Catch me on Tristan Taormino podcast Sex Out Loud Friday, March 15
I'll be chatting with Sex Out Loud podcast host Tristan Taormino all about my SELF essay on no longer being kinky and reading a juicy (and kinky!) fetish erotica story from
Best Women's Erotica of the Year, Volume 4
tomorrow, March 15 from 8-9 pm EST. And don't miss me IN PERSON on Thursday, March 21, 7 pm at The Pleasure Chest New York City on the Upper East Side for a live reading from the book with Calliope Bloom, Tamsen Parker and Sofia Quintero. Plus our audience will include Jayne Renault, smut editor at and Dirty Lola of , among other cool people!
FYI, don't do what I did and visit the Sex Out Loud link above in a crowded professional space with the volume on your computer turned up unless you're okay with "Tune in every week for Sex Out Loud..." blasting into the room. Listen live or after the fact. And I highly recommend subscribing to Sex Out Loud on whatever your favorite podcast streaming platform is, because the interviews are always smart and fascinating.

Four erotica book sales coming up; make sure you're following me on BookBub
Four of my Cleis Press erotica anthologies will be on sale for $1.99 soon in ebook form for U.S. retailers such as Kindle and Nook (and probably for Google Play, iBooks and Kobo). If you want adult stories that are super hot and in your budget, you've come to the right place. These are flash sales that sometimes last a day or two, sometimes a week or more, so the day you should definitely be able to get them for the lowest price is the day listed below.
These sales aren't happening at the time of posting on March 11, but on the dates below. I'm posting now to give you a heads up since I may not be near my computer the days these go on sale (on Thursday, March 21 at 7 pm I'm doing a live reading at The Pleasure Chest in New York on the Upper East Side, 1150 2nd Avenue, between 60th and 61st, and hope you'll attend because I've got a lineup of amazing authors and FREE BOOK COVER COOKIES for the first 12 guests). Invite your friends with the Facebook event page if you're so inclined, but no RSVP is necessary and the reading is open to all genders (I always get asked if Best Women's Erotica of the Year readings are open to men, and the answer is yes, unless otherwise noted). And if you're an author whose publishers lists deals for you, always ask when they're happening. I didn't used to and sometimes never knew until they were over. Why not do your readers a favor and let them know and do yourself a favor and maximize this special opportunity?
I'm not always told in advance how long the sales will last and sometimes the endings vary at different retailers. I'm posting the dates and Kindle links below (FYI, they are affiliate links, which means I get a small percentage any time you use those links), but the easiest way to find out exactly when my book prices drop, which happens throughout the year, is to follow me on BookBub. You can also follow many of your favorite authors, as long as they have a BookBub account. I would Google their name in quotes plus BookBub or search for them on the site. I follow all my favorite authors and often buy their books when they're on sale.
A heads up that you'll also find out which books I occasionally recommend, usually in the erotica, erotic romance and romance genres, and about my one or two new releases per year. I've edited over 60 anthologies and don't expect people to read them all, but if you're a bargain hunter like I am, you'll want to get in on the BookBub action. Happy sexy bargain reading!
Upcoming BookBub sales of Rachel Kramer Bussel Cleis Press erotica anthologies:
March 21, 2019: Best Women's Erotica of the Year, Volume 1

March 22, 2019: The Big Book of Orgasms: 69 Sexy Stories

March 23, 2019:

