The sisters of Sea Haven, bound by the heart and the magical power of the elements, return in this soul-stirring new novel from Christine Feehan, #1 New York Times bestselling author of Spirit Bound. . ."
Christine Feehan websisteFor as far back as she can remember, Airiana Ridell has always been aware of her extraordinary gift. She can intuit revealing and illuminating 'patterns' in the air around her-whether in a spray of mist, in billowing clouds, or in the dense swirls of an impenetrable fog. Her abilities led to her placement in a secret government training facility when she was a child, but everything changed after her mother was murdered.
Airiana fled the program, but she couldn't outrun the desperate members of a shadowy cabal who want her, who need her, who will kill to get her. Kidnapped and held aboard a ship bound for dangerous seas, her only chance for rescue is Maxim Prakenskii. He has his reasons for helping her, but he isn't about to reveal them to Airiana. Not yet. Not as the two are drawn together as moth to flame. Not when there are so many secrets yet untold that could shatter the quaint community of Sea Haven and all who reside there. . .

CHAPTER ONE
“I think we’ve got a spy.”
Marcus Danvers’s announcement erupted in Alex’s mind like Mt. St. Helens on a bad day.
Pushing his chair back slightly from the massive walnut desk that sat in the center of his office, Alex met Marcus’s expectant stare. “Why?”
Leaning in the open doorway, his six-foot-two-inch frame exuding casual relaxation while, Marcus’s blue eyes glittered with anticipation and amusement. “Harrison’s daughter called this morning.”
The closer they got to seeing John Harrison’s company dismantled, the less humor Alex found in anything.
“Explain.”
Marcus crossed the oversized office and sat down in one of the chairs facing Alex’s desk. “She wanted to know if I liked the idea of changing employers. Ms. Harrison said that she had a client interested in someone with my skill set and experience.”
Alex shrugged, making a concentrated effort not to overreact and feed Marcus’s off-beat sense of humor. “She works for one of the most exclusive headhunting agencies in the Portland area. She makes a lot of calls like the one you received this morning.”
Although he’d never met Isabel, Alex had no doubt she was a lot like her father. He stole men’s ideas. She stole employees, specializing in the hi-tech industry. According to his sources, she was very good at her job.
Marcus stretched out his long legs and crossed them at the ankle. “If you ask me, it’s too much of a coincidence right now. Our client is only months away from closing the deal on her dad’s company and she calls your most valuable employee trying to lure him away.”
“My most valuable employee being you?”
“Well, yes.” Marcus attempted a modest look of acceptance. “Not to mention an employee with inside information St. Clair’s plans to take Hypertron apart.”
Alex nodded. “I’ll look into it.”

“What did you say to her?”
Marcus turned around, his brows raised in mockery. “If I’d said yes, I wouldn’t have told you about the phone call, now would I?”
“With your twisted sense of humor, that’s not a given.”
“I told her no, boss. I’m not interested in leaving CIS. Working for you gives me a chance to use my hunter’s instincts without dressing up in fatigues and chasing some poor animal through the forest.”
With a sardonic smile, Marcus left.

In her newest love story, bestselling author Lucy Monroe invites you into a world of dazzling beauty, daring adventure, and sensual delight...
Outspoken, opinionated Thea Selwyn is no ordinary lady. Raised in the exotic West Indies, she has none of the starchy propriety Pierson Drake is accustomed to—rather, there is a lush sensuality about this impulsive beauty that tempts him unmercifully. Her delectable curves and wide, innocent eyes are enticing enough, but her breathless response to his touch is a lure he can’t resist.
On a voyage that takes them from tropical paradise to the glittering ballrooms of London, Thea and Drake are pulled into a firestorm of illicit passion. Thea knows that once they reach England, the secrets she’s been keeping will kill whatever Drake feels for her. But Drake’s own history has taught him the value of acceptance and the desolation of loss. Thea is the one women Drake has ever trusted with his heart, and he has no intention of losing her— not to the ghosts of the past or the threats of the present. But can he convince Thea to forget the hard lesson she’s learned and take a chance on love?

