European Crime Fiction Star Award

Louise is on the jury for the Mord am Hellweg Krimispreis, the European Crime Fiction Star Award. Also on the jury are   Polina Daschkowa (Russia), Jürgen Kehrer (Germany), Leena Lehtolainen (Finland) and Domingo Villar (Spain). Each of the jury members will take responsibility for the presenting of one of the shortlisted nominees and will campaign for her or him during the festival. The multidisciplinary project, 'I throw my prayers into the sky (when fear and faith collide)' which featured work from Louise, writer Zoë Strachan, jeweller Laura Murray and visual artist David Sherry and which appeared as an exhibition at the Villa Concordia , Bamberg, Germany (18th November – 18th December 2008)  is now available from Villa Concordia Press in the form of a bilingual book, 'Bamberger Punkt 14: I Throw My Prayers into the Sky'

The Gorbals Vampire

In 1954 around a hundred children descended on Glasgow's Southern Necropolis armed with kitchen knives and home-made stakes. They told the police officer who was called to the scene that they were searching for a vampire with metal teeth who had killed two wee boys.
