Special Valentine's Day Interview With Cover Model John Antorino
Today I want to wish everyone a Happy Valentine's Day and I hope it is full of all the love and passion you dream of. Now for a Valentine's Day surprise. Ladies, I am super excited because I have a special Valentines Day treat for you.
John Antorino, the sexy cover model and actor, is visiting here today and has agreed to be an open book for this special Valentine's Day interview for you. He's been busy filming so we're lucky he could fit it into his busy schedule.
Q.) John, what does Valentine's Day mean to you?
J.A.) The thing with me is. When I have someone special in my life, love, affection, passion, romance is shown year round. It's not just for the day on Valentine's Day. I am who I am all the time. I'm always affectionate and romantic. I don't need a certain day for it. And to pretend on that day like many do. Sadly. But yes, Valentines Day is really nice when you have someone you REALLY love by your side and on this special day show it a little more.
Q.) Do you look for a lady who is extremely fit, like you are? One who is very athletic?
J.A.) No, not really. I like a fit woman. But she doesn't have to be extremely fit and like I am. I actually don't like women who are crazy into fitness and working out like I am. And I can't stand muscular women. Not at all.
Q.) Our readers, many who are single, may want to know what you look for in a woman. What special qualities do you seek?
J.A.) First and foremost she has to be down to earth and fun. Caring and giving. Selfless. Affectionate. Family oriented. Surely not into partying and going to bars and clubs. Not at this point in my life. Pretty, but she doesn't have to be a model. I prefer cute/girl next door actually. I've dated many models and actresses and I have to say I'd much rather have a low-key girl next door type. Inner beauty means the most to me. More than looks do. Beauty starts on the inside!
Q.) What special qualities do you have to offer her in return?
J.A.) Everything! Ha-ha no really. I hate to be asked this kind of question being a really humble down to earth guy; it's hard to answer. But I will. Yes, everything. I cook and clean. Very much a family guy. A complete gentleman always. Open doors always, and just a man, a real man in every sense of the word and take care of my woman in every way.
I don't drink or do drugs or go out with my friends to strip clubs and nonsense like that. Hate bars and clubs. I'm romantic and a passionate lover. A classy guy and when I have a girlfriend she knows she's loved!
Q.) Are you single taken just dating or looking?
J.A.) I am single and dating. Having fun. Definitely not taken. Looking? Hmmmm not really. No. I am just living life and to the fullest. Whatever will be will be.
Q.) Are there any little things you might do to let your lady know you care for her?
J.A.) For sure!! I am big on the little things. I do a ton of little things when I have a girlfriend. Leave little notes and cards, flowers at work, cook dinners and breakfast in bed. Surprise gifts. Sweet text messages. Romantic weekend getaways.
Q.) You're invited your lady over for a romantic Valentines Day dinner in and you are cooking (I heard you were a good cook). What will you be cooking and or baking? What music is playing? How will you greet her and how do you plan or hope the evening will proceed?
J.A.) I'm cooking Italian most likely. But could be seafood. Ok, so I'll go with Italian. But really depends what the lady likes most. I'm first off making my homemade sauce. Then I'm making my homemade meatballs. Main course is chicken parm. Side of pasta. A nice salad. Shrimp cocktail appetizer. And for dessert pumpkin pie with whipped cream and chocolate cake. Then after that the real dessert. Wink wink …. Music playing will be Brian McKnight. I'll of course greet her with a big hug and kisses. The night will go like this. A nice candlelit dinner and music. Good dessert after some sexy conversation and eye contact. Then into the bedroom to cuddle up with a good movie. Then lots of kisses….
Q.) Anticipation is half the fun and passion built slowly can be strong and powerful. What is your favorite way to build the anticipation and passion?
J.A.) Hmmm in person or before getting together? In person I don't waste much time really. I get right down to business with the passion. Ha-ha. Before getting together the sweet and sexy texts are nice. Flowers and gifts. A lot of talk about what will happen when we get together. For extra anticipation.
Q.) Your Valentine's Day dinner and passionate evening went so well now it's breakfast time already. What are you two having and will you be haven breakfast in bed or seated together at the table?
J.A.) Easy one. I'm making breakfast in bed. I make pumpkin toast and pancakes. So good!! So I'll make those. With some eggs and homemade breakfast potatoes.
Q.) Since you travel so much it might happen that Valentines Day finds you away from home. How would you and your lady spend Valentine's Day away? Do you have a favorite romantic getaway?
