Elodie Parks has a new release just in time for Christmas!

5-STARS on Amazon!
‘Forever Blue,’ my December 20 release with Hot Ink Press, was inspired by the woodland near where I live. There’s a mysterious feel about the woods in autumn. It often feels as if something is watching. From the window of the room where I write, I can see across to nearby woods. I hear owls hoot at night. At dusk and dawn, there are strange mists that rise from the trees. It’s very lovely.

Blurb-

Claudie loves living in the countryside and close to the forests. She’s a film maker and works for the wildlife trust. One night she steps onto her patio and sees a man sheltering there. She confronts him and he runs away. Jasper has watched Claudie for a year. He fell in love with her, but he has a secret, one that might mean he can never approach her. Will love and fate find a way? What secret must Jasper hide?
What’s the strange blue dust that turns up on Claudie’s patio?

Five things I wanted for the story, ‘Forever Blue’ (from the author)
1. A heroin who was capable, brave, ready for love, and not afraid to go for it.
2. A hero who was hot, sexy, but not afraid to admit his love and need for his woman.
3. A story that had an element of mystery and strangeness to fit the season.
4. A story that took place in the country where silence and nature can conjure up the ethereal.
5. A love story that sizzled with sex, but also touches your heart with happiness.

Excerpt -

She looked up into his gorgeous face.

He was propped on one elbow, and smiled at her again. He traced his fingers down her stomach to rest tantalizingly just above where she wanted them to be.

She lifted her hips to him, hoping his hand would slip down and he’d feel how wet she was, how much she needed him.

He closed his eyes as he leaned toward her face and kissed her tenderly. His fingers slid along her wet pussy and then he pushed them into her.

His thumb was against her clit, pressing deliciously. Claudie purred against his lips as they kissed. She rocked against the palm of his hand to have his fingers deeper inside her pussy. She held his shoulder muscles and moaned into his mouth. Her orgasm was building rapidly and she thrust her hips to his pumping.

Against her mouth, he whispered, “Come for me. I’m crazy about you. You feel so good.”

The words filtered through her lust numbed mind as she dug her fingernails into his back when she came, gasping at the intensity of the orgasm.

Jasper removed his fingers gently and lay between her legs.

Claudie ran her fingertips up and down the sides of his body. “Thrust into me.” Her voice made throaty from his nearness, his cock between her thighs, and the way her clit still pulsed.

“Oh, I will.” Jasper whispered into her ear.

A shiver of pleasure ran down to her breasts as he licked her ear. He trailed his tongue down her neck to suck as he slowly pushed his hard thick cock into her pussy. The feel of him, inch after inch, slowly filling her until he gave a final hard thrust was delicious. She held him tight and reached to suck at his neck the way he sucked at hers.

They both softly moaned as they sucked and in unison brought their mouths together to kiss each other slowly, tenderly and then hungrily.

Jasper thrust his cock in and out of her fast and hard. Then he slowed down and raising himself on his knees, he lifted her hips and looked into her eyes.

Claudie’s eyes were only half-open. They were heavy with lust. She felt drugged with sex, but she saw his eyes, and thought they were full of tenderness.

His thrusts were slow as he held her hips and his cock grazed her swollen clit. His hands possessed her hips and he fucked her until she came again moaning his name. Jasper held her under her bottom and pulled her hard onto his cock.

Claudie heard him groan, and then he pounded his cock into her as he came. She opened her eyes to see him come. His eyes were closed and his head thrown back a little. He looked erotic, beautiful, so sexy, and she sighed with pleasure. He’s so gorgeous. I think I’m falling in love with him, or falling in sex with him. I might love him soon. Her thoughts made her smile.

Jasper opened his eyes and gazed at her. He still held her under the bottom. His cock pulsed in her pussy. He smiled. “I’m falling in love with you.” His voice was soft and low.

Dirty Little Secret

Blurb:
Cailin Gray transferred to the new Atlanta branch of her company to work for the senior vice president, Alex Brannigan. But before her job begins, she allows the anonymity of the big city to lure her into a night of dancing—and the arms of a mystery lover hotter than anything this country girl could imagine. When she wakes alone, his absence hurts more than she thought it would, but not nearly as much as walking into the office Monday morning and discovering her lover is her new, married boss.

