What says January more than a wintry mint julep? (Google ‘winter julep’; it’s a thing.) Grab your minty fresh drink, wrap yourself in a blanket, and let’s chat 2023!
Upcoming in 2023
Adult Reads
Vella:
The Hauntings of DoG Street–Chowning’s Tavern is drawing to a close! There are two chapters left and one more poll to vote in when the next episode is released. Read here with your free 200 tokens Amazon is still giving away; first three chapters are always free.
Is there a future with Melody? Tentative plans for three more seasonal Vellas with her, Anya, Michael and Oliver over the next few years, as well as turning Chowning’s Tavern into a published novella. Keep an eye out!
Paperback:
When Violet Got Bored: It’s time to look at the next book in the series to see what I’ve already written for Violet, Grayson and Nathan. From there, I’ll see what it will take to have Book Two of The Light Thrower series, tentatively titled When Violet Ran Away, published at the end of 2023. For now, you can purchase the first book here.
Blogs:
Swellness Vibes Blog: I plan on coinciding posts with the podcast episodes a fellow bodyworker and I are working on, or picking up another series/topic to explore and talk about. Perhaps following The Bhagavad Gita or some other yogic text! Stay tuned.
Flight of the Seedling: No major plans for this blog other than to continue randomly posting about parenting and/or the kid.
Kiddo Reads
Phenix & Fox: 2023 should bring the colored, hard back edition of Shooting Stars and maybe the start of another children’s book featuring our friends????
Children’s Chapter Book Idea: My son wants me to write him a chapter book. We will see what we can conjure up together!
Children’s Epic Adventure Book Idea: Ideas are already swirling for this adventure! This will probably take years to evolve, but all it takes is a seed to be planted… and the seed is planted.
2022, the Year that Was
WOW! What a year for writing, publishing, learning! Not only did I spend half the year learning how to query, I finally published my first full-length novel. Yay! I also finally knocked out my children’s book, which was created before the novel even existed.. I’m not gonna lie, it feels good to have those out in the world.
What about that Vella story? That totally happened on a whim, pretty much the second the kid jumped into public school. I thought about the old adage “write what you know”, and while I don’t know too much about ghosts or Colonial Williamsburg, I certainly have an insider’s view to both. Visiting CW to prepare for writing has been so much fun, and it gave my husband and I something to bond over. He’s not much of a reader, definitely not a writer, but he has lots of ideas!
Happy New Year, and thanks for reading! Without you my words would just be symbols on a computer screen. Hope you all are swell, happy, joyful, and laughing. allison keli

Coloring Book!
It took far longer than I wanted it to take, but the first rendition of the Phenix & Fox: Shooting Stars coloring book is here!
It’s dedicated to my client who came up with the idea.
You can find it here on Amazon.
And, yup. That’s my kid’s hand.

Ho Ho Ho!
December 6, 2022
Dear December
We have finally reached you, dear December, and the end of this year, 2022. With your embrace, we welcome these upcoming winter months in the northern hemisphere. With our coats, fires and scarves, that is.
Hello.
November Recap
Swellness Vibes | Only the one post, celebrating the release of my novel. I also somehow erased the post on Whole Brain Living, but a friend found it, so I’m going to republish it this December. And I hope to publish Part II next month!
There were no other blog posts as my main focus was releasing When Violet Got Bored. You can visit the book’s home on this website here, read other blog posts relating to it here, or purchase the novel here, via ebook or paperback. It’s also free for Kindle Unlimited readers.
December Comings & Goings
Phenix & Fox: Shooting Stars THE COLORING BOOK (!!!) will be released this month for last minute shopping. It came about because one of my clients suggested I should do it! Violet’s final editing (by me) took longer than anticipated, so the original publish date for the coloring book came and went. Here’s hoping it’s out by next week!
The Hauntings of DoG Street: Chowning’s Tavern on Vella is still being updated most Fridays. I will announce beforehand if an episode will not be coming out. Vote in polls and help write the story! First three chapters always free, and Kindle is still giving away tokens to allow you to read my story as well as others.
That’s it for my word vomit updates!
HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO ALL, regardless of if or what you celebrate. 2022 draws to a close, and with it, a collective sigh of all that has passed us by, and an inhalation of joy and hope for what may follow in 2023.
NAMASTE, friends, and may December bring you much peace and love.

Well, I Can Do That.
And I did.
Paperback edition of When Violet Got Bored is available here. (It was published at 3:33 EST on 11/23/2022. Just so you know.)
Kindle edition is available here. Free in Kindle Unlimited.
Either before or after my mind broke back in 2018, I started reading a ton of freebie e-novels on my Nook (which yes, of course this means I purchased a bunch of novels, too). This habit kept me up into the wee hours of the morning, rendering me even more tired as I was already bumbling through the day with my then 3 to 4 year old.
Some of the books were awesome. Some were a lot of fun. Some were terrible. I realized that I could probably write a book that was slightly better than the most terrible book I had read.
So, I’m assuming this novel is, at the very least, slightly better than that worst book. Yes, to the horror of any published writer out there, I did most of the editing on my own. I created (and failed at) making my own cover (but went with it anyway). All these no-nos, I did.
I’m okay with that.
But now that this first book is published, I have to decide, should I finish the second book? Should I finish the third? (I know how it ends.) If you’ve read the book, I know you think it’s a love story, but it’s more of a love anthem. To the child. Maybe the story *does* need to continue. Maybe I should have some alpha and beta readers. Maybe I should DO these next novels, ’cause I didn’t really plan to do THIS novel.
You know I’ll never stop word vomiting, be it blog, book, or diary entry! Oh, Oxford comma. What to do with you?
You can read more blog posts regarding Violet’s Boredom under #whenvioletgotbored, or here. Or you could read the actual book by visiting me on Amazon.
PS. Please forgive me, Gods, to whom I have offended.