April 1, 2019: Twice the Pleasure: Bisexual Women's Erotica

My February Forbes book publishing articles
If you're interested in books and/or the business of books and/or my writing, I hope you're follow me at Forbes online, where I'm writing seven articles per month about everything from book deals to book covers to author innovations and more. As you'll see, I've covered everything from drawable book covers to the enduring popularity of books by veterans to how to open an independent bookstore. To follow me, just make a free account at Forbes.com and then click the link above and click the "Follow" button and answer how often you want to receive emails about my new articles. I started in November and have learned so much about publishing as well as Wordpress, and which bookish subjects people want to read about and which they don't.
I write both more in-depth pieces about subjects like what authors can do when their publisher closes to breaking news, such as the Nora Roberts/Tomi Adeyemi book title story. I have a lot of great topics I'm covering in the next few months, especially more service-oriented pieces that I hope are helpful to aspiring authors, like the literary agent cookbook Q&A below. February was exciting because one of my articles got double the traffic of my previous high traffic piece, and continues to do well and may even hit 100,000 views soon. I get paid a flat fee based on how many articles I write per month, with the possibility of a pageview bonus, so of course I pay attention to my pageviews, but I also pay attention to who's linking to these articles. One of my upcoming pieces profiles a website that I found out about because they linked to me. So check it out, and if you're a publisher, editor or literary agent and have timely book publishing news or details about a growing trend in publishing, feel free to email me about it. I can't guarantee I'll cover it, but I'm always on the lookout for new topics my readers will appreciate.
Here are my Forbes online February 2019 articles in reverse chronological order:
"Katie Couric Memoir 'Unexpected' To Detail Her Struggles With Bulimia And Insecurity"
"Michelle Obama To Discuss Bestselling Memoir 'Becoming' On YouTube 'BookTube' Special In March 2019"
"How To Get Your Cookbook Published, According To A Literary Agent Who Specializes In Them"
"11-Year-Old Boy Lands Book Deal About Crocheting After His Creations Go Viral"
"Comic Book About Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Inspired By Her Quoting Alan Moore, Coming Out In May"
"What To Expect From 2020 Book 'White Feminism' By Former Jezebel Editor Koa Beck"
"Kim Kardashian West To Write Foreword To Memoir By Alice Marie Johnson, Convict Who West Helped Free"

My latest at Forbes on an 11-year-old with a book deal
My latest article at Forbes online is titled, "11-Year-Old Boy Lands Book Deal About Crocheting After His Creations Go Viral" and since posting it yesterday, it's now the most-read of all my articles there. I believe that's partly because the star of it posted it on his Facebook page, which has a lot of readers, and people are interested in children who become authors. Read it to learn more about the Wisconsin publisher who moved quickly to secure the book deal and what they're looking for from future kid authors (they are open to submissions).

Kim Kardashian West will write foreword for freed convict Alice Marie Johnson's memoir After Life
My latest for Forbes online mentions a different Kardashian than my Lamar Odom article. This new one is about criminal justice reform and the forthcoming memoir After Life by Alice Marie Johnson, which will have a foreword by Kim Kardashian West. Hope you'll check it out (whether you care about either of those topics, or just want to support my writing). You can also follow me at Forbes's site if you want to get emailed when I write new articles. I write seven per month. If you're a book publicist, editor or literary agent and have a potential story idea related to book publishing news or trends, feel free to email me at mail at rachelkramerbussel.com with the subject line "Forbes" and I'll consider it (though I have most of my story ideas set through April, I'm always on the lookout for timely subjects).

Such a tease...my new BDSM erotica anthology Erotic Teasers will be out on Tuesday!
I'm thrilled to share that on Tuesday, February 12, my new anthology Erotic Teasers will finally be available in print and ebook!
This was one that my publisher Cleis Press came to me and asked me to edit, and had a specific vision for the book, which I think/hope I did justice to. For those who like longer stories, this book has 'em! That's why there are 18 stories, because each is a bit longer than my typical anthology, so you can truly savor all the kinky, dirty details.
About the book:
In Erotic Teasers, award-winning editor Rachel Kramer Bussel has collected sexy short stories that will keep you on edge. From orgasm denial to remote control panties, these characters are made to wait--and they love every minute. From dominant/submissive relationships to futuristic settings, they have perfected the thrill of teasing, taunting, and exerting control over their partners, who may protest but really relish being made to hold off until they're given permission. Whether teasing as part of a BDSM scene, onstage at a theater, or via modern technology, these men and women ache with yearning.
These stories explore the thrill of the opposite of instant gratification, with orgasms all the more explosive because of itThis collection includes stories by Tiffany Reisz, Leandra Vane, Ella Dawson, and Elizabeth Coldwell, you'll relish every lusty, agonizing moment as these men and women wait for the most arousing reward for their patience.
Here's the table of contents:
Introduction: Such a Tease
Pink Panties Eliza David (read an excerpt at Kinkly)
Guessing Game T.C. Mill
Fix Me! Josie Jordan
A Real One Leandra Vane
Desdemona on the Fringe Kendel Davi
Ava Receives a Text Ella Dawson
Once Upon a Time in the Near Future Georgina Cott
Paying Attention LN Bey
The Hanging Gardens of Babylon Valerie Alexander
The Price of Patronage Eve Pendle
Daily Denial TammyJo Eckhart
The Joy of Socks Elizabeth Coldwell
When You’re Told Rebecca Croteau
Blow Val Prozorova
Bösendorfer Blues Cecilia Duvalle
Aphrodite’s Garden Rebecca Chase
