What Are You Reading This Week?

What books have made it to the top of your TBR pile this week?  Right now I'm enjoying a wonderful medieval historical romance by Claire Delacroix called The Snow White Bride.

I'll be blogging about it – and Claire's other books – in a few weeks.

I'm also re-reading Saul David's book, The Prince of Pleasure:  The Prince of Wales and the Making of the Regency, the fabulous bio of George IV.  It's a wonderful (and jaw-dropping) history, and is one of the best books out there on the Regency...

Booklist: The New Stars of Historical Romance

Booklist, the prestigious review journal for the American Library Association, recently published an on-line article about historical romance as an essential facet of the romance genre. The authors of the article noted that:

"For a subgenre to truly thrive, though, it needs an infusion of new literary blood. Fortunately, the historical romance subgenre has seen the debut of a wealth of terrific new writers in the last few years." (John Charles and Shelley Mosley)

Much to my surprise and delight, Booklist included me as one of the "new stars" of historical romance, specifically highlighting my last book, SEX AND THE SINGLE EARL! Some of the other authors named by Booklist are Tessa Dare, Meredith Duran, Anthea Lawson, Sherry Thomas, and Courtney Milan. I'm honored to be mentioned in the same breath with so many talented historical romance writers.
