Happy Pride Month - I wrote a WLW-centric novella

Chlorophyll and Gasoline

I’m a trans WLW (look sexuality is weird and undefinable for me but Girls r Great) and I see there’s a lot of posts going around about supporting queer creators and their content, and I am a queer creator and I make content. So if you feel like giving this book a try, it’s about 30k words long, it’s 1.99 USD, and I’d really appreciate it if you gave it a look.

Synopsis

Willow is a curious young woman who lives in the Yggdrasil, a city-sized tree host to dozens of villages eking out a living in the post-collapse world. On occasion, she plunges down into the dark and unmapped roots of Yggdrasil, trying to find rare plants or technological relics from the past. On a sortie to a new location, Willow finds a strange living statue that calls itself Suzy. In speaking to this statue, Willow starts to feel compelled towards helping this lost soul. However, before she can help Suzy, she must deal with the pushback at home, as not everyone believes Suzy to be the same kind person that Willow does.

Free Sample!

Willow breathed in the clean, pure air of Yggdrasil, looking up at the branches of the titanic tree, kilometers tall and sprawling outwards to the coast. Massive vines and tubers crossed between the branches, natural steps and paths grown and cultivated over decades, and dozens of different types of plants grew in the crevices and pits of the bark. Thick moss carpeted most everything around her, and mushrooms sprouted where the sun didn’t shine. She passed by a flower, the fruits glowing gently in response to her movement.

Check out an awesome new author!

Vesper! My Valhalla oc who has grown into her own wonderful bastard. I was very into the winter soldier when that movie came out and my immediate thoughts were “what if 200 years of That” and Vesper is the result. A disaster bi, here to be confused by the future, needs a nap.

sharkchunks:

The Langoliers had the coolest teeth.  They moved like chainsaws.

Indeed they did, and they inspired a certain jaw from Ragnarök.

i like how writing realistic worlds and characters is so important for so many writers to the point where they agonize over it. meanwhile lemony snicket was just like “death to reality. im gonna write this whole ass series and with god as my witness, absolutely fucking NOBODY is gonna act like a person.”

Daniel Handler, after downing whatever the hell he was on: The baby has piranha teeth and can take a trained swordswoman in a fight.

All of us: Fucking genius.

readers: what time and place is this set in?
Daniel Handler: Yes.

Was the beetle robot from spy kids an inspiration for tikaris?

Not directly but it’s definitely a kindred critter.
