On This Day in Leadership History, November 19th

On this day in leadership history in 1863, US President Abraham Lincoln delivers his Gettysburg address beginning; “Four score & seven years ago…”. In just over two minutes, Lincoln reiterated the principles of human equality espoused by the Declaration of Independence with “a new birth of freedom” that would bring true equality to all of its citizens.

What’s the leadership lesson? Keep your words concise as possible as a leader—most people will tune out if your message isn’t focused.

Generous Endorsement from Duke Energy Corporation

Thank you, Shannon Todd – Director of Environmental Services Carolinas, Duke Energy Corporation – for your generous endorsement of Lee and Leading with Honor

“Colonel Ellis spoke to my team during a recent strategic planning session, and he did a great job linking the key elements of the Courageous Accountability Model with his experience as a Prisoner of War in Vietnam. The entire audience was engaged throughout the presentation and came away with a renewed sense of purpose and perspective on the challenges we face day in and day out.

The feedback from my team was overwhelmingly positive, and Colonel Ellis’ presentation set the foundation for one of the best team meetings I’ve had a chance to lead.”
