MARTIN LUTHER KING Jr. and THE FBI

"FBI wiretaps have "given us the most powerful and persuasive source of all for seeing how utterly selfless Martin Luther King was," as a civil rights leader, according to a leading civil rights scholar. "You see him being intensely self-critical. King really and truly believed that he was there to be of service to others. This was not a man with any egomaniacal joy of being a famous person, or being a leader," said Pulitzer Prize-winning scholar David Garrow.

Hoping to prove the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. was under the influence of Communists, the FBI kept the civil rights leader under constant surveillance.   The agency's hidden tape recorders turned up almost nothing about communism.  But they did reveal embarrassing details about King's sex life -- details the FBI was able to use against him.  The almost fanatical zeal with which the FBI pursued King is disclosed in tens of thousands of FBI memos from the 1960s.  The FBI paper trail spells out in detail the government agency's concerted efforts to derail King's efforts on behalf of the civil rights movement.  The FBI's interest in King intensified after the March on Washington in August 1963, when King delivered his "I have a dream speech," which many historians consider the most important speech of the 20th century. After the speech, an FBI memo called King the "most dangerous and effective Negro leader in the country."  (SEE COPY OF MEMO BELOW)

The bureau convened a meeting of department heads to "explore how best to carry on our investigation [of King] to produce the desired results without embarrassment to the Bureau," which included "a complete analysis of the avenues of approach aimed at neutralizing King as an effective Negro leader."

The FBI began secretly tracking King's flights and watching his associates. In July 1963, a month before the March on Washington, FBI Director J. Edgar Hoover filed a request with Attorney General Robert Kennedy to tap King's and his associates' phones and to bug their homes and offices.  In September, Kennedy consented to the technical surveillance. Kennedy gave the FBI permission to break into King's office and home to install the bugs, as long as agents recognized the "delicacy of this particular matter" and didn't get caught installing them. Kennedy added a proviso -- he wanted to be personally informed of any pertinent information."

"The most dangerous negro..."

The FBI File consists of  17,000 pages of materials about Martin Luther King, Jr.   The U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation conducted surveillance of Rev. King from 1958 until his death. Documents have been censored and many pages include blacked-out sections. Due to a court order any information about or from FBI wiretaps have been removed and will not be released until 2027. Because of the surveillance, this file constitutes an extensive record of Rev. King's day-to-day activities.

The  King-Levison File consists of "verbatim transcripts and detailed summaries of telephone conversations between King and one of his most trusted confidants, Stanley D. Levison, a New York lawyer and businessman with whom the civil rights leader spoke on an almost daily basis for more than six years."

MECHANICS OF MAGIC

Janis Joplin was, in my opinion, the most natively talented female rock and roll singer of all time.  Her raw, untrained talent was nothing less than god-given.  Yet, greatness must be earned with intelligence, hard work and persistence.  Janis was an example of a genius who deserved her fame and fortune.... she paid her dues in the studio and on the Stage of Life. She knew her trade.  She worked hard.  She was passionate about her art. May she Rest in Peace in Rock and Roll Heaven.

Janis Lyn Joplin (January 19, 1943 – October 4, 1970) was an American singer-songwriter. Joplin first rose to prominence in the late 1960s as the lead singer of the psychedelic-acid rock band Big Brother and the Holding Company, and later as a solo artist with her more soulful and bluesy backing groups, The Kozmic Blues Band and The Full Tilt Boogie Band. She was one of the more popular acts at the Monterey Pop Festival and later became one of the major attractions to the Woodstock festival and the Festival Express train tour. Janis Joplin charted five singles, and other popular songs from her four-year career include "Down on Me", "Summertime", "Piece of My Heart", "Ball 'n' Chain", "Maybe", "To Love Somebody", "Kozmic Blues", "Work Me, Lord", "Cry Baby", "Mercedes Benz", and her only number one hit, "Me and Bobby McGee". Joplin was well known for her performing abilities, and her fans referred to her stage presence as "electric". At the height of her career, she was known as "The Queen of Rock and Roll" as well as "The Queen of Psychedelic Soul," and became known as Pearl amongst her friends. She was also a painter, dancer and music arranger. Rolling Stone magazine ranked Joplin number 46 on its list of the 100 Greatest Artists of All Time in 2004,and number 28 on its 2008 list of 100 Greatest Singers of All Time. She was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1995.

The word "psychology" means, literally:  Psyche (The Spirit or Soul) + -ology  (the study of).  However, the so-called "science" of psychiatry is nothing whatsoever to do with Spirits or Souls.  Instead it is a mind control operation funded primarily by governments, as developed, originally, by Nazi medical doctors working to exterminate the "undesirables" of human populations.