J.A.) Yes I do. If I'm away without my girl and it's Valentine's Day, which by the way would be rare for me when I have a girlfriend. When I have a girlfriend I try and be sure we are together. But if not I'd send nice flowers and gifts. Just show her and tell her how much she means to me and that I miss her and wish we were together. And if her and I were to plan a getaway for Valentine's Day would be one of these places: NYC, Bahamas, Italy,or St Thomas.
Q.) I am blushing red asking you these next questions. But your fans want to know. So here goes. Do you like to be in charge and control things when you're with a woman or do you like her to take charge?
J.A.) I'm definitely in control and in charge. And I have to say my lady comes first. She is taken care of and shown what passion and bliss is. Definitely satisfied and happy. I make sure of it!!
Q.) You're the fantasy of so many women all over the world. But do you have a fantasy yourself?
J.A.) I have to say I really don't. I pretty much make things happen in my life. Not a daydreamer and a man that sits around and fantasizes about things and sex and women. If I want it, I go get it and make it happen.
Q.) Favorite love position?
J.A.) Top. Looking into my ladies eyes and showing her and telling her how I feel. Pouring myself into her. My heart soul passion ….
Q.) Are you ticklish? If so, where?
J.A.) Hmmmmmm. I don't know. Maybe I am. I can't give that away. Haha. Maybe a little. Laughing!!
Q.) Do you enjoy slow dancing?
J.A.) Yes I do. A lot!
Q.) Do you wear cologne? If so, what kind?
J.A.) Yes. I wear Versace colognes. Armani, Yves St. Laurent, and old school and still one of my favs - Calvin Klein Escape.
Q.) It is said that the way to a man's heart is through his stomach. What special foods would have your heart warming up toward your lady?
J.A.) Oh yes! But the thing is, I usually do the cooking. I love to cook. I've had women make me dinners before. And it was nice. Problem is, I'm such a picky eater. But to answer your question. Always Italian! And anything pumpkin!
Closing:
John, thank you for visiting here on Valentine's Day and for getting a little more intimate for our readers. It's been a lovely Valentines Day treat.
Q.) Where can we find you next? What movies, covers and interviews do you have coming up?
J.A.) Thank you for having me. Was fun and my pleasure. You can find me on 2 new shows coming up - "The Knick" and "Escaping the Holocaust". I am shooting several book covers coming up - "The Protector by Mary Moriarty" and another over by Sabrina Devonshire. Also shooting some ads for a new underwear campaign.
Q.) Do you have a special Valentine's Day wish for our readers?
J.A.) Happy Valentines Day to all the ladies and everyone out there. Make it a special and sexy day. Full of love, passion, romance, hugs and kisses.

Interview With C.J. Hollenbach
Today I'm pleased to introduce you to C.J. Hollenbach here on Cover Model Corner.
I met C.J. several years ago at the Romantic Times Booklovers Convention and always look forward to seeing him again when I attend RT. The last time I saw C.J. was RT in Chicago in 2012, so it's fun to be able to catch up with him here today and to hear and share his exciting news with you.
Welcome C.J.! Let's start at the beginning.
What was the first cover you appeared on and how did this come about?
C.J.) My first cover was for Susan King's, "The Stone Maiden", which has since been reissued in a new series of her trilogy.
This time I did the "The Stone Maiden" for the new batch. So, I've come full circle. (Talk about feeling OLD!) But, after 8 years of knocking on doors and pounding the pavement I happened to be in the right place at the right time and met the right person with the right contacts, the "perfect storm" if you will. The cover model business today is so different. E-books have opened up the market. It's much easier to do covers today. Back in the day if you didn't work in New York City, you didn't work. There I go "dating" myself again ...
Q.) If you could do a photo shoot anywhere in the world for a cover, where would you most want to go? What sort of shoot would it be?
C.J.) I've always wanted to go to Hawaii. Someplace there with a waterfall would be just fine. Any kind of exotic location would work. I'm used to studio work.
Q.) Beyond romance novel cover shots, what other projects or jobs keep you busy?
C.J.) My new book. See below!
Q.) What's one question you wish an interviewer would ask you?
C.J.) What's it like to be a cover model?
For ME, anyway, living in Ohio and doing what I do is not easy. I have to hide my hair as much as possible. I'm sort of a "dinosaur" in that sense. I seem to cause a stir whenever it's down. Kind of crazy, but it comes with the territory, I guess. Most of my friends won't go out with me in public anymore. They don't like the attention I seem to attract. I'm used to it. There aren't.
Q.) If you wrote a book, what would it be about?
