The Kybalion was first published in 1908 by the Yogi Publication Society and is now in the public domain. The book purports to be based upon ancient Hermeticism, which has been sought after by many of the great thinkers and heretics of history, including the Italian martyr Giordano Bruno.

FOUNDER OF THE “NEW AGE”
Baron Eugene Fersen, ‘The Teacher of The Teachers,’ launched in his time the greatest ‘Human Potential Movement’ that would later become the inspiration for what he called, the ‘New Age.’
Baron Eugene Fersen was born November 18th, 1873 in Saint Petersburg, Russia. He began teaching by the early 1890's and went to the great beyond on April 24th, 1956. He was the eldest son of a Grand Duchess of Russia/Poland. His mother knew before his birth that he was to be a guiding light for the people of this World; she called him Svetozar, meaning The Lightbearer. The Baron’s mother saw to it that her son had the proper teachers and education that would assist and support the Absolute Eternal Aspects of his Soul so as to fulfill his divine destiny. Eugene’s uncle was Count Leo Tolstoy, the writer famously known for his renowned literary works War and Peace and Anna Karenina. Tolstoy was one of Mohandas Gandhi’s greatest influences and friend.
Baron Fersen came to the United States for his second lecture tour in 1904 to share his already popularized teachings and lessons known as the Science Of Being. From the late 1800s, Eugene’s teachings taught or influenced many of the great thinkers, writers, inventors and leaders of the 19th and 20th centuries. Here are a few of the highly influential people he taught:
Charles Francis Haanel (May 22, 1866 – November 27, 1949) (The Master Key System)
Elizabeth Towne (Author of The Life Power and How to Use it is shown in the opening sequence of the 2006 movie The Secret. The film presents many of the ideas that she promoted, along with those of Wallace Wattles and William Walker Atkinson.)
Wallace D. Wattles (1860–1911) (The Science Of Getting Rich and The Science Of Being Well)
Edgar Cayce (March 18, 1877 – January 3, 1945) was an American mysticwho possessed the ability to answer questions on subjects as varied as healing, reincarnation, wars, Atlantis and future events while in a trance. Cayce founded a nonprofit organization, the Association for Research and Enlightenment.

Samuel Langhorne Clemens (November 30, 1835 – April 21, 1910),better known by his pen name Mark Twain, was an American author and humorist. He wrote The Adventures of Tom Sawyer (1876) and its sequel, Adventures of Huckleberry Finn (1885),the latter often called "the Great American Novel."
William Walker Atkinson (December 5, 1862 – November 22, 1932) wrote more than 100 groundbreaking "self-help" books in the last 30 years of his life. Nikola Tesla (10 July 1856 – 7 January 1943) was a Serbian-American inventor, electrical engineer, mechanical engineer, and futurist best known for his contributions to the design of the modern alternating current (AC) electricity supply system, and MANY other of the most important inventions of the 19th and 20th Century. Most important is his invention of a source of Free Electrical Energy, which has been brutally suppressed by the oil industry and banking interests for 100 years.
Manly P. Hall (March 18, 1901 – August 29, 1990) Canadian-born author and mystic. He is best known for his 1928 work The Secret Teachings of All Ages.
Rudolph Steiner (25/27 February 1861– 30 March 1925) was an Austrian philosopher, social reformer,architect, and esotericist.Steiner published philosophical works including The Philosophy of Freedom. AMBITIOUS ADVICE