Here is a wonderful article about the current "thinking" and "innovation" of the "Priests of Modern Mental Science".  The Lords of Government Mind Control are working VERY hard to invent more new ways to confuse, befuddle and submerge our Immortal Spiritual Selves in a morass of mind-control double-speak, total bullshit, psychiatric chemicals and outright fantasy they pass off on the human population as "scientific fact".  These are the very beings that George Orwell warned us about in the book 1984.  And, the very same "prison guards" described in the military transcripts published in the book Alien Interview.

These maniacs are behind every single school yard shooting massacre, every war, and every covert operation being run by every secret service activity on planet Earth.   This report illustrates the mind-boggling nonsense of the "science of psychobabble".  Beware and avoid.

"What Are They Doing?  My Visit to a Psychology Conference

"In April [1998], it was my privilege to attend the joint convention of the Western Psychological Association and the Rocky Mountain Psychological Association (WRMPA). The four-day event took place at the Albuquerque Convention Center, in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Wandering from room to room, I found many surprising and delightful things.

Terror

For me, the highlight of the convention was a lecture—a prestigious "invited presentation"—by Jeff Greenberg of the University of Arizona. The topic was "Managing the Terror of Being Human: Theory and Research". The man knows his subject cold, as you can see from this description he wrote in the convention guidebook:

Biography

My terror began in the Bronx in 1954. It was amplified by my undergraduate experience at Penn and my graduate training at SMU and the University of Kansas. It has continued to grow over my 15 years at the University of Arizona.

Ignore the Face

I also enjoyed a lecture by Joseph J. Campos of the University of California at Berkeley. Campos raised the question, "Does the Face Really 'Express' Emotions?" His answer was a ringing No, "except under very special conditions."

Fluid Meaning

I accidentally touched off a minor incident the day after Georgia Tech professor Randy Engle gave a presentation on the topic "Working Memory Capacity, Controlled Attention and General Fluid Intelligence". I asked nine experienced psychology professors to define the phrase "general fluid intelligence". None of them could, although one did opine that "the lecturer probably knows what it means."


Poster Sessions: Smells, Oils, a Princess, and Hair

Although there were many stimulating lectures, the most exciting action was in the poster sessions. In case you've never been to a poster session, I should explain the general idea. Dozens of student teams, and the occasional professor, each hung up a poster describing

their recent projects. In each session, you can stroll the aisles and see anywhere from 20 to 50 or more posters.

The first poster session, held on Thursday at 9:00 a.m., celebrated the general themes "Human Learning, Memory, and Cognition." I was especially roused by three special posters: "Effects of Pleasant Ambient Odor on Memory Recall;" "Flash-bulb Memories for the Death of Princess Diana;" and "Essential Oils' Effects on Memory."

An 11:00 a.m. poster session concerned "Applied Psychology." One poster discoursed on "The Effects of Odor and Stress on Mood." Another, more abstruse, was entitled "Perceived Age of Teenage Females: Effect of Complexion, Makeup, Hairstyle, and Apparel." I found it provocative.

A 1:00 p.m. poster session delved into "Social Issues", and featured a gem of a poster called "The Influence of Male Facial Hair on Perceptions of Age." It, too, must be described as provocative.

Boredom

The convention was a multi-ring circus, with more simultaneous wonders than any one person could take in. Also at 1:00, but down the hall from the poster session, Mary B. Harris and Keith Zvoch of the University of New Mexico presented their paper on "Boredom and Boredom Proneness in College Students." Some members of the audience found it stimulating.

More Smells, Parking, and Arousal

Friday morning was lovely in Albuquerque, with pink and blue skies, comfy temperatures, and psychologists in every nook and cranny. The 10:00 poster session was all about "Brain Function and Sensory Process." There was an impressively worded poster entitled "Anterior EEG Asymmetry and Odor Hedonics: Gender Effects". Not far away, an anxious crowd perused a poster called "Human Foraging Strategies: Outcomes for Campus Parking." A knot of students pored intently over a poster called "Arousal, Sleep, and Time Perspective in University Students." Sadly, only a few of them even glanced at the poster with the most intriguing title: "Can a Rat Who Has Never Known Water Know Thirst?"

Smiles Different Similarities, Photos

A noontime poster session on "Social-Personality Psychology" contained two special treats: "How Smiling and Pupil Dilation Affect Perceived Personality" and "Stereotype Reduction Through Similarity Differences."

The noon hour also featured another prestigious "invited presentation" in the main ballroom. Roger S. Ulrich of Texas A&M University described his research on patients in surgical recovery rooms. As the patients emerge from their anesthetic haze, Ulrich shows them big color photographs of the great outdoors. If I understood him correctly, Ulrich said that this "improves health outcomes," and that therefore his is actively marketing his services to hospitals and clinics.

