First Post
I know how original - first post. Figured, it was a good way to get over the writers block thing. Just got the best news, the paperback version is now on Amazon. It's a 6x9 version.
Well I finally got (book: A Backed Up John] on Amazon, and Smashwords. It's available on Createspace https://www.createspace.com/5192285.
The original manuscript of John was stolen many years ago, by one of my ex-friends. The finished edited and ready for print version loss hit me pretty hard, and I never really wanted to revisit it again. But as events happen, a coworker of mine is a writer also. She started poking at me, and the need to get John back into the computer, and eventually up so anyone could read it was festered. I worked from a really old copy of the book that my mother actually had in storage. With that copy, I was able to recreate the book. I originally wanted to OCR the thing, but the age of the paper, old style font, and other issues required me to retype it back in page by page. And I hate to say it, this was a good thing.
So for a fun read, I hope you laugh at least once in the book. Look into purchasing my little story, it's the price of a cup of coffee at Starbucks.

Hera laughed, and looked at the other gods, and goddesses. “It looks like our little game has come to an end. He has uncovered us.”
A soft moan filled the chamber as the gods, and goddesses showed their displeasure in the development.
“We can’t help keep the information from him any longer. He has to be told.” Hera stood and sat herself next to John.
John looked up at Hera. “What do you mean I have to be told? What do I have to be told?”
“Don’t worry, it’s nothing big. The gods and goddesses of Olympus have been spying on you since the day you were born in Springfield, Illinois. We wanted to know exactly when you developed you amazing talents, and maybe how to reproduce them. Everyone in the Universe wants the secret, but you are the only one who knows how you got the abilities.” Hera extended her hand toward John’s and offered him her throne.
John seated himself. “What secret? I don’t have a secret. I am me.”
“You are wrong on that bit of information.” Athena stood. “I have been watching your education throughout these many years, and I have never seen you exhibit your special talents. You gained them recently, and you are the only one who knows how you got them.” Athena seated herself in a proper style.
Hera took a seat on her crystal steps at the foot of her throne. “John, we know a great deal about you, but we know nothing about how you gained your abilities. We can only assume it happened when you blew up your apartment with that experiment of yours.” Hera saw great displeasure begin to fill John’s face ‘No one was injured in the explosion; we assumed you saved them somehow. You didn’t have the powers when you went to the library. Athena was there and she said you were kind of normal. I know it had to happen between the library, and my house, because that’s where you disappeared.”
