The Texan's Future Bride, March 2013

Here is my latest release from Harlequin Special Edition.  THE TEXAN'S FUTURE BRIDE is the 2nd story in a three-book miniseries called BYRDS OF A FEATHER that I wrote with my dear friends and critique partners, Judy Duarte and Crystal Green.  Look for Judy's book in Feb. to kick off the series.  Mine will be released in March and Crystal's will soon follow.  We're all very exited about this series.  Within the backdrop of the Texas Hills, you'll uncover magic, love, a legendary feather bed and lots of family secrets!

THE TEXAN'S FUTURE BRIDE features a mysteriously sexy man and the lovely lady determined to help him recover from his amnesia.

Bare Writer with Bare Pictures

If you're busy and don't have time to read this right now, go ahead and scroll down to the nudie pics at the bottom! Then come back and read what I've written if you're interested. FYI, this is a detailed post about my experience at a clothes- optional resort.

Note: I might post more pictures later (some with our faces in them, perhaps?)

I write romance novels so there is lots of bareness in my books. Bare is word I have come to know well-- on paper, anyhow. But now I know it in person, too. I mean really know it. On Oct. 6, 2012, I officially became the BareWriter!

My dearest friend and lover (I shall refer to him as the BareMuse here) is an artist and art model. Some of you also know him as the Online Warrior. No matter what his name, he is comfortable being bare and has been teaching me to accept myself that way, too. He gave me the BareWriter nickname a while ago.

But I truly earned it on Oct. 6th because he took me to a clothes-optional resort/ranch and I went bare. Yep. The full monty. In front of other people. Never in my younger life would I have thought this possible. In fact, when I was in college, I was asked to a model nude for a theatre arts class and I declined. I have never been comfortable with my naked self. Seriously, how many of us are? My biggest discomfort is my butt. Too soft. Too squishy. Squats help, but not enough. I used to cringe over my breasts, too. But I cheated and got implants a long time ago. Not to make them bigger but to even them out and lift them up (that is a blog in itself.) Luckily, I’m happy with my perky boobs now.

Once the date was set for our resort/ranch outing, I started planning my wardrobe. Being the fashionista that I am, I chose a leopard-print sarong, an Audrey Hepburn-type hat, sunglasses, and gold sandals. I actually have two leopard-print sarongs, a long and short one, and I packed both. I even packed towels in the same brown color scheme. Towels are a nude staple. You must sit on one at all times. Bare etiquette.

The night before the event, I got a fierce stomach ache. I thought I was calm and ready, but my stomach said otherwise. But later that night, it subsided. I was just careful about what I ate.

On the day of the event, I was surprisingly relaxed. I had my sarongs, after all, and intended to keep my lower half covered, if need be. We arrived and checked in at the gate and entered the office. A naked woman greeted us! I wasn’t expecting that. I didn’t think the clothes-optional stuff happened until after check in. She was a mature lady, curvy, fleshy, and real. I filled out a newcomers form. The BareMuse didn’t have to do that. He’d been there before. He and his friends call it the “Art Model’s Resort” since it’s a place for their kind to roam free.

We parked by the pool and he showed me around while we were still dressed. I’d already seen website pictures so I knew it was a somewhat rustic location, surrounded by hills and dotted with colorful little cabins. Since we were day guests (not spending the night), we stripped down outside the car. That didn’t seem odd. That’s what you often do at the beach. Felt very SoCal. I wrapped my sarong around my lower half. I went topless right off the bat. Yea for those implants.

The weather was perfect, in the low to mid eighties. There was a scatter of nudies around the pool. Men and women in all shapes and sizes. I can’t stress this enough. ALL shapes and sizes. Everyone was quite normal, too, friendly but not in your face. I had this weird perception that nudies flocked around other nudies, wanting to know all about you. But it was like any other resort-type pool, only people were bare instead of in bathing suits.

We settled into some lounge chairs, and I removed my sarong (yep fully bare!). We put sunscreen on each other’s hard-to-reach places. We didn’t make a show of it. It’s all very proper. But later, he leaned over and whispered to me how much he enjoyed me putting the lotion on him. That was the first time my heart pounded. He is cleverly romantic.

I brought a note pad and pen and jotted things down throughout the day. I’m a writer, after all. At lunchtime, I put on my sarong (lower half) and we entered the restaurant, a retro-style eatery with wooden booths and maroon accents. We ordered our food at the counter. The waitress and cook, a lovely blonde who is also one of the owners, made quite a statement. She was nude with an apron tied around her lower half. She was just way too cute. If pictures were allowed, I would have gobbled her up with my camera.

The blonde’s husband came in, a casual California guy, and helped her make the food. I didn’t notice if he was nude. Shirtless for sure. But his lower half? I dunno. I didn’t even look. I was getting used to the bareness.

Back to the pool, where more nudies gathered. I played on Facebook and the BareMuse napped in the sun. A few hours later, we went for a hike in the hills. I changed into a pair of sturdy shoes and grabbed my longer sarong, tying it all the way up.

