The Chinese spacecraft Shenzhou-12 arrived on Earth today with three astronauts on board, from a space station for which the Asian country is preparing to be operational next year.

Pictures broadcast live on state television CGTN show the capsule descending “vertically” today around 1:34 p.m. local time (5:34 a.m. GMT).

Spain will ask Euro-Mediterranean countries for unity ahead of the migration pact

Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez will ask this Friday in Athens to unite Euro-Mediterranean leaders to face negotiations on a European Union pact on migration and asylum.

Sánchez will travel to the Greek capital to attend a Euro-Mediterranean summit that will increase its membership from seven to nine for the first time.

China is officially seeking accession to the Comprehensive Trans-Pacific Agreement

China announced today that it has officially applied to join the Progressive and Comprehensive Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement (CPTPP).

In a statement posted on its website today, China’s Ministry of Commerce explained in detail that Sector Minister Wang Wentao sent a letter with a formal request to his New Zealand counterpart Damien O’Connor this Thursday, as Wellington is the depositary of this trade agreement.

The Peruvian Congress passes a law on the cremation of the bodies of the founders of Shining Path

A plenary session of the Peruvian Congress on Thursday approved a bill proposing legislative changes to allow the cremation of the remains of the founder of the Shining Path terrorist group, Abimael Guzman, who died last Saturday in prison.

The project was presented by Congresswoman Gladys Echaíz, chair of the Judiciary Committee, and received 70 votes in favor, 32 against and 14 abstentions from the plenary session of the Legislative Assembly.

The Philippines will not allow ICC investigators to enter the country

The Philippines announced Thursday that it will not cooperate with the International Criminal Court (ICC) in the investigation into the war on drugs against President Rodrigo Duterte, and will veto the entry of members of this body into its territory “because they have no jurisdiction.”

“The government will not allow any ICC member to collect data or evidence here in the Philippines, they will be barred from entering,” Duterte’s legal adviser Salvador Panelo told DZBB radio.