"The following compelling advice is credited to Mark Twain in self-help books and on websites. It is valuable guidance in my opinion:
"Keep away from people who try to belittle your ambitions. Small people always do that, but the really great make you feel that you, too, can become great."
While searching to learn more about the saying I came across another version which used a different wording. The word “people” was replaced with “those”, and “feel” was replaced with “believe”:
"Keep away from those who try to belittle your ambitions. Small people always do that, but the really great make you believe that you too can become great."
Did Twain say or write either of these expressions?
Quote Investigator: The earliest evidence known to QI was published in 1938 in the memoir of an extraordinary elocutionist who gave recitals at Chautauquas around the United States. Chautauquas were assemblies that combined entertainment and education by presenting lecturers, preachers, musicians, and other performers to a largely rural audience. Gay Zenola MacLaren wrote in her memoir that she met Mark Twain when she was still a child who aspired to be a great performer. Twain offered her the following counsel:
He opened the door for me himself. As we said good-bye, he put his fingers lightly under my chin and lifted my head up so that my eyes met his.
“Little girl,” he said earnestly, “keep away from people who try to belittle your ambitions. Small people always do that, but the really great make you feel that you, too, can become great.”
The date of the meeting was not listed in the book.
In 1901 a review of a performance by MacLaren was published in a Brooklyn, New York newspaper:
She has an almost ventriloquistic power of changing her voice from the light tones of women to the heavier speaking of men, so the recital was thoroughly well balanced and was given with intelligence.
In 1909 the periodical “The Lyceumite and Talent” printed an advertisement for Gay Zenola MacLaren that included a testimonial statement from Mark Twain:

In 1938 Time magazine reviewed MacLaren’s memoir and noted that she “got her big chance at the New York Chautauqua”. The magazine presented an eclectic list of participants at Chautauquas:
Thereafter she followed the Chautauqua circuit, along with chalk-talk artists, bell ringers, evangelists, yodlers, zither performers, magicians, bagpipe players, ventriloquists and the strange assortment of educators and entertainers who, in brown tents pitched in small towns all over the U. S., spread culture to apathetic audiences before the War.
In 1948 a large compilation of quotations titled “Mark Twain at Your Fingertips” edited by Caroline Thomas Harnsberger was published. The statement was included, and the accompanying citation pointed to MacLaren’s memoir:

From an article published in the RICHMOND TIMES-DISPATCH, February 21, 1915, By Mr. Nikola Tesla

There In no constellation or nebula, no sun or planet, in all the depths of limitless space, no passing wanderer of the starry heavens, that does not exercise some control over its destiny. Not in the vague and delusive sense of astrology, but in the rigid and positive meaning of physical science.
More than this can be said. There is no thing endowed with life -- from man, who is enslaving the element to the humblest creature in all this world -- that does not sway it in turn. Whenever action is born from force, though it be infinitesimal, the cosmic balance is upset and universal motion results.”

Great strides have since been made in the art of anatomy, physiology and all branches of science, and the workings of the man-machine are now perfectly clear. Yet the very fewest among us are able to trace their actions to primary external causes. It is indispensable to the arguments I shall advance to keep In mind the main facts which I have myself established in years of close reasoning and observation and which may be summed up as follows:
1. The human being is a self-propelled automaton entirely under the control of external influences. Willful and predetermined though they appear, his actions are governed not from within, but from without. He is like a float tossed about by the waves of a turbulent sea.
2. There is no memory or retentive faculty based on lasting impression. What we designate as memory is but increased responsiveness to repeated stimuli.
3. It is not true, as Descartes taught, that the brain is an accumulator. There is no permanent record in the brain, there Is no stored sponge to disturbances directly received on the knowledge. Knowledge Is something akin to an echo that needs a disturbance to be called into being."