C.J.) Funny you should ask! MY book, "Confessions Of A Romance Cover Model" was just released Christmas Day in E-book form. The paperback comes out Feb. 28th. It's about my 20 years in the romance cover model business. I'm still doing covers. So, I've outlived FABIO in that sense. He's in the book too! It begins with me being a contestant in the first every "Mr. Romance Cover Model Pageant" in San Diego at a Romantic Times convention. I've talked to so many "veteran" cover models who are mad that I beat them to the punch with my book. You snooze, you lose, Guys!
Q.) This question is almost always asked in interviews because your fitness level is beyond the average persons. What is your exercise routine and what sort of nutrition plan do you follow to achieve and maintain your level of fitness?
C.J.) I workout 6 days a week and try to divide my routine into a different body part every day. If I'm in training for a big shoot my diet is more strict. Most people know what to eat and what not to. Diet is so essential. They just don't want to deprive themselves. If it was that easy EVERYBODY would be a romance cover model. LOL
Q.) If you could share three simple fitness tips the average romance reader could do every day to stay healthy, what would they be?
C.J.) Try and do at least 20 minutes of cardio activity everyday. Do an ab routine you can stick with. Find something that works for you and "just do it"! Watch your diet!
Q.) It's your birthday dinner and the calories don't count. What's on the menu and what are you drinking?
C.J.) If calories don't count WHAT ISN'T ON THE MENU? Cake for sure. Good champagne is good too.
Q.) Please share one unusual fact about your or your life:
C.J.) I was named "Sexiest Grocer in America" after I was in Playgirl magazine and was still managing a grocery store. Most people don't visualize their grocery store managers naked … or at least they didn't! That title, as much as it makes me cringe sometimes has gotten me a lot of attention over the years. There's no such thing as bad publicity!
Eight Quickie Questions:
1.) Watching the sunrise or watching the sunset and the stars?
C.J.) Sunset. I've done some great cover shoots on location at sunset.
2.) The beach or the mountains?
C.J.) Beach
3.) Primitive camping or luxury hotel?
C.J.: Hotel! Room service? What could be better?
4.) Snow skiing or water skiing?
C.J.) Really neither, but snow skiing if I MUST choose!
5.) Favorite movie:
C.J.) The Birds, the B/W version of "Titanic", The Wizard of Oz
6.) Best book you ever read:
C.J.) Anything with ME on the cover! LOL
7.) Fav. Sport to watch:
C.J.) Golf, believe it or not.
C.J., thank you for visiting with me today. It's been fun getting to know you better. Before we say goodbye, how can fans stay up to date on your latest news?

Interview With John Antorino
Today it is my pleasure to introduce John Antorio. I met John and his lovely mother at the East TN Writers Workshop two weeks ago where he graciously agreed to visit Cover Model Corner. John is a busy man and works as a cover model, actor, personal trainer, nutrition consultant and body builder.
Debra: What was the first cover you appeared on and how did this come about?
John: First romance cover I was on “Dreams of a Raven Moon” I met the author at an event in NYC and she said I want you for my next cover. And so we set it up and made it happen.
Debra: If you could do a photo shoot anywhere in the world for a cover, where would you most want to go? What sort of shoot would it be?
John: Well I’ve worked in some great places already and have done shoots of pretty much every kind. I’ve worked in Brazil Italy Mexico St. Thomas Paris London Germany Aruba South Africa. To name a few. Maybe a snow shoot in Alaska? Hmmmmmmm
Debra: Beyond romance novel cover shots, what other projects or jobs keep you busy?
John: I’ve been blessed to have a great range and the ability to do a wide range of work. And to work hard to change my look and appearance when need be. I do underwear ads. Fitness magazine spreads and covers. I’m an actor as well so I’m working on TV shows and movies. Working on 2 big projects right now. An HBO series called “The Knick” playing a 1900’s Italian immigrant and playing a German Nazi Soldier in “Escaping the Holocaust”. Also, I am a sponsored endorsed athlete for Muscle Wiz supplement company. Been working extremely hard with it all!!
Debra: Can you tell us a little bit about the new movie you’ve been working on “Escaping the Holocaust”?
John: Well I’m playing a tough role. Nazi Soldier Pilka. I’ve prepared long and hard for it. Lost weight learned German and their mannerisms attitudes...It’s a real life true story. Really brutal content. But this has a happy love story ending. It’s about a man and a woman that met in one of the camps and were separated and both thought one another died. Only to find each other many years later alive and well. They are still together to this day. Amazing story.
Debra: It sounds like a great story. I'm looking forward to seeing the movie.
Debra: Who has been your favorite actor to work with so far?
John: Eric Roberts
Debra: Now that your acting career is where you are focused will you still be doing covers?
John: I will still do covers. Yes! Tell all your author and publisher friends. Wink Wink
Debra: I was hoping you would say that. I'd love to have you on one of my covers.
