy peazy lemon squeezy. He's wanted one for a while anyway and has his mother's inability to save money.
Problem solved!

Until two hours later. "It's too hard to operate. I'm not sure. I don't think I like it..."
Fine, fine, FINE! I will take it, says I. I have just gotten back into running. I can't imagine a better song to run to than When They Come For Me (see below). I will take the damn thing you crazy freaking picky kids!
I used it to run this morning. At one point I wanted to go from MCR to the song mentioned above. I had to stop to find it. Could not find it. Could not GET to it. Ten minutes I stood still. I was supposed to be running. Finally, finally, I figured it out. Then the rest of the run the earbuds kept popping out of my ears.

So it's going back. That little slut has made its way through the whole damn family and everyone hates it. Now comes the hard part...Shipping it back? Nah. Telling they kids THEY WERE RIGHT.

XOXO

We are now experiencing the...

The quiet side of my nature. I know what you're saying: you don't have one! Oh, but I do. And me and the QS have been doing the tango for about a week now. Good news is I have finished that project I was so stoked about and turned it in. GoodER news is the man and I celebrated 15 years of marriage yesterday. Neutral news, I'll be quiet more than usual for a bit. Things are chaotic at best.

Happy Friday!

My current theme song is below. I swear to you, this drum beat is in my blood now I've played this so many times in the last week or so...

Another freebie...

I forgot this story A Smear of Red was a Valentine's story. So consider it a late Valentine. It will stay up as a freebie (along with Love is in the Air) through the end of February. Both are entirely free reads on ARe.

Go get one. Or both. Have a dirty weekend. :)