At 1:20 in the same ballroom, the editor of the Annals of Improbable Research delivered another of the convention's "invited presentations." The topic was "Improbable Research and the Ig Nobel Prizes." Curiously this was the only session in four days in which I saw people laughing. It began at 1:20 rather than 1:00 on the dot because the previous lecturer, Roger S. Ulrich, wouldn't stop talking about how hospitals should buy his nature photos.

Punching, Dolls, and Car Characters

The Friday 1:00 poster session treated us to research on the following topics: "Boxer and Spectators: Perceptions and Characteristics of Pugilism"; "Body Satisfaction in Relation to Media Exposure, Self-Monitoring, and Barbie Doll Ownership"; "Effects of Descriptive Norms and Self-Awareness on Littering"; and my favorite of the day, "Car Color: An Indicator of Driver Personality."

Sex, Sex, Paranoia, Hostility, and Sex

The Saturday early morning poster session delved further into the theme of "Social-Personality Psychology". I saw a variety of interesting posters: "Situational Capture of Cardiovascular Arousal During an Erotic Episode"; "Machiavellian Differences on the Erotometer"; "Paranoia: Differences in Social Desirability"; and "Hostile Automatic Thoughts: A Validity Study." Oh—and I shouldn't forget to mention a crowd favorite: "Hair Stylists; Therapeutic Characteristics and Their Clients' Levels of Self-Disclosure." All in all, this session was a most interesting way to begin a Saturday.

And the 10:00 session was, if anything, even better. Its overall topic, "Stress and Coping", was highlighted by two posters. The first, entitled "Sleep Quality and Anxiety Affect Distress Scores Measured During Finals", was of special interest to students. The other, "Health Effects of the Interruption of an Emotional Writing Paradigm", was of special interest to anyone who wanted to know what an Emotional Writing Paradigm is.

The noontime poster session dealt with "Education Psychology." Three posters stood out from the bunch: "Introductory Psychology Activities Using Van Gogh as a Case Study"; "Predictors of Academic Procrastination in College Students"; and the dryly written yet riveting "Ethical Issues Involving Graduate Teaching Assistants." A senior professor of my acquaintance saw me contemplating the "Ethical Issues" poster, and stage whispered "They should have called it 'Can We Sleep Together?'"

Simulating Boredom

Saturday afternoon, Carl. N. Perlotto, M. Lyn Hoefer, and N. Clayton Silver of the University of Nevada at Las Vegas presented their paper "The Ludic Love Style: Difference in Sexual Boredom". My courage failed me, so I did not attend their session.

I did manage to drop in, later, on the final poster session of the day, and so was able to learn about "Age-Related Differences in the Attentional Blink."

Odor Ordinance, Ungrateful Dread, and Exeunt

Sunday, the final day of the convention, was a whirl of brunches and business card swapping. I caught Cheryl L. Asmus and Paul Bell's 9:00 a.m. talk on "Post-Implementation of an Odor Ordinance," and then zipped through the convention's final poster session. It was there that I encountered the inspirational "Depressed Individuals Show No Gratitude."

At that point I had to rush off to the hotel, grab my bags, and cab it to the airport, tired, laden with notes and trinkets, but grateful for the chance to have seen so many remarkable "psychological wonders".

DOWNTON ABBEY -- an egalitarian overview for viewers of "public" television, financed by "charitable contributions" from the Mega-wealthy, who want you to think you deserve their pity:

Pretentious, self-indulgent vulgarity, greed, gluttony, disdain for the peasant class, grotesque extravagances of the Imperial British social / economic establishment in England, flaunting the arrogance of myopia of assholes who arduously grunt through an incessant utter waste of creative resources lavished upon the self-appointed royalty,  who murder innocent wildlife for amusement, pontificate with gratuitous condescension their disdain for humanity, while pretending piety, by the  murderous thieves who stole the wealth of many continents by brutal force of arms so they can stuff their flaccid faces full of culinary delicacies five times a day while attired in evening dress and catered to by Caucasian slaves -- without regard to the Karmic consequences of their criminal decadence!  This tedious ordeal is made to appear "civil" through the cinematic ruse of elaborately aesthetic costumes, quarters and cutlery and a synthetic English countryside where it never, ever rains.... (it's not a Reality Show, but then, Reality Shows are not "real" either....)

VIEWER BEWARE

The video clip (below)  is an excellent example of the reason that we cannot trust ANYTHING we see on film, video, television, Facebook, etc. to be "real".  The art of Computer Generated Imaging (CGI) in the film and television industry is now so highly developed that the viewing audience cannot distinguish between reality and fantasy.  When this technology is applied as intentional disinformation in the hands of those who desire to confuse and control us, let the Viewer beware!  How do we know what is "true".  How can we determine what is intentional disinformation or propaganda?

