Almost every day my mind has a minor creative birthing. An idea will blossom, and then my mind will twist and darken it. The mutated ideas vary in potency, from little odds and ends details I can use to spice up characters or scenes, to delicious juice to use as the foundation of a chapter, or, on the rarest occasions, it might become the seed of a potential novel. Each and every little birth, like a newborn, wails for attention to be used and used immediately. Some get their wish. Others fade away, perhaps to be re-conjured in the future.

I’ve never been a big fan of money for moneys sake. I’d rather be debt free than rich. I rarely dream of being rich, but being comfortable and free. Free to write and create. But you can’t be free when you’re shackled by debt the way I’ve become since 2006 when my life was wonderfully problematic, but utterly debt-free with a credit score 100 points higher than it is now.

So, like I’ve done before, I’ll serve my time in debt prison until I earn my parole, one dollar at a time.

Like writer’s block, I don’t really understand the act of suicide. I also don’t feel bad for anyone who feels death is their final answer. I do believe a person has the right to do what they want with their life, including ending it. Just don’t ask me to grieve for them.

Do you really have to be a Poison Ivy fan to appreciate this? When I see insanely gifted artwork like this, I’m torn between applying my writing to graphic novels & comics or to screenplays & novels. The visual aspect has such a powerful pull.

For those who have read my horror novel, The Butcher Bride, the book has been optioned, and there’s a very real chance of it becoming a low budget shocker. I recently saw this picture of Meg Foster & immediately saw the present day Margaret Downing, the mother of the title character. Love those eyes.
