…in which Kel tries not to be a bitch

I have a humble request for my fellow indie writers. I want to not be a bitch about it. I'm not sure it's possible, so I'm just going to say it.

When we're posting about our books, or our writing career, on a public forum, could we try to act as though there are people reading our words? People who buy books and tell their friends about them? The Wendy House in progress

The updated release date for The Wendy House is April 2011. I know that's six months later than originally scheduled, but I want to make sure the book is absolutely the best it can be. I promise it will be worth the wait. In the meantime, as a peace offering, here is chapter one.

Chapter 1

MARCH 10, 2007 3:58 A.M.

Rick rubbed his eyes wearily and reached for the Marlboro reds, soft pack, on the kitchen table beside him. He ran his thumb along the cellophane wrapper. He liked to feel them in...

Guest blogger Stacey Cochran

I'm very excited to have Stacey Cochran as a guest blogger today. He is not only a very excellent and entertaining author, but has proven himself a true friend and helper to the indie writing community with his website and blog posts, as well as his writer-centric Ustream show, Book Chatter. I heartily encourage both readers and writers alike to comment and/or ask questions freely in the comments section below. - RJK

New interview about "The Wendy House"

Kristen Tsetsi asks me questions about my work-in-progress, "The Wendy House." I answer them. Check it out!

It went much better than our fictional interview, which you can watch right here:

"Waiting For Spring" sales boost

A funny thing happened yesterday afternoon…

May 28, 2010 – 2:22 PM

I had just finished reading a rather scathing review of Waiting For Spring (How could this person not care about Rachel??? Seriously, hate on Tess all you want. Brian's predictable? Okay, whatever. But not caring about Rachel? Come on!) and checking my Kindle sales page to see if the negative review had made an impact (it hadn't) when I decided to head over to Facebook to soothe my wounded soul (okay, maybe it was my ego that...