Debra: What's one question you wish an interviewer would ask you?
John: Well I’ve always been an open book. So anyone can ask me anything they want. Anything goes. I don’t get a lot of questions about my personal life and women and my dating and sex life. Haha
Debra: If you wrote a book, what would it be about?
John: My life
Debra: This question is almost always asked in interviews because your fitness level is beyond the average persons. What is your exercise routine and what sort of nutrition plan do you follow to achieve and maintain your level of fitness?
John: I typically do double gym sessions. I do cardio(treadmill bike elliptical)and abs early in the am on an empty stomach. 6am. Then go back in the afternoon and do my weight training. My diet right now is very clean and usually clean eating for me year round. For the past 10 weeks I’ve been eating chicken, fish, egg whites, and turkey. That’s it! In preparation for my recent work and roles. This is the diet I needed. Lost 25lbs.
Debra: If you could share three simple fitness tips the average romance reader could do every day to stay healthy, what would they be?
John: First, Be active…stay active! Go to the gym a several days a week. Walk or run. Do push-ups. You don’t need to be a gym member to be in shape and be healthy. Just be active! Two, drink water. Lots of it! Three, watch your daily fat sugar and carbohydrate intake. And watch eating after 6pm.
Debra: Such great tips. I've really got to watch eating after 6 pm. because I almost always do.
Debr: It's your birthday dinner and the calories don't count. What's on the menu and what are you drinking?
John: Italian food. Lots of it! Chicken parm, ravioli, meatballs, Italian bread. And cannoli’s for dessert. And I’m drinking water. It’s all I drink.
Debra: Describe the perfect romantic evening:
John: I’d cook a nice homemade dinner at home. Candle lit. Nice relaxing chill music. Some good dessert. A good movie. Hugs and kisses. Sleep with my arms around her. That’s my perfect romantic evening.
Debra: That sounds wonderful. Very romantic.
Please share one unusual fact about you or your life:
John: I’ll name a few.
I never had a sip of alcohol in my life. I was a school crisis counselor for several years and worked with disabled adults and children for several years as well. Before my career really took off. I am very passionate about helping others and giving back.
Eight Quickie questions:
1.) Watching the sunrise or watching the sunset and the stars?
I love both. But if I had to pick one would be the sunset. Perfect end to the day.
2.) The beach or the mountains?
Easy one. Beach
3.) Primitive camping or luxury hotel? Luxury hotel
4.) Snow skiing or water skiing? Water skiing
5.) Favorite movie: Hard one. I have so many. Goodfellas
6.) Best book you ever read: The Bible
7.) Fav. Sport to play: Wrestling
8.) Fav. Sport to watch: Football
Debra: John, you have such a positive and encouraging way about you and you have accomplished so much in your life already. Are there any words of encouragement you would like to share here today?
John: Thank you. Yes. Just always be willing to work hard for what you want in life. Be willing to sacrifice. Nothing in life worth anything comes easy. Set goals and go after them. Never ever let anyone tell you, you can’t do something. And I am huge on staying humble and down to earth, and give back as much as you can.
Debra: Excellent advice. John, thank you for visiting with me today. It's been fun getting to know you. Before we say goodbye, do you have any news or announcements to share?
John: My pleasure. Just watch out for “Escaping the Holocaust”. And “The Knick”. And more covers coming soon!!
Debra: How can fans stay up to date on your latest news?

Breaking My Sugar Addiction - What I Have Learned
Several months ago I broke an extreme sugar addiction I didn’t realize I had. I started a 40-day Yoga Chakra Cleanse thinking I would get healthier, lose weight and get into a daily yoga practice. The Cleanse required me to cut out all processed sugars among other things, but allowed honey and fruit. I stopped eating processed foods and sugars. By day three I was feeling quite cranky.
The first two weeks were the hardest. I developed a headache from the back of the neck up over the top of my head, which did not cease. I became snappish and felt like flinging plates at people’s heads. Those who know me might find this shocking because I am the least likely person to yell at you, let alone fling something at your head. I was going through sugar withdrawal. The craving got so bad I recall standing in front of the kitchen cabinet, soup spoon in hand, eyeing the brown sugar. This shocked me more than anything else, because this was something new. Who eats heaping spoonfuls of sugar? After returning to that cabinet more than once to look at the brown sugar I knew I had a problem. That day I faced the fact I had an extreme sugar addiction and it had to stop. I dumped the processed sugars in the house into the trash. Opened containers and poured the granules out in case I was tempted to dig through the trash later. I had to get it out of the house. That was the roughest patch but I stayed strong.
