When I get really, really tired, I completely lose my vocabulary filter and just start randomly using huge words. So I’ll just have these chunks in my manuscript first drafts that are all like, “The irksome and impertinent juvenile brought numerous tribulations to his family unit.” And then I’ll have other chunks that are just like, “That kid’s seriously a piece of shit.”
