In his first solo exhibition of all new work at Rourke Museum since 2004’s
THE WILD BUNCH, Jonathan Twingley presents
IN REAL-TIME, a carnival of drawings and paintings featuring images based on YouTube screen captures, nude beach Tumblrs, still shots from cable news broadcasts, funerals, fashion shows, talk shows and rodeos. Life in New York City makes an appearance, as well, in paintings based on sketchbook drawings of subway cars and low-lit downtown bars.
IN REAL-TIME is a cross-eyed snapshot of our Modern Times, the public and the personal, the devils in the details.