Here is a excerpt from the book THE OZ FACTORS that addresses this subject:

"5/ SHE FELL FROM A STAR

             "Come out, come out, wherever you are and meet the young lady who fell from a star ... "--Glinda sings to the Munchkins in 'The Wizard of Oz'

             False information, less diplomatically stated, could be called lies. Sometimes lies are unintentional. Sometimes lies are intentional. Regardless, false is false, and we need to inspect all the information we receive to ensure that it is not false.

            One way to know if information is false is to determine whether the information helps us achieve a workable solution or does it lead toward continued mystery.

            Such scrutiny may seem obvious, but few people critically examine information they receive. Whether the information has to do with the meaning of life or how to bake a better chocolate chip cookie, it is wise to put the information to the test before using it to develop any theories or before taking action based upon it.

            Logically, before we go skipping down the Yellow Brick Road into the unknown, a few simple precautions might prove useful.

            Precaution 1: Does the information contain actual statistics or documented evidence or is it just a broad, sweeping generalized statement?

            The morning newspaper headlines have propagandized a recent political effort to take guns away from the citizens with broad, general statements like: "Street gangs are sweeping the country! The youth of America are all killing each other with illegal handguns!"

Of course, no violent deaths are acceptable. But, when was the last time you personally observed a street gang shoot-out? Check out the facts: In 1990 there were 971 black youths and 942 white youths under the age of 18 who were victims of homicide in the United States. Hardly an epidemic compared to a total of 9,923 total people killed with handguns in the same year.

            By contrast, 12,400 people were killed by accidental falls. So, why don't the newspapers have headlines about "The Terrible Tragedy of Gravity"?

            More than 28,642 people committed suicide in 1990 and 69,225 died of pneumonia or flu. Cigarette smoking was a major killer with 78,380 deaths from emphysema. Meanwhile, in a real, honest-to-god-epidemic, 476,927 people died of cancer! How much effort is being made by the propaganda machines of big government to prevent smoking which is one of the principle causes of cancer?

            False information is also spread simply by failing to include all of the correct information or including too much information.

            Precaution 2: Does the information help your survival? Is it destructive? Is it just plain upsetting?

            Asking the news media to report "the truth" is like asking a fly crawling on a cow pie for an accurate description of the cow. The kind of information we receive from the morning news on television or in newspapers or 'Time' magazine is, factually, very often highly spin-doctored, altered and misinterpreted. The so-called "news" is nothing more than a very tiny slice of the most shocking, disastrous, upsetting, tragic, gruesome, inhumane events which these sources painstakingly cut from the relatively large and lovely pie of life.        This "news" is gathered from isolated sources, at great expense and selectively edited using the most sensationally colored prose imaginable. Yet the mainstream media news neglect to report the fact that billions of people and billions of other life forms on this planet are enjoying happy lives--no thanks to them!

            Does reading or hearing about every single psychopathic rape/murder/theft/mayhem/disaster that occurs anywhere on the entire planet really improve the quality of your life or happiness? Or is this information you can more happily live without?

             6/ THE RUBY SLIPPERS

             "Take special care of those Ruby Slippers. I want those most of all!"--The Wicked Witch of the West in 'The Wizard of Oz'

             Definition: Vested Interest--1/ a survival or non-survival plan or agenda which has been "clothed" to make it seem like something other than what it actually is; 2/ any person, group or entity which prevents or controls communication to serve their own purposes.

            Example: Governments control communication between the people of their country. You must get a passport to travel to another country. You must pass through a customs' inspection in order to enter the country. You must pay taxes (money is a form of communication). You must get a license to get married or go into business.

            Example: Religions prevent and control communication between people and the gods, saints and spirits. You have to pay the priest money for him to "bless" you or to "absolve" you of "sin" as a supposed representative of the god(s).

            Example: A husband usually tries to prevent communication between his wife and other potential lovers.

            What would happen if you could safely communicate with everything and everyone?

            Political, religious and financial vested interests, typically, DO NOT want people to answer this question. The reason is simple: if you could safely communicate with anyone or anything, they would be out of business!

            Such institutions very frequently determine what we are allowed to believe by feeding us their version of "the truth". Our "belief" in their version of "the truth" is usually backed up by the threat of death, imprisonment, excommunication or bankruptcy.

            All human beings have flesh bodies. Flesh bodies require food, shelter, clothing and as many other goods and creature comforts as one can buy, borrow or pillage. This seems to be a common denominator of survival. It is also a source of illogical thinking which has tended to clog the water mains of our minds with all manner of unspeakable refuse: namely, our vested interest in survival.

            Survival requires stuff, and stuff costs money and money takes work. This often means that we must each pretend to "like" someone or "believe" in something--that we could actually care less about--for the sake of "earning a living"."