Alex has one goal: help his best friend, Sara Beth, keep her inheritance. Their plan included a marriage of convenience—check—taking over the vice president’s position—check—and keeping the platonic state of their relationship secret until their position of power is solidified. That last takes time, but the resulting solitude weighs heavily. Until Cailin. He told himself a single night would have to be enough, but fate had other plans. Now he must choose between keeping his dirty little secret and fulfilling his promise to Sara Beth, or finding the strength to free them all from the secrets that bind them.

Paranormal Blog Hop

I only have one paranormal out, The Mating Ritual, but I am working on another one. Scent of a Wolf's Mate will come out sometime next year. So far the comments I've received for The Mating Ritual have been good, and one in particular stands out. More than one reader has said they liked my take on the Bigfoot hero. For those of you who are used to my contemporary erotic romances I am not switching genres. I'm simply broadening my writing career. Below is a fragment of The Mating Ritual, an erotic paranormal. In order to keep it PG13 I had to remove a couple sentences that described a certain part of his body. I hope you enjoy it. Leave a comment and your email addy and one lucky winner will receive a coupon for a free copy!

Toni's first impression of meeting Cormac...

Toni didn’t realize how close she was to the edge until she felt the heel of her foot begin to slip. She screamed when the reality that she was falling rushed over her. Once again a muscular arm came out of nowhere and encircled her waist. Then, with surprising ease, she was hauled against a huge male body.

She glanced down, thanking God his arm wasn’t as hairy as she’d been expecting, but still screamed and tried to wiggle free. He was much too strong for her. He kept her tight against him, grunting when she dug her nails into his flesh. He pulled her away from the cave entrance and tossed her against the cave wall. She hit it forcefully, crying out, and clutched the fur as it started to slip down.

Toni swung around and stared at the man in shock. One thing she knew for certain, he wasn’t Bigfoot, but he was big, possibly seven feet tall. And he was definitely human, his features were rugged and strong and not totally unpleasant. He had long brownish hair that appeared streaked with blond, his brown eyes conveyed intelligence and something else that she couldn’t quite put her finger on. His naked body revealed that he was well muscled, from his thick neck, defined biceps, pectorals, and sculptured abs. His thighs were as solid as small tree trunks. The light dusting of hair that covered his body was like any other man, allowing Toni to see his scars and other imperfections. As he stood there staring at her he made her feel something wild and primitive. He was magnificent.

Excerpt-
Just as she stepped off the bottom step, she heard a noise at the front door. She hesitated, unsure what to do. Who could be visiting at this hour? Just when she expected to hear a knock, she heard something else instead. A key was being inserted into the lock, and right before her startled eyes, she watched the knob turn and the door open. Her gaze landed on a pair of army boots and slowly traveled upward, taking in the muscular body in military fatigues. Her mouth dropped open in shock.

Ohmygod! Ryan had come home!

He appeared just as startled as she was. Halting in the threshold as their eyes meet, his rugged expression carved in granite. Only his eyes, those piercing blue orbs, showed any sign of life, if you could call it that. Shannon had a feeling that Ryan Hayes didn't reveal any emotions that weren't hardened by years of combat. For a moment, she thought he wasn't going to speak and half expected him to back out and leave.

"Do you mind if I come in?" His deep voice was just as Shannon remembered. "It's damn cold out here."
For the first time she realized she was blocking his way. Swallowing, she stepped back enough for him to enter and close the door behind him. He dropped a large army bag on the floor by his feet, and shook off the snow onto the floor mat. All the while keeping his eyes trained on Shannon, as though she were the enemy. She took a nervous step further into the foyer, directly into the soft glow of the lamp that had been left on in the living room.

Ryan looked just like he did the last time she saw him. Big and tall, cloaked in that attitude of quiet strength he seemed to possess. His black hair cut in military fashion and suited his strong, square boned face. Though sporting a tiny scar over his left eyebrow and another, bigger one halfway down his left cheek he was still a handsome man. He eluded danger in practically every move he made, every glance. His eyes dropped, running over Shannon rapidly, making her painfully aware of her disheveled state.

She refused to reach up and smooth her hair back, knowing that it would do no good. The tiniest quirk on his full, sensuous mouth revealed he found her condition amusing. Quickly, his lips thinned almost menacingly when his gaze narrowed on her breasts. It was then that Shannon reached up and pulled her ruined blouse together where the buttons had come off. She finally found her voice.

"Welcome home, Ryan."

"Where is everyone?" His tone seemed hard, gruff, more commanding than inquiring. He slipped off his jacket and hung it on a peg on the back of the door, and then bent to slip off his boots.