On day 38 I broke the cleanse because it was my birthday. I was celebrating at the Lori Foster Reader Author Getaway and brought in a sheet cake to share so of course I was going to have a piece. A small piece, but it was sugar and you cannot fool your body. That evening I also had a birthday drink, a strawberry daiquiri with whipped cream. It was a fun birthday but that evening I was up until 4:00 a.m. All that sugar and I couldn’t sleep. The next day I had flu symptoms (and the headache I would come to recognize) from the early morning hours until dinner. I believe it was the sugar because it went away when I drank plenty of water and ate a mild dinner.
That was more than six weeks ago. Other than my birthday I’ve stuck close to avoiding processed sugar. This weekend I made my famous rum cake for our youngest sons birthday dinner. I tried a small slice and ended up with that headache again. I’ve learned to recognize it.
At the end of the 40 day cleanse I felt healthier and lost twelve lbs and kept it off. I didn’t feel deprived because I could eat all the fruit I wanted. The headaches were gone. Carrots and strawberries tasted sweet again. My tongue now celebrates the natural sugars in fruit. I feel better not eating sugar than I do eating it and have come to the realization that even that small piece of cake isn’t worth it nor does it taste as good as I thought it would.
During these past three months, I’ve learned a lot about myself and everyone else around me. Here are some things I learned which have had me thinking.
Sugar is in nearly every processed food and the amounts can be staggering. Americans are eating far more sugar than many realize. It’s socially accepted that we eat plenty of sugar. Every holiday we’re surrounded by sweets. Candy, baked goods, drinks. If we say no thank you I’m full or I don’t care for any right now some people will still take offense. They might say…just a bite. One little bite won’t hurt. Everyone else is having some. You can go back on your diet tomorrow. You can eat healthy after the holiday is over.
Some say sugar is so addictive it should be classified as a drug. It works on the part of the brain, which responds to opiates so there is science behind this train of thought.
Let’s replace the word sugar with another addictive substance like cocaine or crack. Most of us would never agree to just try a little. Because someone says a little won’t hurt.
You’re going to hear me say this more than once. You are in control of what you put into your body. No one else. If you give up that control to someone else because they twisted your arm, made you feel like you ought to or have to, then you give them the power over your body and over your health. It also touches on the issue of respect. If you do not care to have any then your wishes should be treated with respect. Adults should treat other adults with respect and if they do not, there is more going on than simply who is or who is not having that slice of cake.
There are many good cooks out there whose egos are heavily invested in their cooking. For some, it is a way of showing love and there’s nothing wrong with that. But for those who take issue with someone not having a slice of that cake, or pie, or cookie it could have more to do with them than with you. People with low self-esteem are often threatened by anyone who doesn’t do as they do, like what they like, like what they’ve made. Their self-esteem is caught up in the piece of cake you don’t want. They might even be a little angry. Sometimes the person shoving sweets at you is not so sweet.
Some people will be threatened by anyone living a healthier lifestyle because they don’t want to examine what they are doing in their own lives. It’s easier to focus on you and take that focus off them. They may say all sorts of strange things to you, accuse you of being difficult, sabotage in small ways like making your favorite dessert, giving you sweets as a gift, buying that extra sweet treat one for them and one for you. Anything to pull you out of that no processed sugar life choice. Let’s again switch the word sugar for cocaine or crack. Why would anyone want you to take something into your body after you’ve told them it isn’t healthy for you, or you don’t care for it? I’ve met people who have told me it’s easier to tell people you’re diabetic or have “sugar” so they’ll leave you alone. But when I ask, then do they leave you alone, the answer has been no and shots or testing the levels are mentioned. I have a lot more sympathy for anyone who is diabetic and dealing with this.
It puts me in mind of folks who’ve told me I ought to take pills for lactose intolerance so I can drink milk or have ice cream. Taking a pill in order to eat something my body clearly says is not good for me has never made sense to me. Again, I return to the question, why are other people so interested in or invested in what I do or do not eat or drink? What is the big deal? You eat what you like and I will eat what I like and let’s co-exist peacefully together. It does not have to be a big deal.
I will say it again. You and you alone decide what you put into your body. No one else. You are the one living inside your beautiful body and it is the temple for your soul. Treat it well and with love. Be strong, be healthy, and be well.

It would be in BRAZIL for a Sports Illustrated SWIMSUIT EDITION cover. Hahaha. You didn't say 'what' kind of cover. Now for a Book cover? I'd probably so somewhere that has Castles and Oceans. Stuff like that. And I'd do REAL SHOTS. Not that Photoshop fake backgrounds like you see everywhere.
Q- Beyond romance novel cover shots, what other projects or jobs keep you busy?