Sapphire Falls has few good memories for Mason Riley. So what’s he doing in the middle of the annual town Festival/class reunion eleven years after leaving town without a look back?
Letting the most popular girl in town—then and now—kiss up to him.
Mason has come a long way from the nerdy outcast Sapphire Falls remembers. His genius IQ has helped him make a name for himself with everyone from the World Health Organization to the White House. He’s also got the bank account to make the Mayor of Sapphire Falls herself—the girl who broke his heart in high school and the one who now wants him to donate to the town’s big building project—take notice.
He can’t wait to tell her no in person.
Adrianne Scott loves Sapphire Falls. The sleepy little town where her college roommate was elected Mayor has been the perfect place to escape the fast-paced, high stress sales job she had in Chicago. She’s happy, healthy and the new project means her dream candy shop can now become a reality. Everything is good in her quiet life. Until Mason Riley comes home.
Mason sure doesn’t look—or kiss—like a socially awkward geek. In fact, he makes Adrianne’s heart pound like nothing she’s ever experienced. Which means she needs to stay far away from him.
A great plan, until her friends inform her that Mason’s donation to the project is dependent on keeping him away from the Mayor while he’s in town.
Now all Adrianne has to do is keep Mason busy, distracted and feeling good about—and generous toward— his hometown… oh, and avoid falling for the world-saving, nerd-turned-hot-guy in the process.

Throwback Thursday - Bodyguards In Bed

Excerpt from Chapter 1:
That was the second time he’d admitted to talking to her brother about her. That had to mean something, right? That he was at least interested enough to mention her in passing to Roman.
“What did he warn you about?”
“That you have an unbalanced sense of humor.”
“Unbalanced? That’s harsh.” Though Roman had said worse when she’d switched salt for sugar in his canister and he’d added it to his morning coffee.
It was an old trick and she shouldn’t have gotten away with it, which is what she told him. Sugar and salt didn’t look alike to a person with their background in chemistry, not to mention the different smell, texture and melting rate in hot water.
He’d told her she needed to get a life. Of course it was his effort to see she had one that had prompted the salt in his coffee. He’d fixed her up with the most boring, obnoxiously intelligent man she’d ever met the night before. To make matters worse, they’d gone on a double date and while her brother was having fun with his not-so-brainy arm candy, Danusia had spent the evening arguing quantum physical theory. Not discussing, but arguing.
Her blind date had been an opinionated cretin.
“Do I have to worry you’re going to sabotage the kitchen?” Max asked, proving Roman had been telling tales.
“I don’t know. Are you going to try to fix me up with the most obnoxious man on the Eastern Seaboard?”
“Is that what Roman did?”
“Yes. And when you’re contemplating murder, salt in the coffee doesn’t seem like such a harsh retaliation.”
Max laughed out loud. “I can promise you, I’ve got no plans to fix you up with anyone while you’re here.”
“Good.” She had her own plans and they all revolved around the gorgeous black man whose laugh made her thighs clench.
Weird. Was that a primal reaction, she wondered or an evolutionary one? Whatever it was, there was an ache between her legs that would not go away.
“You’re doing it again.”
“What?”
“Thinking about something that puts that alarming expression in your eyes.”
“Do I worry you?” she asked in disbelief.
“More than you know.” With that, he spun on his heel and headed out of the room, stopping at the doorway. “I’ll make dinner tonight.”
“You don’t trust me to cook?”
“Let’s just say I’ll be sure what goes into it, if I make it.”
“I’ll have you know I’m a very good cook.” It was basic organic chemistry and she’d had that particular subject down before she’d been out of training bras.
“When you aren’t switching ingredients on the unsuspecting.”
“I told you, he deserved it.”
“And I don’t.”
“Not yet,” she couldn’t resist saying.
He laughed again and she decided that sound could become more addictive than McDonalds French fries.
