When I started this blog a few years ago, I used to offer a lot more writing advice than I do now. I’d like to get back into that. I want to be more active in the writing community again so if you have an writing/editing questions, feel free to ask! Fyi, I am not published or a professional but I have been writing for a long time and I have worked with professionals in the past and am confident in the advice I give. Thanks and happy writing!

You know what an amazing tool is to help current writers and hardly gets used? Besides editing, that is. Google maps! Like a lot of people, going outside of your hometown is expensive and it’s hard to travel so most writers use the media (movies, books, tv, news, etc) for their worldly experiences. Using maps (street view is my favorite), you can get a feel for a place you wouldn’t get from a movie (especially since most places aren’t even shot in the city/state/country they’re in) and it’ll give your story a more realistic view.