I shoot for the Fitness Industry. Mostly competitors that do shows and compete but also individuals who lose weight and want to get shots of themselves in their prime shape. I also personal train people at the studio.
Q- What's one question you wish an interviewer would ask you?
“Charles, How does it feel to be happily married, have your own studio, shooting for Muscular Development Magazine and win the Lotto all in one year?”
Q - If you wrote a book, what would it be about?
It would be a Childrens book. Teaching them to help others in need and how to handle situations they may come across in their youth. It would be a whole series. One book would feature a kid who has trouble reading and his classmates help him. Another maybe a kid who has trouble making friends and is a loner, so the kids come together and involve him in activities. Maybe even one who is overweight? I don’t know. Children are the most important thing right now. Instilling values and integrity into them at a young age will make the world better in the long run.
Q- This question is almost always asked in interviews because your fitness level is beyond the average persons. What is your exercise routine and what sort of nutrition plan do you follow to achieve and maintain your level of fitness?
Ice Cream. Chocolate. Bacon. Fried Foods. That is all. Lol. I got a nutritionist who helps me with my diet and training. I have done it on my own and I'm fine, BUT it takes another person watching your intake to truly help you change your body. I do a lot of High Intensity training along with Heavy Lifting. I bench 455 on a flat bench. Dead lifted over 600. Leg Press 1500lbs for reps. But Im more for a Look now. They don’t have weight machines at the library or store so whats the point of looking sloppy. Lol
Q- If you could share three simple fitness tips the average romance reader could do every day to stay healthy, what would they be?
Honest opinion is to HIRE someone who knows what they are doing. Bottom line. It is an investment in yourself and worth it.
BUT, If I had to choose 3 Id say:
-BE ACTIVE. Start with 20min cardio a day. Maybe take a walk around the park. 20min will turn into 30min. Then an hour. We all start somewhere.
-EAT CLEAN. No fast foods. No soda. Lots of Green Veggies and lean protiens.
-IT’S A MARATHON, NOT A SPRINT. Most of the time people go HARD and burn out. Remember, it’s a Lifestyle change. Not just a temporary change.
Q- It's your birthday dinner and the calories don't count. What's on the menu and what are you drinking?
OH MY!! Hahaha. Shots of PATRON for sure!!! Maybe A Backyard BBQ with lots of friends and Family. Carrot Cake as dessert. Food is always more enjoyable when you are surrounded by people. I'm alone most of the time when I eat. Sad, I know but true.
Q- Describe the perfect romantic evening:
Romance? Whats That? Hahaha. I don’t know honestly. Its been a VERY LONG time since Ive gone on a ‘date’. Let alone have a romantic evening with someone. Beach and wine with the sunset. Ya know? That kind of cliché I guess, but in my world, Id take a girl to DAVE and BUSTERS. Its like an Adult Chuckie Cheese. Good Food. Games. And of course Alcohol. Hahaha. Then back to the house for some ‘Naughtiness’ But its more about interacting and having fun with someone. Creating that Chemistry. Laughing together. I do things differently. I don’t do Fancy Resturaunts and stuff.

Q- Please share one unusual fact about you or your life:
Once Upon a Time, I was supposed to be Married. Have kids. Have a Job that over worked and under paid me. Along with being over weight and out of shape. But at the same time, I would be…. Happy. I feel at times that THIS Life, THESE moments, THIS ride that I have been on for the last few years, Isnt supposed to be real. Imagine a life with No ‘MR.ROMANCE’. No BODY BUILDING. No FIFTH ELEMENT STUDIOS. No HAWTNESS CREATOR. None of these things that have made me famous or a known for the past few years. Id say that is the unusual thing about my life. I'm not supposed to be here.
Eight Quickie questions:
1.) Watching the sunset or watching the stars?
Watching sunsets, lead to watching stars but most impotantly, that leads to watching ‘Sun Rises’ ;-)
2.) The beach or the mountains?
Beach. Without a Doubt.
3.) Primitive camping or luxury hotel?
Hotel. Not a fan of Camping. Lol.
4.) Snow skiing or water skiing?
Water Skiing. DUH!!! Why do something that is cold and keeps Women Covered up?!?!?! HAHA
5.) Favorite movie:
At this time, LOVE AND OTHER DRUGS was a great movie I just saw. As well as WIN WIN. Both are MUST SEES
6.) Best book you ever read:
Of Mice and Men
7.) Fav. Sport to play:
Soccer
8.) Fav. Sport to watch:
None really. Except PROFESSIONAL WRESTLING!!!! Yes, I said it. Lol
9.) Fav. TV Show:
Game of Thrones and Boardwalk Empire.
