Geboren 1954 in Berlin. Studium von Germanistik, Romanistik und Philosophie. Staatsexamen. War nach dem Studium kurze Zeit an einem Berliner Gymnasium als Lehrerin tätig. Danach arbeitete sie als Regieassistentin, Pressereferentin und Rundfunkredakteurin. Schreibt seit 1987 Geschichten für Kinder. Darüberhinaus übersetzt sie aus dem Englischen, verfasst Hörspiele und Theaterstücke und arbeitet als Journalistin für den Rundfunk und verschiedene Printmedien.

Mit den Übersetzungen von "Winn-Dixie" und "Despereaux" von Kate DiCamillo wurde sie 2002 und 2005 zum Deutschen Jugendliteraturpreis nominiert. Beide Bücher wurden als Hörbuch des Jahres ausgezeichnet. ...more