"Mom went to bed with a headache. Sheila must be putting the kids to bed. The rest won't get here until tomorrow night." Shannon couldn't help but notice the quick glance he shot her way when she called his mother mom. She watched quietly as he set his boots against the wall and stood, towering over her again.

"It's just as well. I'm tired as hell and want to turn in early myself. But first, I want to find something to eat. I'm starved." Closing the distance between them, Ryan halted when he reached Shannon. "Is that okay?"

Shannon felt a telltale heat rush up to her cheeks when she realized she was watching Ryan's mouth form the words. What the heck was wrong with her? Jet lag, that's what. She gave her head a little shake. She must be more tired than she thought. As his words became clear, it dawned on her that she was once again blocking his way.

"Oh! I'm, ah sorry." Instead of moving to let him pass, she turned and began to walk in the direction of the kitchen. "I'll be glad to fix you something to eat."

"Thanks, but that won't be necessary." He was right on her heels.

"That's okay." Shannon pushed the kitchen door open and flipped on the light switch on the wall next to it. "Sheila put a plate for me in the oven and if I know her, she left enough for two. I don't mind sharing." Not waiting for Ryan to acknowledge her, Shannon took the potholders from the counter by the stove, opened the oven door and retrieved the plate. "Just as I thought."

She turned and showed him the full plate of corn beef hash. But the expression on Ryan's face almost made her drop it. Sweat had broken out on his forehead and he'd turned pale, his lips were thin as a muscle twitched in his jaw that had hardened in an effort to hold back that he was in obvious pain. Intense pain. He was clutching the island counter in the middle of the kitchen as if it alone was holding him upright. "Ryan!" Shannon set the plate down and rushed to his side. "What is it? What's wrong?"

He held a hand up in a silent warning for her to back off. She stopped immediately and waited for another sign from him, afraid he was having some kind of attack. After a few more seconds, he sucked in several deep breaths and released them slowly. It was clear by his expression that he hated showing her even that one small weakness. It was very clear that he didn't intend talking about it. Shannon knew the moment the pain left his body when his expression relaxed.

"You said something about sharing your dinner?" He pulled out one of the bar stools from around the island and sank down onto it. Shannon hesitated for a moment, fighting the urge to question him. Something was terribly wrong, she just knew it, but she didn't know Ryan well enough to feel she had the right to ask him anything personal. The look in his cold eyes warned her she'd be shot down before she managed to speak the first word. Forcing a smile she was far from feeling, she turned to get a second plate.

"I'll thank you not to mention what just occurred to my family," Ryan surprised her by saying while her back was turned to him.

"If that's what you want," Shannon responded, opening a cupboard door. She glanced with surprise at where the plates were usually stacked. Glasses had replaced them. Marsha had obviously done some rearranging since the last time Shannon had been there. She opened up several other doors before finding the plates, stacked on the second shelf. Standing on tip toe she strained to reach them.

"Here, let me help you."

"Oh!" Feeling Ryan brush up against her, Shannon spun around before she could think. Suddenly, it wasn't her backside feeling his hardened muscles. Since he was in the process of reaching over her head for a plate, they were now flush against each other. Her breasts flattened against his hard chest, the lower halves of their bodies were shockingly aligned, and their thighs were touching. Mouths within inches of each other, their breath mingled. It was crazy but Shannon was sure she felt their hearts beating in rhythm. She began to tingle everywhere and held her breath.

Their gazes met and held and Ryan became motionless, his arm still above her head reaching for the plate. It struck Shannon that she was seeing the dangerous side of him, the soldier sizing up the situation and preparing for action. Only in this case, what would that be? She refused to let her mind go there.

Saved by Venom by Lolita Lopez

We have a special guest with us today, and she's here talking about her latest release, Saved by Venom by Lolita Lopez. She's also included a character interview from her heroine, Dizzy! We begin with a blurb, excerpt and bio. Enjoy!

BLURB
To escape her father's debt to a loan shark, Dizzy seeks refuge in the upcoming Grab. She’d rather belong to one of those terrifying sky warriors from the battleship Valiant than to the sleazy criminal who wants her as his plaything.

The years of constant war haven’t been kind to highly decorated sniper Venom. Only the promise of earning a wife kept him going through deadly battles. Catching and collaring Dizzy fills him with incredible hope. Finally he has a woman of his own, a mate to love—and bind and adorn with his ropes.