Thank you for visiting with me today. It's been fun getting to know you.

Interview With Cover Model Len Gunn
Today on Cover Model Corner I'm pleased to introduce cover model Len Gunn.
I had the pleasure of meeting Len at the Romantic Times Booklovers Convention last year in Chicago at the Desert Breeze Publishing author breakfast and I'm pleased to host him here on Cover Model Corner so you can have a chance to meet him too. :-)
Len, what was the first cover you appeared on and how did this come about?
My first cover is Honor by Janet Dailey. I had the good fortune of competing in the 2011 Mr. Romance Competition in LA during the RT convention. To my surprise, I won the competition and was awarded a photoshoot with Kensington Publishing which yielded not one but five covers!

If you could do a photo shoot anywhere in the world for a cover, where would you most want to go? What sort of shoot would it be?
I would love to shoot in Florence, Italy. The natural beauty of the lush hillsides is breathtaking! I could see either shooting a picnic scene with a vineyard in the background or walking through the vineyard holding hands with my beloved.
Beyond romance novel cover shots, what other projects or jobs keep you busy?
In my spare time (haha), I run a lawn irrigation company. Yeah, I dig holes all day! I enjoy the blue collar work; always have. It allows me to keep life in perspective and to fully appreciate getting treated like a “king” when I am on a photoshoot.
What's one question you wish an interviewer would ask you?
Why hasn’t a woman swept you off your feet?
This question is almost always asked in interviews because your fitness level is beyond the average persons. What is your exercise routine and what sort of nutrition plan do you follow to achieve and maintain your level of fitness?
Hmm, I honestly don’t like to bore others with this subject. I live by one simple rule, what you put into your body (fuel) is what you will get out of it. There is really no reason to make it any more complicated than that. I maintain a very healthy diet of course, and try to change it up every so often so my body doesn’t become dependent on any specific items. Since two years ago I rarely eat meat at all! I feel better than I ever did when on the traditional high protein, lots of meats diet. I feel like a well-oiled machine at all times and haven’t lost any size (common occurance for a traditional vegan or vegetarian male). As a matter of fact, I have added 7-8 lbs of muscle while on my newer diet. I work out with weights five days a week and seven days a week on core and cardio. It’s not an option, It’s everyday life! Desire, Discipline, and Dedication (3 D’s) is the key to any success. You gotta want it!
If you could share three simple fitness tips the average romance reader could do every day to stay healthy, what would they be?
Eat clean (the more ingredients on the list, the more processed it is), Find a way to sweat every day (guarantees you are raising your heart rate), and find ways to change it up often (go for a long walk one day, slow jog the next, change locations to keep you interested, etc).

It's your birthday dinner and the calories don't count. What's on the menu and what are you drinking?
Corned Beef and cabbage (favorite past time from growing up in the Northeast) and Boston Crème Pie! And of course a Pinot Noir from the Russian River Valley area.
Describe the perfect romantic evening:
It’s very simple; just spending time with someone that you have an unexplainable connection with. It doesn’t matter in what capacity when the connection is there. Sure, a low lit dinner exuding the ambiance of romance with a great view of a great city or the ocean in the background sets the night off right. But the connection is what it’s all about, because it’s any backdrop special.
10.) Please share one unusual fact about you or your life:
I am only the second in my extended family to attend college and obtain a four year degree (with honors I might add!). My oldest brother was the first and my inspiration for following through with the achievement.
Eight Quickie questions:
1.) Watching the sunset or watching the stars? Watching the sunset
2.) The beach or the mountains? The Beach
3.) Primitive camping or luxury hotel? Camping
4.) Snow skiing or water skiing? Snow skiing
5.) Favorite movie: Tommy Boy (I love comedies that don’t require thought)
6.) Best book you ever read: Intensity by Dean Koontz
7.) Fav. Sport to play: Golf and Beach Volleyball
8.) Fav. Sport to watch: Football (NFL)

Interview With Cover Model John Quinlan
Today on Cover Model Corner I'm pleased to introduce cover model John Quinlan.
John is the most tattooed male cover model in the world and it's a pleasure to share his interview here with you today.
Q - John, what was the first cover you appeared on and how did this come about?
*John* - It was called ‘Captive Fantasy’ by Ann Mayburn. She needed a model for her cover that was bad enough to rock a prison jumpsuit with tattoos. I guess I was just the guy she was looking for at the time.
Q - If you could do a photo shoot anywhere in the world for a cover, where would you most want to go? What sort of shoot would it be?
*John* - I love warm weather and beautiful backdrops when I do model shoots so ideally it would be someplace in the Caribbean. You know all the great things would be included like palm trees, sandy beaches and waterfalls. It would be amazing!
