Amsterdam-based artist Cedric Laquieze (previously featured here) recently completed a fascinating new series of his exquisite taxidermy Fairies. These delicate sculptures are primarily composed of parts from many different insect species, but if you look closely you’ll notice bones, seeds and even a few scorpion parts as well.

Visit Cedric Laquieze’s blog for many additional images and to check out some of his other enchanting creations.

She stood unmoving and felt a wetness at her eyes though she hadn’t felt the need to cry, almost as if the crashing storm of their cheers had left her dripping. Her mind was blank for a moment because she had, somehow, even after all this time, forgotten who she was. Forgotten she was Queen.

Just wrote (or should I say drastically re-wrote) this paragraph. Felt like sharing. Because- guess what- I’m writing right now Whoot!

writing tip #920:

gr8writingtips:

pick an adjective, any adjective. use this adjective right before a character dies, and only then. soon, your readers will start to associate the adjective with emotional trauma. end your story happily. then have the last word be that adjective

"I have heard there are troubles

Of more than one kind.

Some come from ahead.

Some come from behind.

But I’ve bought a big bat.

I’m all ready, you see.

Now my troubles are going

To have troubles with me.”

— Dr. Seuss

Describing Accents:

Anonymous asked: Hey there! In the story I am writing it takes place on a different planet. However I really want a certain race of people to have African accents. How do I describe accents that don’t necessarily exist? I hope that made sense!

If anyone couldn’t guess, I’m watching a True Detective marathon today because I’m sick and I’m addicted to the dialogue and also Matthew McConaughey’s cheek bones.