Once we were in a secluded spot, I removed my sarong. A bare hike. A bare hug, too. My man grabbed me and pulled me close. Cleverly romantic, indeed. My heart thudded like crazy. It was one of the most thrilling moments of my life.

Artists that we are, we snuck in some pictures. Just of ourselves and the terrain. We would never take pics of other people. But there was no one around anyway. We were wonderfully alone. He even convinced me to let him take some shots of my backside. He likes my butt. Crazy man.

We spent about an hour in the hills and upon our return, he went into the sauna, and I read by the pool. Later, we enjoyed the Jacuzzi. Our evening ended with a scrumptious dinner. This time the cooks (different cooks from before) were clothed. They were young adults or teenagers perhaps (kids are welcome there) who’d probably been raised in the environment and had the most relaxed air about them.

Overall, an amazing day. Bare. Naked. Nekkid. Unclothed. Unencumbered. I have the pictures to prove it and I’m just brave enough to post some of them here. Feel free to take a peek.

First up, my sarong and a bit of me. Next up, the BareMuse. Yes, these pics have been cropped. This is the most daring shot that Blogger will allow. My stomach and his hands. Our shadow. We look clothed, but I swear we are are bare.

Vampires and Genies!

The novellas in my Blood Genies series are available for .99 cents. The first story, THE VAMPIRE PENDANT, was an Amazon “vampire” bestseller, and the second one, THE VAMPIRE BRACELET, made the “erotica” list. The third story has yet to be written, but it will be in the works at a later date.

Here are the covers, blurbs, and links of THE VAMPIRE PENDANT and THE VAMPIRE BRACELET. Hope you enjoy!

The Vampire Pendant is the first story in the Blood Genies series, erotic romance novellas featuring vampire hybrids (genies/vampires) living inside antique jewelry and taking blood in exchange for granting wishes.

As a teenager, Tessa Clarins was damaged by a fire, and now the scarred twenty-five-year-old virgin has been made beautiful by a wish. But Tessa’s wish is only temporary, and so is her affair with Anthony Dumont, the wildly romantic “gen-vamp” feasting on her veins and stealing her innocence. Night after night Tessa puts her heart on the line. But so does Anthony, leaving sex, love, and secrets in his blood-hungry wake.

The Vampire Bracelet is the second story in the Blood Genies series, erotic romance novellas featuring vampire hybrids (genies/vampires) living inside antique jewelry and granting wishes for the exchange of blood.

Marie North has known about gen-vamps since she was child, but she never expected to yearn for a wish. Nor did she expect that Nicholas Dumont, the hot-as-hell hybrid granting her wish, would prey on her emotions or charm her into playing bondage games. The dangerously sexy blood-drinker is determined to seduce Marie into falling in love with him because her love can make him mortal. But is love truly the answer? Or is it the one thing that could destroy them both?

How many books are on your e-reader?

I started using a Kindle in March 2012, and as of today I have 67 books on it from various genres. How many books are on yours? I love using an e-reader because I think it's easier on the eyes and the hands (my hands sometimes get sore holding a book open because I'm getting a touch of arthritis). It also saves precious space. I was getting overrun with books at my house. Before the Kindle, all of the books I bought went into boxes that I kept in a shed. Now all of my new purchases are being digitally stored. Seriously, what took me so long to start using an e-reader???

Before Fifty Shades

Before Fifty Shades of Grey hit the scene, I wrote a BDSM book with a billionaire hero. SUBMISSION was released in 2009 under the name Cherie Feather and had a supernatural twist.

Here's the blurb:

Ethan Tierney is infamous in the art world for his shocking paintings--and his reputation for seduction. He's found a perfect subject in Kiki Dion, an art historian with kinky fantasies of her own. Now, behind the closed doors of his historic estate, they're making those fantasies come true--and bringing something else to life as well...

A century ago, the house's late occupants recorded the details of their consuming affair in explicit letters that have become Kiki and Ethan's erotic obsession. But the ghosts of the past are not at rest. They've been aroused to bring closure to a sensual mystery of the past, to take possession of the warm and willing bodies of Kiki and Ethan, and to teach them the true meaning of undying ecstasy Here is a link with purchase info

I Made the Bestselling Erotica List

Thank you to everyone who participated in the free book (kindle) promo on Facebook and Twitter that I hosted. I am grateful to everyone who downloaded the book. Special thanks to the readers who shared my posts and re-tweeted for me. The promo was a success. THE VAMPIRE BRACELET reached # 7 on the Erotica (free) Bestseller List and THE VAMPIRE PENDANT (which many of you bought during the promo) made the top 100 Vampire (paid) Bestseller List.

The idea of authors giving away books is to give readers a sample of their work for future book sales and interest. Also, how cool is it to get free books? Especially during these though economic times.

Also, I want to thank the readers who purchased both books when they first came out. You've been wonderfully supportive, too.