After a brazen Splinter attack, the Shadow Force uncovers secrets about Dizzy’s late mother that entangle her in a web of deceit. To save Venom, her father and an operative named Terror, Dizzy digs deep and risks it all.

Venom refuses to stand idly by while Dizzy’s haunted past threatens the future they’re trying to build. He finally has a reason for living—and he’s not giving her up.

Sneak Peek Excerpt:

He sneaked a glance at Dizzy. She was just so damn beautiful! Wisps of pale-blonde hair curved around her jaw and neck. Warm and cozy inside the heated blanket, she’d gotten some color back into her face. The pink shade highlighted the apples of her cheeks. Those full lips and her honey-brown eyes enthralled him.

Soon, he would have her small body pinned beneath his in their bed. He’d stare down into those big brown eyes before claiming her mouth, before claiming her. Faced with the knowledge that he would be the first man to know her body, Venom would be a liar if he said he wasn't excited by the prospect of sharing something special with her.

But the fear of frightening or hurting her struck him cold.

The women from Calyx were so small compared to the women from the other planets where his people had initiated Grab schemes. On the Valiant, they had run into problems with medical care because of pharmaceutical formulations. As far as he knew, those issues had been resolved.

But their differences in size made him a little nervous. Vicious had been frank and honest when Venom had worked up the courage to inquire about how things worked behind closed doors. The general had assured him that with a little patience and a hell of a lot of foreplay things went beautifully.

Venom glanced at Dizzy again. She deserved a tender introduction to the pleasures to be found in his bed. Though he preferred to be in total control in the bedroom, he would be willing to hand her the reins for their first few weeks together. That meant keeping the door to the playroom locked. One look at the ropes and cuffs and she would probably have a panic attack. He wanted a happy wife, not one who fled every time he walked through the front door.

Her nervous gaze jumped around the ship’s interior. Wanting to ease her anxiety, he reached for her hand. He had taken off his gloves and tucked them into his jacket while she was being checked by the medics. Feeling her silky skin beneath his rough fingertips made the simple action of grasping her hand feel so intimate.

“The display mounted up there tells us how long we have until liftoff.” He pointed to the screen in question. “Since this is your first time flying and going into space, you’ll probably want to stop drinking that water now.” He eyed the half-empty bottle. “Your stomach is likely to rebel.”

Her eyebrows arched. “Is ascending that rough?”

He shook his head. “Not in these transport ships but your body isn’t used to the extreme forces. There will be a few minutes of discomfort as we climb higher and higher. When we bust through the upper atmosphere you’ll experience ten or twenty seconds of weightlessness before the gravity boosters kick online. If you get sick grab one of these.” He gestured to the puke bags tucked into the overhead compartments. “Once we’re in flight our pilot Zephyr will probably open the observation window. You might like the view.”

Instead of fright on her face, he saw only curiosity. “It must be amazing to see the things you’ve seen and to experience the things you’ve experienced.”

He started to tell her that she wouldn’t like to relive most of the awful things he had seen during his career but he stopped himself. She had probably never traveled farther than the woods where she had been Grabbed. He’d crossed the galaxy and visited dozens of different worlds, some beautifully lush and tropical and others frighteningly cold and harsh. He had seen alien life forms with his two human eyes that she likely had never even seen in books.

“Now that you’re mine, you’re going to experience all sorts of amazing and wild things.”

A coy smile played upon her mouth. “Is that a come-on or a promise?”

He chuckled at her teasing. “Both.”

The screen blinked with a one-minute warning. A member of the flight crew walked up and down the aisles checking seat belts and ensuring that anything that might go flying during weightlessness had been secured. The crewman tapped a button to alert the pilots things were a-okay and took his seat.

Beside him Dizzy gripped the arm of her chair and his hand. She put on a brave face but he sensed the prospect of rocketing off her planet’s surface into the great unknown with a stranger might have finally hit her. The sounds of sniffling and muffled sobs met his ears as other women began to cry. Whether it was from the fear of flying or the stress of their new situations he couldn’t say. Either way his heart ached for them.

A little about the character Venom:

Rank: Land Corps Captain, SRU second-in-command

Specialty: Sniper

Mate: Dizzy

Ranked as the third best shot in the entire land corps force, Venom is nonetheless the most deadly of all their snipers. During the Sendarian siege, he volunteered to take a risky position outside the wire to keep the desperately needed supply routes open. Haunted by that battle, he lives for the day he can take a mate. Currently, he's the second-in-command of the SRU Alpha Team aboard the Valiant.