Q - Beyond romance novel cover shots, what other projects or jobs keep you busy?
*John* - I have been involved in fitness related things for over 20 years so projects of this nature are always on the table. I will be one of the cover models in Kansas City May 2-5 this year for the RT Convention which should be really fun. I also have 3 little children, 2 boys (6 and 3) and my little princess is 16 months. These angels keep me pretty busy as well but it’s the toughest job I will ever love.
Q - How do you feel about being the most tattooed male romance cover model in the world right now?
*John* - I bring a fresh new look to the romance cover model world. I definitely look a bit different than the traditional male romance cover model of the past. I have 19 individual tattoos; most of them have an Oriental and Celtic cross theme to them which include 2 half sleeves, 7 Kanji characters and 4 nautical stars just to name a few. I love being unique and being referred to as the most tattooed male romance cover model in the world right now does that for me and separates me from the traditional look of many of my model peers. I am truly honored and humbled by this title Debra.
Q -What's one question you wish an interviewer would ask you?
*John* - Great question Debra, maybe something along the line of, “what drives you?” It is a question that just asks what keeps me going, to never give up and to never quit. Great things happen to those that are good people who work hard and treat others with respect. I have done my best over time to be all of these things so let’s see what happens to John Quinlan.
Q -If you wrote a book, what would it be about?
*John* - It would have to be my autobiography. I never talk about myself as I am very humble BUT it would be about all the great people who supported me along this journey to the top of the mountain. Many people have called me the “Mickey Ward” of the modeling business because I was just a scrappy blue collar guy who never gave up. The dream was always in my mind and I worked endlessly to make it a reality.
Q - This question is almost always asked in interviews because your fitness level is beyond the average persons. What is your exercise routine and what sort of nutrition plan do you follow to achieve and maintain your level of fitness?
*John* - Debra, right now I follow an exercise regimen like a boxer. I train now more for stamina and burning calories to keep in top shape. There will be a day or two during the week when I will work out with weights that are bit heavier than normal to switch it up a bit but boxer training is my thing right now. My nutrition was always pretty basic. When it comes to my diet there was never anything scientific about it. I stick to the basics and the key is consistency. To have an effective diet that works one has to stick with it as results don’t happen overnight. I keep my protein level up to maintain my muscle mass during intense bouts of training through chicken, fish and some red meat here and there. I also use some quality whey protein as well. My carbohydrates are usually through oatmeal, potatoes and rice. My favorite vegetable is spinach which is full of iron so this does the job just fine. Good enough for Popeye is good enough for me! I was never a big dairy guy and I love berries, especially blue berries. There you have it my amazingly talented romance writing friend!
Q - If you could share three simple fitness tips the average romance reader could do every day to stay healthy, what would they be?
*John* - Read nutrition labels, don’t consume empty calories and eat a good breakfast (it is the most important meal of the day).
Q - It’s your birthday dinner and the calories don't count. What's on the menu and what are you drinking?
*John* - Greek pizza, loaded as that is my favorite cheat food without a doubt! I love Coke so mix some Rum into it for the sweetest drink to enjoy the moment! I have to mention the desert after everything settles. A chocolate marble cake with dark frosting that is just me for me only. This is so I have the chance to eat the whole thing without worrying about anybody stealing a slice!
Q - Describe the perfect romantic evening:
*John* - I know it sound cliché but a nice dinner in a fine restaurant always starts the night off right. It creates a nice foundation for the rest of the evening with endless possibilities.
Q - Please share one unusual fact about you or your life:
*John* - I was a Vegan but gave up that lifestyle.
Eight Quickie questions:
1.) Watching the sunset or watching the stars? Stars
2.) The beach or the mountains? Mountains
3.) Primitive camping or luxury hotel? Luxury Hotel
4.) Snow skiing or water skiing? Water Skiing
5.) Favorite movie: Wedding Crashers
6.) Best book you ever read: Too many to name just one, love sports books
7.) Fav. Sport to play: Basketball
8.) Fav. Sport to watch: Football
Debra - Thank you for visiting with me today. It's been fun getting to know you.
Before we say goodbye, how can fans stay up to date on your latest news? Do you have any news or announcements to share?
*John* - It has been an honor sitting down with you Debra. I think you are not only a great person but a very talented romance writer that I am proud to call my friend. Thank you for having me. As I mentioned earlier anybody who would like to meet me I will be in Kansas City May 2-5 for the RT Booklovers Convention at the Sheraton Kansas City Hotel at Crown Center. I look forward to meeting all the great writers and authors out there. God Bless
