Jane Austen: Wild and Wanton?
A writer friend of mine, Michelle Pillow just announced a new project she's been contracted to write. And it is intriguing! Check out Pride and Prejudice, The Wild and Wanton Edition, now available for preorder on Amazon. I find it very interesting to see there are two authors listed, Pillow and Austen. I'm getting a sense that some parts of the book will be left unchanged while others will be expanded. Hmmm… I will be loading it on my Nook when it releases.
I also see a Wild and Wanton...

Release Date: Darkest Fire
Great news! I have an official release date for Darkest Fire, the first book in my new Black Gryffon series. It will be releasing in April, 2011. That seems like such a long way off, but I know it'll come quickly. I also have finally caught my first glimpse of the cover. The copy of the image I have isn't very clear (the actual cover won't look so pixelated), but the overall layout looks fabulous. I still haven't seen the back cover copy. Can't wait to read it. Kensington has some...

Lust's Temptation Cover
One thing I appreciate, as both a reader and writer, is when a publisher's art department creates the covers of books in series with some kind of cohesive theme (color/font/subject) in mind. And so, I was pleased when I saw the cover for Lust's Temptation for the first time.
However, in this case, looking at the cover, I also had a deja vu moment. I wonder, is it me?
Wrath's Embrace
And now, Lust's Temptation
Clearly, the photographs used in each are different. And both are scorching. But the...

My Top 10 Erotic Romance Keepers
For kicks, I thought I'd list the top ten erotic romance books on my keeper shelf. They are in no particular order, because I couldn't/can't rank them. They're all great! And, for the most part, they're all older titles–the first books in series.
By the way, I could easily pick multiple titles from each of these authors, but I'm intentionally choosing only one. So if any of these authors are new to you, you'll want to check out their entire backlists. And so, without further ado…
My Top Ten...

Oprah's Summer Reading List…what it's missing.
I was checking out Oprah's recommendations for summer reading today and thought she had missed the mark. Totally. In the summer, I want hot, sexy, trashy books. (And yes, in the winter, too *g*)
My summer reading list for all the girls who want to read naughty smut as they lounge by the pool:
Falcon's Captive (Vonna Harper)
Into the Crossfire (Lisa Marie Rice)

Unique Book Promotion Ideas
While reading one of my fave blogs, I stumbled upon a link to This Article on www.nypost.com. An author named Jennifer Belle hired 40 actresses to sit in public places (within NYC) and laugh out loud while reading her book. It's a very creative idea, and in at least one respect brilliant because it's getting her some additional press.
One of the biggest challenges an author faces is getting word of her book out to the public. According to UNESCO, there were between 150,000 and 200,000 n...