Author Bio:

While browsing bookstore shelves as a teenager, Lo discovered the erotic writings of Anaïs Nin and A.N. Roquelaure. Certain her mother would not approve, Lo smuggled the books home and squirreled them away in the most likely of places: under her bed. Late at night, she delved into the sensual worlds both writers created.

As a co-ed studying biochemistry and genetics at Texas A&M University, Lo dabbled in creating naughty tales to entertain her friends. Study for a midterm or pen a deliciously dirty story to delight her small band of fans? Not surprisingly, Lo is now on an extended sabbatical from college.

Luckily, Lo stumbled onto the world of erotic romance publishers. She realized there were other readers and writers who loved and craved breathtaking romance with the spiciest of love scenes. She took a chance and submitted her first novella. The rest is history.

Lo lives in Texas with her Viking throwback of a husband and mischievous preschool-aged daughter. She also writes super sexy romances and scorching hot erotica under the pen name Roxie Rivera.
Below is a character interview from the heroine, Dizzy, from Saved by Venom by Lolita Lopez

Dizzy's interview:
· If there is one thing that you can change in your life that you regret (past or present) what would that be?

My only true regret is not having a chance to say goodbye to my mother before we were both caught in the Splinter terrorist bombing near the Harcos embassy in Uptown.

· What is on your mind at this moment?

I'm thinking about this exquisite sample of sky blue fabric that Naya showed me earlier this morning. She's found this amazing textile warehouse on the Jesco colony that wants to do trade with us. I can't wait to get my hands on a bolt of fabric. I have the perfect design in mind!

· What is ideal perfect date for you and Venom? (or What was one?)

Ooh. That's a tough one. One our Blue Shores getaway, he built a fire on the beach, packed a picnic and spread out some blankets and…well…you can guess the rest.

· What do you value most in someone as a friend?

Compassion and kindness.

· What is one thing that you fear most?

The front lines of the war between Venom's people and the Splinters coming to my planet. Venom has already seen such terrible bloodshed. I can't abide the thought of him having to go through that again.

· What is one thing that is your favorite gift that you have been given?

It's a tie between the bracelet my parents gave me on my sixteenth birthday and the incredible fabric printer-slash-sewing machine that Venom procured for me.

· Could you give us one moment that was your happiest?

My wedding day was pretty fantastic. I missed my mother terribly but I had my dad and my biological father there along with my friends. Venom looked so incredibly handsome, and the vows we exchanged filed me with a tremendous amount of happiness and hope.

· What is the most lovable trait in Venom?

His protective streak. It's hard to stay annoyed with him when he goes all alpha male on me because I know he derives such incredible pleasure from pampering and spoiling me.

· If there is one that you could change with Venom what would that be?

Well—he can be awfully bossy at times! But I've learned to embrace and love that side of him. Goodness knows he's had to make some compromises for me!

· Do you keep any secrets from Venom?

No. After everything we've survived, there is only truth between us now.

Elf on the shelf

Do any of you do elf on the shelf this year? Meet Ernie. He gets around, and even helps himself to marshmallows! My three year old grandson, Mason, doesn't understand the significance of Ernie. But my seven year old granddaughter, Alivia, sure does. You don't touch Ernie, or he'll go away. And he's always watching. It's funny to watch Alivia when she comes home from school because her eyes immediate look for, and zero in on him as soon as she walks in the door. We learned early on that you put Ernie up high enough for Mason not to be able to reach him. Thank goodness Alivia didn't see him pick Ernie up the day daddy put him on the log in the fireplace, she would have freaked!

Nice Surprise!

Just got word of this new review for Burning Hunger from The Romance Reviews ! Angie wrote a rave review, below is just a snippet.
I have a theory about author Tory Richards. I suspect that when she writes, her keyboard smokes! I certainly imagined it did with this delicious conclusion to her Evans Brothers Trilogy. If anything, the push and pull between Val and Chaz is the hottest conflagration in the series, and the missing condom scene was certainly funny and original. Fans who have enjoyed A Perfect Fit and Surrender to Desire definitely won't want to miss out on Val's story, especially since she plays a role in the two aforementioned tales.
Bravo, Tory Richards, for an entertaining series with three hot triplet heroes and three sassy heroines. And, way to finish with a strong conclusion!