YOUR COSMIC AGE
Time is a measurement of the motion of objects through space.
The planets in our solar system orbit around the sun. One orbit of the Earth takes one year. Meanwhile, our entire solar system orbits the center of the Milky Way galaxy. Our sun and solar system move at about 800 thousand kilometers an hour – that’s about 500 thousand miles an hour – in this huge orbit. So in 90 seconds, for example, we all move some 20,000 kilometers – or 12,500 miles – in orbit around the galaxy’s center.
Our Milky Way galaxy is a big place. Even at this blazing speed, it takes the sun approximately 225-250 million years to complete one journey around the galaxy’s center. This amount of time – the time it takes us to orbit the center of the galaxy – is sometimes called a “cosmic year.”
Revolve means “orbit around another body.” Earth revolves (or orbits) around the sun. The sun revolves around the center of the Milky Way galaxy.
On the other hand, rotate means “to spin on its axis”. The Earth rotates every 24 hours. The sun rotates, but not at a single rate across its surface. The movements of the sunspots indicate that the sun rotates once every 27 days at its equator, but only once in 31 days at its poles.
What about the Milky Way galaxy? Yes, the whole galaxy could be said to rotate, but like the sun it is spinning at different rates as you move outward from its center. At our sun’s distance from the center of the Milky Way, it’s rotating once about every 200 million years – defined by the length of time the sun takes to orbit the center of the galaxy.
If you are an Immortal Spiritual Being, how "old" are you in "Cosmic Years"? (this is a rhetorical question...)

TESLA FREE ENERGY TOWER CONSTRUCTION PROJECT
Two Russian physicists are fundraising to realize their project for wireless energy transmission once proposed by brilliant 20th-century scientist Nikola Tesla. Solar panels and an upgraded Tesla Tower could solve global energy hunger, they say.
Leonid and Sergey Plekhanov, graduates of the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology, claim they have spent years scrutinizing the Nikola Tesla’s patents and diaries and they believe that with his most ambitious project – transcontinental wireless energy transmissions – Tesla came very close to unprecedented scientific discovery that could be brought to fruition.

The enthusiasts say they need about $800,000 to reconstruct the famous Wardenclyffe Tower once created by Tesla himself to implement his ideas and find a commercial application for his ideas on long-distance wireless energy transmission.
The Plekhanov brothers are raising money through IndieGogo kickstarter. The campaign will last until July 25. So far the project has managed to collect only 2 percent of the desired sum (about $18,000 out of the desired $800,000 as we publish this article).
According to the authors of the project, as of today all human civilization’s electric energy needs could be covered with a single installation of solar panel measured approximately 316 by 316 kilometers (100,000 square kilometers altogether) positioned in a desert somewhere near the equator.
They believe the only stumbling block to such a project is the delivery of electric energy to final consumers, as the loss of energy directly depends on the distance of transmission.
The Plekhanov brothers believe that only experimental verification of the theory could help the original idea become reality. They also say that their “creative interpretation" of the physical model proposed by Tesla has already been confirmed by “numerical simulation in Ansoft HFSS software.”

The original Wardenclyffe Tower (also dubbed the “Tesla Tower”), was constructed by Nikola Tesla in Shoreham, about 100 kilometers from New York, in 1901–17. It never became fully operational. The 57-meter-high tower was made of wood and copper and after a number of experiences to perform trans-Atlantic wireless power transmission, as well as commercial broadcasting and wireless telephony, the tower was disassembled in 1917.
Leonid and Sergey Plekhanov believe the construction of their “Planetary Energy Transmitter” would be much lighter than that of Tesla’s, decreased from over 60 to mere 2 tons – all because of the modern materials used for the framework and up-to-date conducting materials. Naturally, the installation would be equipped with advanced electronics.
“We’ve conducted the fundamental research studies, implemented the computational models and designed all the parts of the experiment. We will be able to perform energy transmission and measure the results. Will it be ‘global’ as Tesla suggested? Based on the research that we've already done – we believe it will be, and we going to prove it experimentally,” the scientists wrote.
The scientists are going to repeat Tesla’s experiment in the fall of 2014.

FACTS vs POSSIBILITIES
"I have a friend who shall not be named that regularly accuses me of being a pie-in-the-sky Pollyanna. She thinks talking only about the good and the beautiful is denying facts. Harping on about “current facts” just calls in more of the same. To waste our time on “appearances” is denying the power we have to change things for the better. We can continue to focus on “what is” or “what appears to be,” or we can focus on what we can better imagine. “What is” is simply what we’ve been focusing on. “What could be” is much more interesting.
